I guess this will only happen if we can get the guy from Leicester

I’d much rather see Robinson playing off Carroll. More energy and can score different types of goals. I feel Grant is a one trick pony cutting it into his right and doesn’t seem to creat any attacks. Think we need to go to a 4411 and use wingers in their correct positions

Maybe there is some kind of break in his contract come the end of the season where any compensation is minimal on missing out on promotion. Seems strange that he hasnt gone yet with the fans all decided they don’t like what their seeing. Big Dave and Bilic went for a lot less

If we can get Okay Yokuslu and Daryl Dike then I think we would have filled the missing pieces. It’s wishful thinking but if we sell Sawyers and with the Pereira money there’s no reason why we can afford it.

We’d be guaranteed promotion if we keep him. Sell Johnson for 20 million get a decent striker and holding midfielder and we should win the league

Gayles goal again Stoke comes to mind from last season.

I honestly don’t know what all the hyped is about him. I’m gutted we missed out on 10m+
Would much rather a fit Gibbs at left back, although that’s wishful thinking

This doesnt sit well with me as it can be taken advantage of far to easy. For example if spurs wanted Ferguson but didn’t want to pay the tribunal fee of say 5 million, what’s stopping them from getting an overseas club to buy him for 300k or whatever the price is set at then agree to pay 1.5 million? I’m not saying Villa have done this but you can see how agents and clubs could work it

If someone offers decent money then I’d let him go and put the money toward getting Gayle in. We already have a great winger in Edwards and as people have said we really don't see a lot of Philips throughout the season due to his injury record. And if we get Matheus Pereira then we will be a real threat on the counter

I would have thought if Stoke had wanted him they would have gone for him by now as they haven’t messed about and done deals early

Was ok as a right back in a team Pulis set out but now he has moved to his preferred centre back position I haven’t been all that impressed. His passing was poor at times last season. I think Hegazi is our best defender and walk be gutted if someone comes in for him

Really torn on this. Would love us to do a straight swap with Rondon rather than see him join the likes of Stoke or Fulham. But also think 16.5 million should the club reinvest it that’s is, could buy 2 very good young strikers from over seas on half his wage.

I think a new manager could convince him to sign. All the uncertainty at the club must be unsettling for a player and I’m hoping if Bilic becomes manager he could convince him to stay

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Dwight Gayle (on loan swap from Newcastle)
« on: September 30, 2018, 09:10:58 AM »
I think it will cost us big to sign Gayle next season. It cost Fulham 22 million for Mitrovic who had a decent half season on loan to them, and he was a player we were looking to sign for just 11 million before then. Plus if Newcastle go down which I can see happening then they would be crazy to sell him. Unfortunately we’ve going to get Rondon back who will have had a poor season with a year left of has contract

If we were to lose Barnes in January then we should break the bank to get Dack from Blackburn. He’s having a great season.

I’m sure these youngsters will get some time against the lesser teams during the season, especially as the build up of games takes its toll. Stoke was a potential 6 pointer come the end of the season and a good start to the season is crucial in this league to build momentum. Can’t blame Darren Moore for putting his strongest team out whilst their all fairly fresh

This walk out music has to go! It’s terrible and gets progressively worse until it’s just a jumbled up noise that comes to an end only when the ref blows his whistle. What was wrong with the liquidator? They should be getting the crowd going not drowning them out!

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Centre midfield
« on: August 08, 2018, 07:36:46 AM »
It’s time to stop playing like a bottom half premiership side looking to nick something. We need to stamp our own identity on the way we play in this league. Need more creativity from midfield, we’ve not going to score passing sideways. We need someone who can drive the ball forward, Brunt and Livermore can’t do that. I’m worried Big Dave doesn’t know of any other way to go about it. I just hope this new coach has an idea

Made me quite glad we got rid of Foster for a decent price. He looked about ready for the scrap heap with those knees!

General Football & Sports / Re: Salomon Rondon
« on: July 16, 2018, 08:57:06 PM »
Newcastle are expected to tie up a deal for their top summer target Solomon Rondon in the next week – and TEAMtalk sources can reveal an impressive cut-price raid could be agreed.

The Venezuelan striker has been identified by Rafa Benitez as the man he wants to lead his strikeforce next season, with Aleksander Mitrovic expected to make a permanent move to Fulham.
Rondon, 28, has a release clause of £16.5million in his contract but TEAMtalk can reveal Newcastle want the deal as an initial loan – and have offered £4million now and then a further £15million next summer to make the deal permanent.

West Brom would rather sell now, and although Rondon’s wages have almost halved from £75,000-a-week to £40,000, they are desperate to shed his salary and look likely to agree to Newcastle’s request.

If we can get quoted 25 million for Deeney then I’d say Rodriguez is worth that when you consider he is younger and has a better goal ratio
