Spoke too soon.

Leicester have absolutely battered Norwich.

2-1 up now. Good result for us if it stays like this.

Not great results for us.

Always feels like one teams drops out of the playoffs after being there most of the season.

Our run in seems reasonable on paper and hopefully we have some players return from injury soon.

Never know, he might just score our winning goal in the playoff final...... so long as Tom Rogic doesn't.

He'll probably get a pen, miss and arrogantly strut around not caring.

Devastating news.

I can't imagine a team Grant would be less suited to than Swansea. Can't pass or control a ball. Maybe they came to their senses and pulled out.

Was a bit brainless for me too. 3 0 and game was already over. CC has said Phillips is off to the doctor's in the morning. Fingers crossed it's nothing serious.

Out for a while with a quad injury apparently.

Well that's a bit of a blow.

Caleb Taylor scored his first career goal yesterday, got an assist too.

He turned 20 the other day, being a centre back and doing well in league 1 already, you'd have to say he has a lot of potential. I've got high hopes for him.

I thought he was brilliant yesterday. Fantastic assist, however his overall game was excellent.

Did score a nice goal in the FA cup I seem to recall.

The league goal is well overdue, he's had plenty of chances, I'd say he couldn't really miss today, but he's not exactly clinical

Rotherham 3 Blackburn 0 I don't think Blackburn will last the pace.

Diaz wasn't in the squad

Cleary?

Well Dike won't play all three (he's never completed a full 90 for us) so I don't see who else we can play other than Cleary.

The BBC doing thier best to get BTA a ban

He elbowed a player in the face, ultimately it allowed us to equalise, it's hardly surprising. Silly thing to do.

Why ? The bbc don’t rule football ? Did they do the same for the leg breaker on Ajayi by the Chesterfield forward ?

They didn't even show it! But it doesn't matter because the ref saw it so they couldn't take action

One of the games will be the replay i guess? Big chance for Dike. We need another striker in as i saw enough from Grant to know he doesnt fit Don Carlos style

He'll miss Luton, replay, Burnley. 2 games you don't want him out for. Who do we play up top for the replay!!?

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Adam Reach signs
« on: January 07, 2023, 08:00:56 PM »
Yes and no - he was a free transfer and his signing-on fee is payable over the course of his transfer on top of his normal wages, which inflates it.  Quite common practice.  Best example is when Sanchez joined United from Arsenal on a Bosman and ended up on £500k a week, but £200k of that was his signing-on fee paid monthly rather than up front.

I understand the fact he was a free transfer may have inflated his signing on fee, even his wages, but I still don't think for one second he gets 40k a week. He was a squad player at Sheffield Wednesday as they were relegated, I don't think he was in high demand, there's no way he commanded those wages.

Whilst I can't vouch for the veracity of this website, it has him on £23k, which is much more believable.

With two incredibly hard away fixtures coming up, a replay in the cup is definitely not ideal, however that's the situation we are now in.

Chesterfield are flying in the national League and their home form is brilliant (only dropped 6 points at home) so I think people are doing them a disservice today thinking we should have won easily. Wrexham beat Coventry today, there is quality in that league. I'd be very concerned if it wasn't for the fact we changed our entire first XI, but we did and it acted as a leveller. Saying that we have some absolute dross in our squad, can't help but feel Ashworth ended his career with us today after that performance, he was so out of his depth, I felt sorry for him.

BBC tweeted a replay of the incident.

Safe to say we'll lose him for a few games now.

There is no way Adam Reach is on 40k a week. I can't believe people believe these nonsense reports.

The commentators were pro Chesterfield all game (unsurprisingly). I'd need to see that incident again, and more clearly, to judge if it shouldve been a red.

Their striker shouldve had a red earlier on though for his foul on Ajayi. It was late, it was over the ball, it was studs first and it was over ankle height.

I did see that one and agree it should have been a red. Unfortunately it was seen and he was given a yellow so they can't act whereas they potentially could with the BTA one.

I think the commentators mentioned the replay would be held the same week Chesterfield play Wrexham, which is certainly not ideal for them

I'll be honest I missed the replay on the stream I watched, but the commentators were adamant it was a straight red card
