Albion Matchday Forum / Re: After Match Debate
« on: August 05, 2018, 09:00:26 PM »
Didn’t go to the game but the post-match comments from supporters suggest that the stench of Pulis and the disciples he left behind is still very much lingering.

Flat, rigid 442 with no pace or creativity in central midfield, garbage set pieces defensively.. DM is only missing the baseball cap.

Early days but very, very worrying.

If you’re going to attribute blame to Carver then you also have to do the same with Darren Moore, who was also here during our bad run under Pulis...

John Percy's article:

'Pardew’s job is safe despite the head coach picking up only one league win since his appointment, though his methods and management are understood to be causing some friction within the squad.'

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/02/13/west-brom-sack-chariman-chief-exec-alan-pardew-safe-now/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

My question is who are these players and some were reportedly unhappy with Pulis and now Pardew. What do these players expect? What sort of football do they want to play? Im confused. Surely they should be fighting for the badge instead of causing friction!

Assuming this is the same core group of “great lads” that rebelled against Mel and have bottled virtually every big occasion in recent memory?

Club is rotten from top to bottom, get rid of the lot and start again.

Anyone out there still think we should be careful what we wish for?

Haven’t felt this proud of my team for years.

WE’VE GOT..... PARDIOLA!! 8)

Please raise the issues with tannoys especially in the Halfords, honestly can’t hear a word of the video packages pre-game where we are. Absolutely shocking.

Just throwing it out there. We're always quick to praise, especially when we're linked with injury-prone players, that our fitness department will sort them out. Seems this hasn't been the case in recent times.

I'd argue that one of the main reasons we're struggling at the moment is because of our constant injuries. Whether that's to do with the actual treatment of player whilst they're injured or rushing them back when they aren't quite ready.

Fair point, think part of the problem is our squad is so weak that we are forced to rush people like Phillips back into the team.

The aim for a club like ours has to be giving ourselves the best chance to win a domestic cup. We have to be in the Premier League and improve the team year after year to give ourselves the best chance to achieve this.

Another injury story. What is happening with our so called elite fitness department? Have they all jumped ship too?

You can have the best fitness department in the world, but if you pile your resources into players who are made of poppadoms then what do you expect to happen?

Part of our transfer policy seems to be buying players who have had long term injury problems (Phillips, Rodriguez, Giles Barnes sticks in my head), because they are cheap.

More bad news.  Injury setback for jimmy.

http://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/918158465?-11200:789:0

What an absolute waste of time and money getting him on this new contract when he was ready to jump ship, the only reason he stayed is because no one else was daft enough to pay him what he wanted.

Appreciate everything James has done for us over the years but once again we’ve held on too long. Should be one of the first names out in the summer to reduce the wage bill.

Given how many bad teams there are at the bottom I don't think it was too unrealistic to ask the new manager just to finish 17th. Pardew still has time but not being able to beat bad teams is troubling.

We are the worst of the lot! Swansea have Ayew, Bony, Abraham, West Ham have Carroll, Lanzini, Palace have Zaha, Townsend, Benteke.... we have three donkeys up front and our only two decent attacking players are made of poppadoms and are more often than not injured.

We are rubbish.

Hasn’t taken long for Tony’s pals to turn on the new bloke has it?

Let’s be honest lads, Guardiola couldn’t keep this team in the league. We are finished, and whilst Pulis is partly to blame and Pardew isn’t getting the points we need, this has happened under Williams’ watch.

Sack the f***ing board.

Specifics are not the point though. As Jacko says, every other bottom half team who have appointed a new manager have got an improvement in results very quickly. We are still waiting. You can find excuses, but all the other teams around us didn't need excuses.

It’s not excuses, it’s a fact that Pardew has inherited the worst set of strikers in the league. Performances have massively improved, the only reason we haven’t got results under AP is the abysmal squad he’s been left to work with. He doesn’t have the luxury of having Zaha or Rooney like Hodgson and Allardyce have inherited.

To be fair Carvalhal wins within 48 hours. Pardew still waiting... 33 days tomorrow.

Carvahal doesn’t have Rondon throwing away chances and points every Saturday.

Is there any chance the Smethwick End could be as vocal in their support for Pardew as they were with their "we've got Tony Pulis" song? Barely heard a peep of support for our manager around the ground the last couple of games despite much improved performances.

Reminds me of Markus Rosenberg every passing week.

hope pardew heard what the crowd thought because he`s blinded by this poor english international,{southgate you have got a lot to answer for}

Delighted that happened. Sends a message to both the manager and the player. Woeful.

I'm sure it really helped the already shattered confidence of the team. Well done gents.

Another golden chance missed at a game-changing time - an early goal would have seen us comfortably take three points.

It's not his fault that our options are so poor (particularly Rodriguez who is beyond awful), but he misses so many great chances at game-changing times that he has become a complete liability. I'd rather see Phillips lead the line instead of all three "strikers" in our squad if I'm honest.

Whether people rate him or not, there is no need for sarcastically cheering him being subbed, ridiculous and embarrassing. Don't think he is performing well but I do believe he is trying.

Think the point is neither have Barry or Livermore (done anything in an Albion shirt) and at least Krychowiak has pedigree and is in his prime.

You're not wrong, however much better midfielders than GK have come to England and failed to adapt.

I'd love to see him flourish with us in the second half of the season, will be interesting to see how things develop with him.

Middlesbrough apparently in talks with Pulis after sacking Monk due to concerns over style of play... ;D

22
I take it all of Krychowiak's backers see him every day in training to know he deserves a place in the team?

Megson bombed the guy out in favour of an academy player - is it possible GK is only here on a touristy gap year? How motivated is he?

Personally I'd rather see Yacob in the team over GK at this moment in time.

Whatever happened to Saint Jeremy of Albion only wanting to sell us to someone who could take the club further than he could?

Hope he gets a sunburnt head on his Caribbean cruise, the absolute s**thouse.

I'd be hopeful we'd go straight back up, a core of foster Dawson hegazi Livermore field and jrod would be more than good enough. Keep Tyler Roberts and bring him into the first team

This side as it stands would struggle to make the playoffs. If / when we do drop it will be a huge culture shock, confidence will be rock bottom.

This time last week I would have happily swapped Pardew for the enemy of football we were employing.

All aboard the Pardew train!
