West Bromwich Albion FC / What's the transfer budget?

West Bromwich Albion FC / First team conundrum
« on: March 05, 2021, 11:02:30 AM »
Last night's game was probably one of our better games as a team, pitty the result. Going forward into our final game's of season think we need to get our most effective player's on pitch.
Keeper is no brainer Sam has impressed since he's come into Prem.
Townsend has tied down left back so will move on.
I'd keep Furlong at right back, definitely a weakness but other than Sticking O'Shea out there, think we're stuck with him.
Bartley left central defender has improved but still has lapses in concentration.
O'Shea right central defender but could be toss up with Semi as both have rickets in their game. At the moment Darra looks the better defender but like Furlong needs a bit of composure at the back and not just hoof ball forward when under pressure.
Okay our stand out man, he looks head and shoulders above any player we have got. Protects an inconsistent back line and bully's opposition midfielders. Doesn't over complicate play and has he misplaced a pass?
Snodgrass on right, hard working player who will get to byline but also track back to protect our weakest defender.
Gallagher in middle of three bit of a gamble as he has a tenancy to hold on to ball and give away needles fouls.
AMN left of midfield 3 which he is capable of playing but not where he wants to play.
Pereira in his best position at number 10 should be able to give service to striker and come up with a few goals.
Diagne our lone forward who has impressed since he's arrived, a handful for any defence.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Dispute with fans
« on: September 21, 2019, 10:50:20 AM »
Sure there is a topic for this so Mods do your magic. Being reported that minority share holders are looking for Emergency General Meeting to find out information about Peace and the loan he took out from club to buy shares in club which still has to be repaid.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Albion player of the season.
« on: April 26, 2019, 06:32:44 PM »
Don't know if there is a thread about this topic if so Mods know what to do. Gayle is my pick for this award followed by Barnes with a special mention for Gibbs and Hegazi who played their part in getting us into play offs.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Gatean Bong
« on: February 07, 2019, 12:21:35 AM »
I. See Brighton manager has complained to FA about chants from Smethwick regarding smelly bong or was it smelly bugger. Seems to think this is racist is it me or has PC gone to far? Feel free to remove topic if it offends.

West Bromwich Albion FC / The big five 0
« on: July 13, 2017, 01:26:12 AM »
New season and a milestone for us Albion fans 50 years since we last won a cup competition. I wasn't around then but I was when we were still holders. God where have all those years gone and are the club going to honour that team this years, like to see us play in white for cups.

West Bromwich Albion FC / WBA?
« on: September 09, 2016, 10:14:28 AM »
Every one knows that famous conundrum, what came first the chicken or the egg? Scrolling down a sports section and especially a weekend of a big fight headlines jump out about WBA as a fan of the Albion I am immediately drawn to these stories only to be disappointed that they are related to one of Boxing's governing bodies the WBA. So you know what the question is going to be who came first WBA  ( Albion) or WBA?

West Bromwich Albion FC / Starting eleven
« on: February 06, 2016, 07:27:38 PM »
Beginning to think about the run-in and what should be the starting eleven when everybody is fit and the reason for their inclusion.
Foster in goal as he has Shown he still is our first Joice keeper and could get on a plane for euros.
Left back brunt only because what I've seen of poco has been poor it's a pity that we couldn't get in a natural left back in the previous two windows shame on you To.
Right back Dawson again only because we have no descent right back.
Center halves Gmac and Evans, two quality players who do their job with little fuss. On Evans has to be the player of year.
Left wing McLean only because he covers our suspect left back  position no disrespect to  Chris brunt.
Central midfielders Fletcher and Sandro who I believe are the better partnership.
RIGHT wing Pritchard who by all accounts is a quality player Edwin out Jimmy.
Forwards Sess and saido as again I believe they are the better partnership and will score goals.

The FA want the Prem reduced to 18 clubs, so that the teams in Europe have a better chance of winning the champions league and for national side, thoughts

West Bromwich Albion FC / Match fixing scandal
« on: October 31, 2015, 10:03:37 PM »
Oh my god I've been watching football for over four decades and I have never seen a more pathetic performance from a match official. This clown has to be the most incompetent ref on the planet or have we seen a match fixing game in Prem?

West Bromwich Albion FC / Support your local team.
« on: July 22, 2015, 07:19:14 AM »
Sky have just posted viewing figures for their so called big teams in the British isles, again trying to push these clubs down are throats
Young kids should be encouraged to support their local team not be brainwashed by a media outlet. Anyway these statistics are bum as they blanket cover their teams .

West Bromwich Albion FC / if we go down?
« on: March 24, 2014, 11:27:59 AM »
If we get relegated who is to blame for this season of farce? Is it Steve Clarke for been given to much time or not enough time to sort out the mess he created?
Is it the director of football who must have sanctioned the buying and selling of players?
Is it the chairman and owner who is culpable for employing a director of football with no football related experience, who again sanctioned the buying and selling of players.
Sacking a coach with no ready made appointment then taking weeks to appoint a coachwith little english and no experience in the premier league and not letting him bring in his own staff not to mention not backing him in transfer window long and Anelka?
Or is it players who've over achieved
For a few seasons?
Or is it all of the above?

West Bromwich Albion FC / Poaching youth team players
« on: June 18, 2013, 01:40:46 AM »
What is the policy by fifa in relation  to clubs poaching youth team players? This has to be a concern to Albion fans at the minute whith three of our youth team playerd been tapped up by the so called bigger clubs one of these players has already moved to Liverpool last year becomeing their youngest player.the two whome are left are brown and dhander the latter being only fourteen and the dogs balls. Why should we bother with youth system when any player shows any potential he and his family are showered with gifts and promised the world. Albion last won both cup in 75 or 76 out of that team we had Len Cantelo Asa Hartford I think pop Robson just to name a few a nucleus of a good side that nearly won the league and vupd

West Bromwich Albion FC / luck!!
« on: January 12, 2013, 10:27:09 PM »
has Steve or Jeremy crossed the path of a black cat at the start of this new year because at the minute we are not getting any, four times in the last two prem games we have hit the woodwork. I admit we have defended sloppily to give away five goals which we have conceded but every coach or manager needs a little bit of luck were has ours gone and can we have it back so I'm calling on all albion fans to try and find our luck and hand it over to the club asap thanks :D

West Bromwich Albion FC / fourteen from fourteen?
« on: February 05, 2012, 12:06:40 AM »
with fourty points usually keeping teams in prem will albion get there?
so far we have played 24 with 26 points gained.
fourteen more games to go with fourteen more points needed.
seven home games with seven away games.
i predict that we will get ten more points, hope that will do fingers and toes crossed.

West Bromwich Albion FC / staying up or going down?
« on: September 18, 2011, 01:34:35 AM »
yes its a bit early in the season but are we going to stay up or go back down to Championship league ?
in my humble opinion i think we will stay up but the season will be long and filled with frustrating results like today, yes we are going to be in a relegation battle for most of season but should just survive. i blame this prediction on our skin flint chairman jp who if the worst happens and relegation is our destiny should be told to sling his hook for lack of investment and vision for a club of our stature [ every fan can have an opinion on jp with out ridicule  so this is mine] :-*

West Bromwich Albion FC / weakest link?
« on: August 23, 2011, 12:28:33 AM »
at the minute is chris brunt our weakest link in midfield ? i think he is, the two games so far his performances have been below par. dorrans should replace him against jstoke.
against Man Utd he left reid one on one with young on numerous occasions and was at fault with not tracking back for second goal.
as for chelski he improved on helping out reid but i can remember only one pass [but what a pass] he completed going forward and his corner taking was well below his usual standards [maybe im wrong but the other three midfielders mulumbu, scharner and morrison have to be on the team sheet before him if you are judging performances over the first two games] i rate brunty by the way.

West Bromwich Albion FC / peace and his transfer` s
« on: July 28, 2011, 11:36:48 PM »
??? ??? how come it takes all of the transfer window for our chairman to open up the cheque book. after last season roy said that he would like to get players in early for pre season, oh yeah we got two free transfer `s so far, come on peace spend some money you tight backside.

West Bromwich Albion FC / thanks mate.
« on: May 25, 2011, 11:59:17 PM »
got a bit of a shock to see we will be parting with meite. i thought he did enough for us at the back end of the season to get a new deal. better defender than tamas. good luck were ever you end up.

24
:D well done lads for keeping us in the prem league with three games to go. its hard but i will get over the dingles result, might have the last laugh and dogheads go down, are you watching goodman. so what will it take for the albion to push on and become a regular prem team. roy has to be tied up for a few seasons and we need to bring in  quality so peace needs to give roy a descent transfer fund. our better players have to be given better contracts sooner rather than later, those who stall ship out quickly and have replacements in mind. in my opinion we need to increase the size of stadium to around a fourty thousand seater with in the next five years so we can benifit from our time in prem.

25
i have been watching the albion since the seventies with the likes of regis, laurie, bomber, len, brendan, ally, alister, pop, paddy,  willie, johnny, derek, and big john to name but a few who have taken my breath a way. one of the finest teams in the land for a few years. so ive seen the great and the bad of this club which has been apart of my life for over four decades but i have to admit that roy has to in such a short time at the club one of our better coaches and easily the best prem coach we have had. so roy and the lads its been a while but take my breath away  ;D ;D ;D ;D :D :D :D :D :D
