And a place in the final would be wasted on AS Roma  ;D

Klopp is a jokeless clown but Salah is hands down one of my favorite players today, right up there with Messi.

Didn't expect that game or the twist at the end. Fair play Liverpool, Roma were bobbins for most of that game but they certainly made next week a lot more interesting.

Serious incident outside the stadium before kick off involving both sets of supporters. One fan in a bad way.

fantastic to watch, despite Roma getting a lifeline i still think Pool will get to the final. was strange watching an Italian side defend so poor and giving one of the best players in the world atm in Salah so much space. Strodder would have nailed him within 10 minutes.😋

Thought Liverpool were fantastic myself.

Mo Salah is one hell of a player  :o

Think Liverpoool will score away, perhaps a few times and get to the final

If they continue in this vein of form I can see them winning it

I suppose you would say there wasn't an Italian in their back line so makes it a bit more explicable. Florenzi was right wing back, so it is whether you class him as having played in defence in that role.

I can't see Liverpool not scoring out there, but it should have been all over. Sadly for them, they still have Lovren at the back who is just useless so keeping a clean sheet will always be an issue for them.

I really like Salah on two counts

1) as a person, he comes across as a very decent and humble individual

2) as a player,  this season, he has been outstanding and unstoppable

I hope Liverpool can retain his services, for the good of Liverpool obviously, but also for the PL.

However, I wonder whether this rich vain of form and the quality he undoubtedly processes will be sustainable in a very savvy PL next season and in the future.

That will be the true test of his quality if he can produce season in and season out as do messers Messi and Ronaldo. Then he will be classed as a great.

Love the way people are banging the Salah for the Ballon D'or trophy and how he should win it. Granted he should be in the running but unfortunately Cristiano Ronaldo is having the sort of season, and breaking the sorts of records that only get broke once in a lifetime.

Of course the Balloon D'Or is largely meant to be based on calendar year rather than full season. World cup performances should have a big impact this year as well but Salah definitely in early reckoning.

I didn't realise he'd had such a good year. 300 plus goals is some going.

How? We're talking about THIS years European Footballer of the Year award? What's Ronaldo done THIS season?

Have the candidates for the Ballon d’Or been announced yet? If not, it’s a little premature to be putting any names forward, no matter how outstanding a season they are perceived to have had.

As you such a stickler for context, well here we go, so far this year.

CR7 played 40, scored 42 , Ratio 1.050 G/G (all competitions)
CR7 European Cup played 11, scored 15 Ratio 1.363 G/G

Salah played 47, scored 43, Ratio 0.914 G/G (all competitions)
Salah European Cup played 13, scored 11 Ratio 0.846 G/G

Oh and what has Salah done this season?

Kevin De Bruyne won a Premier League medal, so we know that winning things is no guarantee of an award.

At last... so Ronaldo is the front runner. I won't bother checking your figures but hadn't realised his CL exploits had embellished his numbers so much.

Was always under the impression that the Ballon D'or is based on yearly performance as opposed to seasonal? Hence why it's announced in January and not July.

In 18 games in 2018 Ronaldo has scored 26 goals. He's broken all sorts of individual records and will become the first player to win 100 CL games this calendar year. Ronaldo is on a whole different level. You look at the records Ronaldo has broken and he simply ahs to win it.

In 18 games in 2018 Salah has scored 20 goals.

In normal circumstances i’d be pleased that Liverpool got through. But with that pr@&k Klopp in charge I just hope Real Madrid stuff them in the final.
