I'm hoping his English has come along since seeing the video clip of him in the canteen at the training ground not long after he signed. I'd also like to see him get some more minutes to see how he's setting in tactically.

He had a 'mare starting alongside Racic at Sheffield Wednesday away but that may have had as much to do with Racic as Diakite himself. Suppose it's difficult for both settling into a new system in a new country though.
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.
Oh, and always remember to defecate on those Vile chaps in claret and spew.

In all other opportunities (albeit not a lot of game time) I thought he’s looked useful, tackles well and good ball retention/usage…I think him and molumby give us way more bite and mobility than a racic/Mowatt 2…
I’d try Mowatt in the 10
If youre going to get told off, get told off for doing something not for doing nothing..

I also thought he did ok in all but the 1 game, just not to CC taste i imagine as some of the players he picks are as bad but on a more consistent basis

Interesting that CC named checked him as someone they might try in a back three. Same as Frabotta

I think his time will come as he has looked useful when coming on from the bench. Some players take longer than others to settle in to new surroundings and that may be so in his case.

You would presume a muscular strain has he did it in the warm up
Might give Whitwell a chance to shine from the bench

It might but, based on past indicators it likely wont

CC said in his pre-match he's out for tomorrow and while he was training he still felt pain in his knee so won't be risked

Phew, with his knee injury record that's a huge relief.

He's had 2 acls before I think I read, so the fact he trained after being injured on Tuesday is a good sign imo given what he's been through in the past.

No, but his injury record is a pain in the a***.

When will we learn our lesson in gambling on such signings is a waste of money, a space in the squad and delaying the introduction of our own academy products

A bad error but was excellent thereafter and tells us a lot about his character (not that we need affirmation given he has come back from 2 ACL injuries).

Got around the pitch and used his physio to great affect.

Much better than Uros.

Diakite has played 95 mins for us across 23 games, 45 of which were poor no doubt, but no player can be brought in from such cold treatment and expect to be good to go.

Will take a continued run or frequent and substantial sub appearences to see what he can actually do.

Comment from Brunt on OS recognising Diakite overall performance.

"I think their goal was probably only thing Ousmane Diakité did wrong today. I thought him and Jayson Molumby in the middle of the park were fantastic."

Energy which is something Mowatt and Racic don’t offer
I’m not saying Mowatt should never start he is excellent at keeping possession but with him and swift it’s mostly sideways and backwards
I’ve banged on about trying Diakite and molumby for weeks especially playing that front four they offer far more protection to the back four

We just need to not see Racic for me. Swift also can remain out.

Most teams in this division lack quality but make up for it with running. Racic, Swift and Mowatt can't offer that in return.

Dialite worked hard unfortunately he has the first touch of a buffalo ! He looks to me as though his best position would be as CB in a three

Your crucifying him for one mistake
Mowatt gifted a team a goal earlier in the season with a poor sideways pass that got intercepted I don’t remember this much vilification for him

Yes, it’s a tad harsh. I like the look of him overalll since first seeing his cameo appearance at Stoke much earlier in the season. He’s not perfect, but neither is any single one of our players. Definitely deserves more minutes.

Don’t think I’ve crucified him but I have pointed out a major failing. He worked bloody hard but I don’t think he’s the second coming either !

Thought only molumby was better than him today. Considering he hadn't really played yes he looked rusty and his touch was a little off but unlike racic he didn't shirk challenges and was brave wanting the ball even after a mistake. Deserves more minutes- reminds me of yousuff mulumbu when he first came in.
O Albion we love you
