I don't think it is where we are, i doubt we will sell him in January for anything less than $15m

We really are still in balancing the books mode so anything is possible. I can certainly see us moving on Wallace and Swift. Any offer around the £12 million for Maja I  think would be accepted. This squad is still evolving

Watching the Sunderland til I die programme and how his agent was shown if we get an offer then I wouldn't be surprised if its pushed towards happening but that may have been down to the editing, who knows.

While we are still trading our way out of the financial hole that Lai dumped us in I don't think we will sell our leading striker in January if we are still in contention for a play-off spot.

Patel is prepared to fund the club so we are not under the same cash flow pressures that we were under Lai. Even if someone comes in with £15m and that drops to £10m in the summer because he has less time on his contract it is a "loss" of just £5m which compared to a chance to get promoted is relatively small beer.

Any chance of promotion would be scuppered by selling our only striker in January.

I like Maja, but £10m and I’d sell him. I can’t see anyone paying anything like that though.

I mean if we want to get promoted, why sell Maja in January?
It doesnt make sense to me, if we get into the prem, we will have more than enough money to balance the books, so pointless selling our best goalscorer atm if at all, surely if he keeps banging them in until end of season he will be wort much more, then decide, wait and see eh?

He’s just absolutely brilliant, isn’t he. His lay offs, general awareness and finishing ability are so important for us.

Up to 10 goals already? One behind what BTA got all last season and we’re only in November  ;D

Best player on the pitch again today, he's just such a good all rounder and great finish again.

We won’t get promotion with him IMO. I like him, but I’m not sure he’s and out and out striker. Given our issues at 10 he’d probably play that well but Dike isn’t likely to bet fit for a prolonged spell. I’d hope 10m could improve the team in the aggregate but as I said I don’t see anyone paying anything like that

I have come around to the conclusion that this squad is not capable of winning promotion, as such bringing in a significant profit for any player and re-investing that money in the squad is the best course of action, sadly.

What's a good return for him this season? 20? 25? We have 66% of season left. Very clever player. Is he out of contract summer, or did he sign 3 year deal initially?

Don't play him against Sunderland, there's a lot of bad feeling towards him and Ballard wants too hand out another punishment beating.

Better to lose points on Tuesday and have him around for the rest of the season.

Is there a lot of bad feeling towards Maja? I’m not aware of that. It was downright thuggery by Ballard last season but surely he can’t risk a repeat of that. Maja has to play in my opinion.

This. As much as promotion (more the money that comes with it) would be a blessing, we should be looking to progress the club overall rather than chase headlong after it.

If we were to get £10m+ that could be beneficial for FFP, and stand us in good stead for next season when playing budgets may be cut again.

When the season began, I was very unsure about Maja, that was mainly because of the way he was portrayed in the Sunderland til I die documentary, and I hadn't seen enough of him (because of injuries), which was then followed by the CC comments about him declaring himself not ready when we needed him
at the end of last season.

However, he is a very good finisher, and that goal yesterday was brilliant.

I still worry every time goes down under a challenge, and when he went down early yesterday (can't believe the Norwich player wasn't booked because early in game doesn't make a bad challenge ok).

It's so disappointing for him having to come back so far to get possession and try to instigate things because our attacking mfs aren't doing what he is being forced to do to link up play, and that kind off extra work means he's coming off before the end meaning we're losing our only goal threat when we badly need him to finish games.

He desperately needs a partner. Preferably one that is able to run in behind and pull defenders around leaving JM to what he does best find space in the box and finish

I don't think this is down to our attacking midfielders, this is his natural game to drop deep and link play. When we signed him, his data from his time at Bordeaux suggested that his strongest suit was as a linker of play, which after seeing him so far this season, we can see why.

Totally agree. As with Mikey and Fellows. We need players who are prepared to back up.

Superglue him, Tom and Mikey to the pitch.

Not literally though. That would be Grady.
