Could definitely get behind Corberan. Joined Huddersfield during Covid break, kept them up (beating us 2-1) and then got them into the play-offs with an inferior side to ours.

Proper training ground coach. We’re probably the biggest club he could get and he’s the type we’re after - tracksuit coach to put time in on the training pitch after the Bruce debacle. And was Bielsa’s no.2. Decent credentials, I’m for him.

He’ll want/need runners in midfield if it’s to work though, and we’re short on legs in there. Will need to dip into that in Jan if we go for him.

Re: #WBA , understand Sean Dyche is holding out for a Premier League club as expects opportunities to come up (probably in Midlands imo). But Albion will speak to Carlos Corberan in an interview process. Also admire Rowett & Chris Wilder been on radar b4.

Just confirming last night's mirror article I guess

Corberan my choice out of those options. Although he flopped recently at Olympiacos he did a sensational job at Huddersfield

Corberan plus a DoF for me too.  We really need to prepare for next season and beyond so need coaches who can develop players instead of trying to buy their way to the play offs. Wilder has a pedigree for promotion on a shoestring but I feel he's in the same space as Bruce was and his career is on the downward slide  based on the past few years. We need fresh ideas, energy and a forward thinking coach.

Crystal Palace's second choice goalkeeper probably still has nightmares about that game...... when he's not watching how it's done  ;) .

Thing was he was given time. They finished 20th in the previous season, he wont get that time at Albion due to the fans/Board

This is where we all get worked up about Corberan only for us to get A.N. Other.

Albion Fan - you may very well be correct. I just worry about Gourlays interpretation of a “strong manager” - Steve Bruce perhaps fit that mould in his head. I also worry about his interpretation of a coach type manager - John Terry springs to mind. As is now being reported, Dyche holding out and I can’t say I blame him. Can see him at Leicester.

One thing is for sure, I have little faith in Gourlay and will be surprised if I’m happy when our next man is named.

I also need to jump on the “no idea on Carrick” train…can anyone explain to us his credentials. I’d rather not Google and ultimately read his Wikipedia and Transfermarkt pages 🤣

Yes I really think we someone along the lines of a DOF. Gourlay had too much say and we have now discovered what he's like.

Course he will if he's half competent. Albion fans are too patient. Look like you are having a decent go at improving things and they will support you.

Be clueless and eventually they will turn.

Danny Cowley was the manager for that game. Was sacked 2 days later

Ismael never changed anything, that was his problem. That problem followed him to Besiktas where he got off to a rocky start with fans calling for his head within a month of starting. Now he mixes it up, not 100% valball and he's doing well. Fair play to him. That's all we wanted from him here, adaptability.

A strong cheap coach…ladies and gentleman, we present our new manager - The Mega Bus. A modern interpretation on “parking the bus” to sure things up.

You jest of course.... dont you?? Great manager but we would struggle to meet 10% of his wage demands.
I admit it is highly unlikely but even asking a stranger to hold a door for you is a 50/50 outcome
Managers aren't skint they don't need the money
I would imagine all of us have worked harder for free than we ever did for money at one point
It all depends on your mindset when asked if you were up for the challenge
great manager with no club
There is no better way to prove your worth than take a lost cause and achieve something with it headline news
anyone should be able to pull off a half decent job with pots of cash and half decent tools to start with
it takes something special to do it with bare essentials and limited resources
But if you do then the world is yours mwuhahahaha..............

Dyche is after the Leicester job. Good, he is another Bruce like figure.
There are a few good candidates about, but everyone will carry their own baggage and risk factors.
A good coach and tactician is the best fit for our current situation i believe. Not a steady the ship/experienced guy, that's what Bruce was on paper.
Beale cannot possibly do any worse then Bruce, so take our time and get it right, or as right as we can.
At least Keane is out of the picture thank God. And please do not even consider interviewing Terry.

One name that hasn’t cropped up much is Danny Crowley. He has been linked with us in the past and is doing a great job at Portsmouth.

Only mentioned a couple of times but Kieran McKenna at Ipswich would be my choice. From what I’ve read he’s a very similar coach to Graham Potter who I felt we should have gone for a while ago. The issues would be compensation plus would he want to swap a top of the table League 1 position for bottom three in the Championship? Ipswich also are perhaps a bit of a sleeping giant attracting crowds of 30,000 plus at the moment.

You would hope that the decision makers at WBA have had their fingers burned with the appointments of Bruce & Val, both are on opposite ends of the head coach/manager profile.

Gourlay did say that he wanted multiple inputs into major decision making processes, if that's the case, then I wouldn't expect an imminent appointment, but I would hope Keane isn't being considered.

Erm, Bruces appointment !!
the road to the summit has dips, keep the faith when navigating those dips !!
