He was fine last night because we were in front and he kept hold of the ball. If we need a goal though his too many touches slow our attacks down and he doesn't have the quality to turn that into our advantage.

First chance we get, get rid, him and that massively overated Diangana.

I must've seen a different game thought he started okay but then faded away and why is he so bloody scared to shoot all of a sudden?

Because he's not confident in his own ability because his shots only go in when he's right on top of his game which is probably 10% of the time. Whereas someone like De Bruyne takes on similar chances because he knows probably 30 - 40% of the time he'll score those chances. Its the difference in quality.

No Swift appreciation today?  ;D

Was superb when he came on, always wanting the ball and linking the play. Great technical footballer  ;)

I will join you Fritzl. Has had a very poor season but did very well last night after joining the fray.

Better than he has been but it's a low mark. Hopefully Coventry saw enough to revisit the interest they had in the summer and take another one of us...

I think Coventry will more likely be looking to top up their squad with loans from the Chelsea Meat Market. Fresh young produce.
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.
Oh, and always remember to defecate on those Vile chaps in claret and spew.

Swifts time at Chelsea coincided with  Lampards. Although Swift can't be described as fresh young meat there is a Chsea connection....clutching at straws I know.

Very much so. But we can only hope people look at his stats over the last decade which are as good as a goal or assist every 3 or 4 games and the 6 months left on his contact and hope somebody wants to take him off us

Not his terrible usual self today, and hopefully a sign of better things to come.

All the misfiring 4 did well today. GD set up a great chance for Cole and Wallace looked lively.

Fingers crossed for a sustained purple patch for them all.

He had 2 competent wingers and a decent link striker to hit. In the past he has played and had the likes of dobbin and diangana to hit. Also Bristol pressed quite aggressively which means he didn't have time to fek about. Hopefully he can string together some performances

He has no choice.

It is perform well now and impress potential suitors who sign him in the summer or face a sustained period on the dole.

Fell asleep in a meeting according to himself on Team Rates on Sky Sports YouTube. Also put himself as least likely to become a coach out of himself, Molumby, Mowatt, Grant and Bartley.

John ‘Grommit’ Swift…..it’s time to get in your transfer taxi and take your mate Wallace with you.
Thanks for your past service but sadly you’ve failed your MOT’s.

Think some of the criticism of Swift on here over the top and unnecessary. He is still one of the best players we have at linking the play between defence and attack. I can't actually think of anyone better at playing through passes. He's also probably our best deadball specialist and has a decent shot on him, though not quite as powerful as Grant's.  But he's not your typical ball winner, so I guess that's what counts more in many fans eyes. I actually think his main problem is that he takes too many touches which slows the momentum down, when often a quicker first time contact is needed.

Stoke coming through for us again potentially!?

"@MrBaggies

John Swift is of interest to numerous Championship clubs this month. Stoke one of a few that are keen. WBA would be happy to sell at cut price with contract expiring end of season, wages are high. #WBA"

Good player but got a while left on his contract and he's just been ruled out with injury for 3 months or so.

I did get told this on Thursday, nothing concrete but they have made an enquiry
I like him, but every player has a lifespan at a club and his (and Wallace and Diangana) is done here .it was also mentioned re Louis Barry coming in so that would add up
If youre going to get told off, get told off for doing something not for doing nothing..

I can't see him moving personally if he's on £20,000 plus per week.

As he still has a good reputation at this level, I can see him going in the summer for free. I doubt even Stoke would offer to match his wages. I think it would make sense from his perspective to see out his time here then go for something like £15,000 per week for 2 years. Would Stoke really be willing to pay a fee for him as well?

I have reached the stage where I want him gone. His contribution is minimal for someone who saunters around the pitch as if he owns it. He has no affect on the game other than assisting the opposition.

He's only got 5.5 months left here. If he gets badly crocked between now and then that's his career done pretty much.

If he gets a 2.5 year deal with someone else on say 15k a week that's worth more than 5.5 months at 22k or whatever it is. Guaranteed money whether he turns up.or not.

Heaven knows why, but Robins seems to like him as he was also linked with Coventry before.
