I really don't want us to extend his contract.  The guy offers nothing that we can't get from a youth player.

It was noteable that against Blackburn, probably the worst team to visit the Hawthorn's this season, it stuck out as a better performance from him because he wasn't as bad as he usually is.

This is my take. If he was on next to nothing in football terms, and I’m talking thinking around £5k pw you could carry him, but not on anywhere near the reported figures. The fact he is being praised for adding defensive security to Townsend in a game which we were so dominant is baffling to me.

He just doesn’t contribute anywhere near enough with goals, assists or impact and his value to defend a tight lead 5 times a season doesn’t justify his place in our squad.

A lot of managers have blind spots with some players. It seems as though CC has a blind spot with Reach, the fans can see it,  the media can see it but CC just cant seem to see that he is just not good enough at this level. It seems as though he is popular in the group, trauins well and is in general a good egg but all this shouldnt get you a starting place in a play-off chasing championship team.

Absolutely nobody is saying that on this board. Zero. None. All I've read is "he's doing ok, rather we weren't paying him loads, but seems to be doing a job". You then take that as "lets keep him then".
You have to be the most relentlessly negative person on this board, its tiring reading your posts in all honesty.

It's been 11 days, so did you find the "relentlessly negative" posts that tired you so much, but for some reason you felt yhr need to resd and comment on, or have you are tired of looking for things that don't exist?

Next time you go around throwing accusations that aren't true get your facts right, not rating and wanting AR does make you negative, it just means you have eyes that still function.

At least he’s out for the next 4-6 weeks means we won’t have to see him

There was nothing to read from myself in those 11 days, yet you read today's post obviously.

Hopefully, the sunshine you refer to brought back the positivity in your life that evaporates when you come across one my Irresistible, but tiresome negative posts.

This probably gives the reality of how tight our financial situation is.

Although Reach isnt a fans favourite, Corberan is a big fan, ideally he wanted to keep him so i would imagine that by keeping him it would stop him signing others so he has to release him.

Depending on how our summer business goes and if Reach gets himself another club, i wouldnt be shocked to see him come back later in the summe.

From your input to this forum you appear to have your finger on the pulse with reference to the football club.

What do you mean by your opening sentence "This probably gives the reality of how tight our financial situation is."?

I get the FFP constraints & that we have to reduce our wages bill to restrict our losses, but some of our losses will be ammortisation & impairment of assets (& the interest payment on the MSD load). SP could make all of that good by injecting a cash asset into the company in the form of equity.

So, is our financial issue purely FFP related, or do we have other issues?

Good luck Adam but right call imo was never a left winger or left back but did a job for us. Best position which I think he played only once was central midfield which he actually did quite well.

From what I know from a very reliable source on this one Adam Reach wasn’t particularly a big favourite of CC. He was not selected very much around Christmas and wasn’t too happy. I don’t think Reach was that fond of CC either. I’m not surprised that he’s not been offered a new contract.

We have obviously been told different things Blowee but either way i think its a good thing Reach (and the other have left)

I dont know much about the finances Baggiejohn it was just my personal take, with the wage bill having to be reduced to its lowest for a long long time we really do have to make every penny count this year, i dont think we will be able to have bench warmers / squad fillers on the sort of wages we have been paying.

A lot of those type of players have been released and i think we will look try and move some names on, i know we wasnt against Swift going last summer due to his wages and as he has been involved less this season at the end i think he will be one of the 'names'  we will actively try and get rid of along with Ajayi and possible Molumby (again we were happy for him to go last summer) A

All our players are for sale really but there are ones we are keen to offload, The difficult thing is getting clubs to take them so may be loan deals with then paying a percentage of wages.

From what i have been told the other surprise could be Maja, he has a big preseason ahead of him, Corberan apparently rates him ability wise but he hasnt quite got upto standard what CC wants out of play (an older version of Cleary) by all accounts he just does enough without pushing himself too much ans CC likes intensity all the time so we shall see.

Apologies Admin for going off topic, Good luck to Reachy!

Good to see him boarding a taxi with a suitcase and heading off to Birmingham Airport clutching a one-way ticket to Benidorm.

I have to admit, Reach was one I thought might be offered an extension. I am actually very impressed with the single mindedness the club is showing in releasing so many. It's going to be a massive summer and a very interesting next season.

I think CC's admiration of reach was for the publics consumption, Reach was mainly used when other options were limited, If Matt Phillips had stayed fit we would hardly of seen AR.
Good luck and good bye.

Another shocking bit of scouting. He scored a couple of screamers against us over the years, but that didn't justify a signing.

Wednesday fans on mass described him as 'soft' and ineffective.  He was beyond an age where you could expect improvement and unlikely to be a sell-able asset.  No doubt as a free transfer we paid a big fat signing on fee plus high wages to compound the error. This is a typical example of our post Ashworth incompetence.

We never got one did we? Waste of money

I remember SWFC fans saying at least we'll get to see a wonder goal once a season...
