Austin to start for me HRK is a better bet off the bench with 20 minutes to go with his energy

Agree with the fact that we can only realistically start Austin, but Hal isn't the man to come on if we actually need a goal...  :-X

I thought it was more to do with a dysfunctional midfield than the full backs.

Bilić utilised Ferguson on the opposite side earlier this season which appeared to work well.

It was, along with several others Townsend was largely pants in his own right. I like his endeavour and he gives of his best but it really wasn't his day. Performed marginally better than at Saint Andrews but that's damning him with very faint praise indeed. If he plays tomorrow he needs to seriously up his game from the one against Huddersfield.

At least Austin's had the chance of a bit of a rest after being left out last time and the 5 day gap between games.

I hope occasionally we can be a bit more direct for the sake of variety and mixing up our play.

Townsend has his flaws but he can whip a good cross in if the likes of Austin is looking for that type of ball. Bizarrely Pereira has looked the one most likely to score a headed a goal for us with the occasional late run into the box.
What Pereira does is anticipate crosses into the box.  Its not just luck that he's there.
Not enough of our players have that instinct for timing runs in.  Some just stand there expecting the ball to drop at their feet.

I now have a very good feeling about tomorrow nights game, not that I am one for omens, but.........

For the first time in many, many, many years a Thrush (aka Throstle) flew on to my garden fence just know and starred in my direction for what seemed like ages. It is a portend of a good and joyful event is it not?  ;D

My mate's ex girlfriend was a pretty decent singer who often came down with thrush. There is no obvious connection to the visit of your turdus philomelos. I thought I'd mention it though as both my mate and his ex girlfriend support the Albion. As such I'm taking the chronic yeasty infections of my mate's former song bird as a sign that we too are destined to return...... only in Albion's case to the Prem'. I do like a little bit of abstract thinking (posting rollocks) to while away the day  ;D .

Johnstone
O’Shea
Ajayi
Hegazi
Townsend (reluctantly)
Livermore
Krov
Sawyers (Bilic won’t drop him)
Pereria
Robinson
Diangana

Here are the only five subs I would consider allowing that SJ does not need to be replaced.

Austin
Grosicki (gone off the boil a bit so bring him on later fresh)
Furlong (If CT is playing terrible, he comes on)
Zohore (last 30 minutes for Austin)
Brunt
So if we lost semi or Hegazi what we doing?

When? When is he going to improve? He's 27...he's not a youngster which some people seem to mistakenly believe. Can we just accept he isn't very good and never will be.
Unlike our dodgy keeper, he hasn’t played the majority of matches, the more he plays the better he will (should ) get

So dear boy.....why is O’Shea in the centre not been considered earlier?
For instance , I think that Furlong was very unlucky to be taken out so surely keeping him in...and maybe trying O’Shea and semi together ...should have happened 6-7 matches ago?

Imo Furlong isn't very good.

Totally disagree on Furlong I rate him, I was not happy when he got dropped but O’Shea has more than proved his worth
the road to the summit has dips, keep the faith when navigating those dips !!

That was my point...O’Shea in the middle with semi....looks a potential best (and future) pairing?

Not really. Hegazi clearly the best centre back in the club.

All i see in terms of CB pairings is Hegazi and Ajayi. Hegazi has been colossal of late and Ajayi is fast, tall, tackles well and pings some cracking passes out. Bartley is a constant worry for me.

Townsend if the only option is the one i'd go for rather than right footed players over on the left - hated that since it started with Nyom!

Strikers - it has to be Austin. You saw how much it hurt him on Friday - he's got a fire in him and the team need that.
