I touched on the extra covid rules in France a few days ago it seems to be going down badly.

The government will not say it of course, but it's fairly clear now that the plan is to vaccinate everyone who will have the jab, everyone else can take their chances, thus achieving herd immunity before winter (jab or infection).

Same as I said earlier, can’t say I disagree with that plan either. It makes sense to me.

You're right in what you're saying but I don't get that it's supposedly being kept quiet.

For the little it's worth and of course it's stating the bleeding obvious but Spain's top court has ruled aspects of government enforcing lockdowns illegal and unconstitutional. The freedom of movement is a basic human right.

Funny that just as Ibiza etc get moved to amber list.

I thought I had just recently voted to stop the freedom of movement. So it can't be against basic human rights?

What have you voted on to stop freedom of movement and why?

Any government stopping it's citizens moving freely internally is certainly a breach of human rights. The good news now is that any Spanish citizen fined by it's government over lockdown can now sue them for the money back. In no way does it reduce any damage caused but at least it should hit the government in the pockets.

Apparently working in a pub which is soon to go maskless and distanceless is not enough of a reason to get my second jab 2 weeks early  :-X

I worked through the first lockdown out in the public, no face mask/ppe etc. It was fine. If you had any of the health issues that covid ramps up then i would have thought you would be jabbed by now anyway as priority mate?

That's completely different. All that means is you need to show a passport to go on your jollies or fill in paperwork to get a job abroad. Lockdowns were forcing people inside.

Phil why did you vote for Brexit if you felt it meant stopping freedom of movement? I am lost.

I've avoided this thread of late basically because I'm sick to death of Covid-19. I think there is one glaring error and it is beginning to impact Health and Social Care massively while I'm sure it could be with others sectors too. Isolation notifications are through the roof, up 700% for July already (and it's only the 15th) in the care company I'm at. The need to isolate if double jabbed should come at the same time as the lifting of restrictions because because absences will potentially go through the roof.

If in doubt delete the app. I've never downloaded it tbh, but there is no way it would still be on my phone now.

The app was only ever advisory. If you get a text from NHS Test &Trace that is legally binding/enforceable.

One person at my sports club developed symptoms overnight and now anyone who went to the pub after training may have to isolate, which could be half the club. Lovely stuff

Just been told by a worker at Droitwich Hospital, which is a private hospital, that because there are so many covid patients at the Q E, that a lot of private hospitals are being used, for the overflow.
Droitwich has been told to expect several new patients, some with covid symptoms.
The NHS is going to shell out a lot more money again.

I have just moved my second jab early via the online booking. It won't let you get it any earlier than 8 weeks from your first. Just in case anyone was wondering.

I get my second this Sunday.

Regarding the app, I only used it to get into places on holiday. Once i was in i turned it off and now it's deleted completely. When the NHS are telling their own staff not to use it, you know it's a bit of a joke system/app.

The NHS tell staff not to use it because due when hospitals were full of Covid patients, you'd be in constant contact with potential hits, so you'd have entire wards having to isolate, because the app doesn't account for PPE.
