It has been announced this morning that club legend Cyrille Regis has passed away suddenly due to a heart attack last night at the age of 59. I'm absolutely shocked and gutted Rip Cyrille.

Genuinely shocked and very saddened by this news. Absolutley worshipped him, met him a couple of times and was always a gent.

Massive shock. Saw him in the fanzone this year and tried to pluck up the courage to talk to him, but felt nervous as he is/was a genuine hero of mine.

RIP Cyrille - fantastic player and a lovely man.

I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times and aside from being a great player, club legend and ambassador above all he was a great man as well. RIP Big man!!

I can't believe this.

I grew up watching this man and he and Derek Statham were my first two heroes. Can't believe he's gone.

I wasnâ€™t around when he was playing but I was only saying to my dad a few weeks back that I love watching old clips of him as heâ€™s the perfect kind of striker, so exciting to watch and as everyone says; seemed a true gent. The word is used too much but HE IS West Brom legend.

Thanks for providing my dad with some memorable moments that Iâ€™ve been able to look back on with him.
