Pleased I saved the money on 200 mile round trip. Not in least bit surprised with the 0-0 scoreline. Pulis football means play deep, give possession to the opposition, hoof it forward and hope for the odd lucky knock down or set piece. We haven't a Gera, Koumas or Tony Brown to feed in midfield so it has to go long. Or wide to MacMannaman, the only player to get you out of your seat.
I'm not sure about Rondon yet.  Works hard, but we need to see quality touches on the ball. Still consider Berahino has quality touches and finishing ability, but his attitude has to be right.

I didn't watch Saido go off, so I can't comment.
Glad he has got the chance to go forward.
I didn't like what he did, but the team comes first.

Same old story  -  no attacking ability from midfield whatsoever. Not a single midfield player understands how to make the runs beyond the strikers, and none can put a striker through with a decent pass.

Or are they under instructions not to venture beyond the strikers?

Jesus Christ!

Blame the manager today. Wrong shape to start with then persisted with this wrong shape. Can't play 442 with Yacob and fletcher in the middle let alone with Gardner on the wing.

Rondon struggled throughout. Looked jetlagged. Lambert looked off the pace and has a bigger backside than Sean gregan. Gardner industrious as ever but doesn't offer anything of quality. Fletcher offers very little in that formation today was no different.

Mcmannaman showed glimpses then was subbed just as he was getting into the game.

Manager interested in not losing rather than winning. 3 points there to be taken today if we set up more adventurously.

I hate the fact pullis has turned my football day into now just checking the result.

Absolutely. I struggle to see the point in watching Albion under Pulis. I took one look at the lineup, saw Gardner and Lambert starting and knew exactly what to expect. I managed about 10 minutes of the first half before I resigned myself to just check the score after the game.

Oh well l guess it's the result that matters so I will go on checking the score after the games, if I can be bothered to.

Um, what a poor decision! Maybe show him Man U v Liverpool now and hope that they can redeem football?!

I don't want him being a Man U fan.

I'd rather he didn't follow football than glory hunted.
Whenever things look bad, remember the Port Vale, Grimsby and Walsall days... not so bad now, eh?!

Im sure we will win when we need to. Havent had the easiest start but we will undoubtedly win a few at home

Do we not need to win now? Get some points in case we lose the odd game later on? I'd have thought against a mid-ranking team, at home, we should at least TRY to win.

That was dogshit. Absolute tripe.

The back four were ok, Yacob was good too.

Lambert and Rondon look a pair of carthorses. Gardner is a terrible footballer and McClean isn't any better either. Struggling to see what Fletcher offers at the moment.

I think everything was summed up when Myhill was time wasting, at home, with ten minutes to go. Terrible.

seems like neither team cared today, the most action i got was a little sh*t kicking my seat for 90mins behind me and screaming like a little girl every 5 mins! - will be changing my seat ASAP or snapping my card up, think second option is best atm!

we couldnt pass the ball, couldnt run with the ball, garnder is pants he must be great at noshing pulis off to get into the team week in week out regardless how poor he plays

rondon looked so tired (due to international) he was second to every ball and struggled to get onto anything -- but pulis keeps him on and takes off lambert for saido

personally i couldnt give a pooh what saidos done or said, he done more in the second half than most our squad over 90mins and thats saying something! but where was all the boo's and ignoring him that most people claimed they would do on here? or is this forum just for the fans that dont go to the games? because when he came on the whole bloody stadium lifted i thought messi was coming on for us they way everyone reacted!

for once im glad i cant make away games, need a break from the shower of pooh we are playing.

on the plus side, clean sheet and another point.. better than a loss i guess :)

What, with 5 games gone? I would've thought your Norwich, Bournemouth, Leicester(possibly), sunderland etc at home are massive.

Unfortunately I can't make any games, so I watch on a stream or a "pinched" Sky go.
And here was me... home and away during most of the 60's.
It is hard being an armchair supporter...Cost comes into it such a lot.
That aside, this team makes me feel that the football which is dished up, is just to make up the numbers in the Premier League.
Please take me back to the days when we had the desire to win.
Yes we lost occasionally, but at least we tried.

Annoyingly we have kept Gardner whose on more money and no better than Dorrans. Also released Mulumbu and have fletcher whose less mobile and doesn't offer a great deal going forward.

Can't believe mcmannaman was replaced by McLean and not gnarby. Morrison should have come on for lambert not Berahino.

If you can make 2 personnel changes and nothing happens either tells me that we had another 9 awful players or it wasn't necessarily the personnel that was the issue but the shape and tactics.

Solid point but awful game to watch, no link up play with forwards and midfield playing Fletcher and yabob makes us solid but wofull in the middle going forward. Evans looks a better defender than Lesscot, Maca looks good and are only Midfield threat.

My take on it.

Johnny Evans was class today, complete composure and good on the ball.
Yacob was good as ever, and McManaman is our only attacking threat right now, albeit he still cannot play past the hour.
Berahino didn't deserve an applause which will only add to his attitude, singing his name was pathetic.
We need to sort out our attack, defensively we're fine but need more creativity.

And we'll just be able to switch it on like flicking a switch for those games when we haven't remotely had a crack at it before? Except possibly Sunderland, the teams you mention could score goals at the Hawthorns, based on the season so far. If we can't, we're going to regret all the games we didn't try.

Gardner is an easy target. Plays his role very well and does the job asked of him. Thought he did well today and protects his full back more than any other player.

We look so much better in the formation we utilised against Chelsea. Not sure why he's persisting with two strikers, apart from maybe because we're at home. Drop Lambert put Morrison in, and swap Gardner with anyone and we'll look much better.

Evans had a solid Debut and I thought Rondon did ok despite his obvious fatigue, he really worked hard for the team. Mcmanaman was very direct and threatening, theatrical dive but I still thought it was a pen, our only really attacking threat. Berahino looked decent when he was introduced, I'm afraid we need him desperately at the moment.

To be honest neither Mcmanaman nor Mclean were direct IMO, sometimes, rather than the fancy tricks, you just need to turn the afterburners on, neither did.
Personally, I have'nt got too much of a problem with Pulis's long ball game, but neither Lambert nor Rondom, could control the ball & lay it off.
IMO it wasn't the tactics that let us down this afternoon, it was the players' execution.
If it was easy, it wouldn't be Albion
