Craig Gardner must rank towards the worst players to have ever been a regular for us in the premier league. Except in 02/03 we had good reason to have the likes of Andy Johnson in our starting 11.

I don't even see how he gets in the team to offer defensive solidarity, he undoubtedly works hard, but his passing puts the defence in danger and his tackling is usually reckless.

First two games of the season he's been a liability - he'll inevitably get booked, smash a 30 yarder into the lower stratosphere somewhere and then get subbed 80 minutes too late - at which point Mcmanaman will actually offer a threat.

On the positive side, we aren't losing and after 60 mins or so if we bring on someone with something approaching pace or creativity - we may sneak a goal.

Pulis tactics spot on so far.

Rubbish.
More to luck than judgement.
Do you think we'd still be 0-0 playing like this against Chelsea

Well we aren't ?
Don't get me wrong , I'm not a fan of Pullis but he works his strategy and that will be 0-0 ht and then get one on the break or corner, esp away at teams like this.
If youre going to get told off, get told off for doing something not for doing nothing..

That is what Pulisball is all about. Being 5th from the bottom.

Screams of "Run him, run him" from Pulis aimed at Dawson when he's one on one with their left back.  Shouldn't be Dawson running the full back but one of the wingers currently occupying the bench.

No passing ability
No ball retention
No pace
No width
And in my opinion, not much of a clue !

and .....

NO GOALS

Exactly, what were you expecting??

Samba style football 3-0 up at half time minimum.  ::)

I'd like to see players playing in their natural positions, some width, new signings starting and us to string more than 3 passes together. Too much to ask?

Saido's talent is being wasted. As someone else so eloquently put it this feels 11 v. 9.

Rondon in at 61 minutes!

What's the excuse for so little possession time - is it the quality of the Watford megastars or is it because we don't want to commit anyone but forwards beyond the half-way line?

We've been approaching the game like a non-league team playing away to a Prem team in the FA Cup.

Rondon's on - it remains to be seen where the service will come from for him.

I see McClean's been put on the right wing with Morrison on the left. I guess we're guarding against playing with too much (any?) width.
