1984 vs Stoke - I was 9.  Sat in the Halfords with my mate and his dad.
Won 3-0 and remember us scoring very early doors.

Same again this weekend PLEASE!!!!

West Bromwich Albion FC / The cost of losing our final game...
« on: May 15, 2011, 08:52:21 PM »
...in monetary terms is astounding.  Reportedly £800K per placing up the league - if we manage a win at St James and other results go our way we can finish an unbelievable 8th, with a prize-money of roughly 9.6 million.
Worst case scenario sees us finish 14th and picking up around 5.6 million.

Step aside Roy, JP's giving the teamtalk next Sunday!  :D

Can't really add any more to what's been said really.  Morrison in no CM and hid for most of the game, Jara was poor, Meite calamatous, Cox quiet, Tchoyi baffling... a bad day at the office really.

Second half was better (could it get any worse though?) after they got their third, but only because those hiding stepped up when the pressure was off and we had a bit of a go.

Wouldn't mind if Roy has a look at certain players over the next two 'meaningless' games and seeing who's got the ability to take this club forward from next season.

On the flip side of this result though... WHAT A SEASON WE'VE HAD!!!

If only Meite hadn't balls'd it up for us that could've made it very interesting

Can't believe how poor we've been. Wolves look so poor at the back yet we've not tested them properly at all.  Tchoyi is simply too erratic.

uhhrr??? lads , I promise I ain't a dingle, but bloody hell theres some over confidence here?? Wolves have beaten some quality sides on their home ground, on any given day a premier league side can beat another one, thats been the story of the season so far, we will need to be right on our game to win cause theres no way those inbreds will put anything less than 120 percent effort in, can we take a reality check as stating theres no way they can beat us is a bit arrogant in my opinion, we are clarly the better side, at home though wolves can also be a decent outfit, especially, unfortunately, when the odds are aqainst them.

I do believe the 1st goal will be massive

Couldn't agree more mate, especially with the first goal comment.  Doing to them what they did at our place and retaining the ball for long periods might not make for an exciting spectacle but it'll get their "fans" (I use the term very loosely) on the backs of their players - nick a goal at that point and we may be sending them on their merry way!

Would love to see him start with Pete at the Britannia.  Huth will need untying at the end of the game if those two can click!!

Absolutely over the moon to nick a goal at the end and rub their faces in it, but the game itself was awful.  Too cagey, a new formation and system to try and get used to and against a Wolves team seemingly content to hold onto the ball in their own half and not venture forward.  Thought Olson relished the atmosphere and played v well, but at the other end Fortune - dear me.  Shocking display.
Fair play to the manager for changing it round and in all honesty I thought it smacked of desperation when he brought on Reid and threw Jonas up front... but what do I know?!! :D
