General Football & Sports / Re: Darren Moore

I haven't seen loads of Leicester in their recent run of form but did watch them against Plymouth where they were vulnerable in transition and especially behind the full backs.

Corberan likes to setup 442 out of possession so with that in mind, I'd like to see two of of Wallace, Diangana, Fellows or Johnston as the two with Phillips in one of the wide positions.

Personally I wouldn't mind to see us set up 433/451 with maybe Phillips in central midfield like we did against Leeds under Darren Moore, we were very good in transition that night.

Moore did show a bit of tactical awareness didn't he? What happened? Too much reliance on his coaches?

Pathetic decision. The FA Cup is losing all its magic. Such a shame.

Lost it's magic a long time ago, look at the previous winners just all the big boys no point anymore their 2nd teams are vastly superior to most 1st teams

Plus all the prem clashes picked for TV so boring, fact Palace vs Everton was picked for TV this season was a disgrace

Said it many times before, luckiest team in the world. Hate them
Absolutely

Gayle was never a sending off, changed that outcome completely
Pens against our kids
Played Derby in final instead of Leeds (how Leeds never saw that game out I have no clue)
Goal Decision System fails and they grab a draw vs Sheff Utd and ultimately stay up
Last night Martinez yellow card thing

Hate them more than Wolves tbh

He's definitely not as bad as many are painting him.
An earlier poster said that he was a scorer of great goals rather than a great goal scorer and I think that's correct.
He reminds me of Rondon in a number of ways, hold up play isn't the best at times, never shirks from doing the hard work; scores a few but misses plenty. Like Rondon the more time he has to think about a chance the less likely he is to score it. He's improved from last season and that's important.
I think some would be more appreciative of him if we'd been able to rotate him with either Dike or Maja (or both) but we haven't.

You've hit the nail on the head there, as a squad player he's perfect and it's just the brunt of the responsibility has fallen on him and I think I was harsh on him earlier in this thread, he's had to muster the majority of the striking this season and he obvious is limited in ability but I can never say he's not given 100% ever.

Preston ticks booked! Blimey left it late almost sold out picked my usual corner brummie last game of the season spot!

The Spurs game season we went down still lives long in the memory, first time I truly seen the Hawthorns like that (was too young to remember great escape) what a day that was!

The overreacting to Soton is hilarious they aren't prime Pep Barca you know! Defensively they are the worst of the 4, stay in the game you'll always get a chance

I think we need one more win should be enough, can't see next week and Sheff will be tough, Hull have some tough fixtures so hoping it doesn't go to the last day...

If we do get in then maybe finishing 6th maybe a blessing if Ipswich finish 3rd or ironically we could end up playing Soton anyway lol

Leicester fans have been slating Maresca all season even when they were running away with it so all those slating Albion fans saying no other clubs fans slate managers etc etc etc, they do. Its not an Albion thing, its a football fan thing.

I've only seen 90 mins of Leicester once this season and that was their opening game and they weren't great and lucky to win if that's how most of their games have been not surprising they want bim out

It's like DM he was only 4th because of the quality of our squad that season, and rightly sacked because we definitely should've been in autos and now look where DM is...

Very unprofessional today. Ok Ballard did for Maja at their place but to lose a game because players seemed to have a vendetta against was crazy. BTA getting sent off cost us and Wallace who should know better getting booked for a foul on the same player is just amateurish.

Completely agree. Let him be the pantomime villain for the fans but players wholly disappointing

Anyway on the game, BTA poor hold up play and touch cost him today

That said in hindsight today may not be so bad as it will kick up the backside as you learn more from defeats than scrapping 1-0 wins

Next week is a write off I feel like Leicester won't crumble again now they've been given a chance again

4 points of Seff and Preston needed minimum

God what a division this is!!

Had a peep at the Leicester forum and no surprise how they are feeling but surprisingly a few of them are tipping us to win the play offs!

Crazy thing is Leicester still have autos in their hands, next week will be very very interesting I'm kinda excited lol

Well you can update that stat now to same amount of losses!

Pressure on them you never know, could work in our favour.

Yup we know first hand almost bottling it under pressure under Bilic and then when the pressure was on Brentford they crumbled!

Yep, a win tomorrow sees us almost there.

In this crazy league here’s something I just noticed; we have lost only 1 more match than Leicester.

Wow that is stat! A shame because if we managed to sort our away form out earlier I reckon we could've challenged for Autos

Everyone looked at the Leicester game hoping was them on a holiday having wrapped up the title and now look! Beat Sunderland and that is a free hit with all the pressure on them!

8 way relegation and 3 way autos promotion battle could go down to last day, this league is something else!

3 poor games in the spin, worrying even if unbeaten.

Massive massive game Wednesday especially if results go against us...

Rotherham going to have nothing to lose even moreso now

They didn't dominate us, apart from their two goals tell me what chances they had? We were on top for large majority of that match, should have had a pen, their keeper pulled off a worldie. In what way did they "dominate" us? Plus CC being sent off made a huge difference

You people acting like they had shot after shot and we couldn't get out our own half all game!

Ipswich & Leeds worry me more than Soton

I will admit I do slate players quite a bit at home watching on the box but never at the games it's just fruitless like others have said you're there to support

Now we starting to get players back it's put us in a difficult position what is our best 11? Most of this season we've been playing with what we have now the real thinking begins for CC

Still iffy on him but BTA is absolutely better than Wallace playing that role. BTA scores the harder chances and misses the easy ones

Leicester are shocking, I said it they've flattered to deceive all season. I'd rather play them than Ipswich or Leeds.

That said Norwich if they win these next 2 games they're definitely ones to watch

We need a win today 100%

Also, Swift has been atrocious recently and his certainly the type of player you don’t need in a game like this. Diangana meanwhile has 13 goals contributions in 28 games this season.

This is what I dislike modern discourse is all about stats nowadays, bottom line he has been performing poorly iiregardless of whether he chips in with the odd goal or not.

You can't watch his performances over 90 mins and say with a straight face he performed well, he is too lightweight easily gets shrugged off ball and often either runs into blind allies or decides to take on too many people which consequently makes us lose possession

I've got no love for Leeds or Ipswich but I'd be howling if Leicester bottle this  ;D

Reminds me of when we almost bottled it Bilic season!

Just enjoy him playing well and being here atm.

This obsession with demanding we sign a player, at all costs, because they’ve scored a few goals is just silly. Who knows what our situation, league, budget is?

He’s playing well and that’s all that matters at the moment. Long may it continue.

Exactly! Grady comes to mind...

People need to remember he is on loan putting him on show for other clubs or us to sign perm

You are right enjoy him for now and cross that bridge when we get to it

The Huddersfield forum is pretty entertaining reading folks bicker about CC lol one called him the best tactical manager and other said him finishing 3rd with them was a fluke lmao I sense some sour grapes

We do have a phenomenal coach, only flaw is maybe he sometimes overthinks but the fact that all the players praise him I think says it all! I can only imagine what we could achieve brining his own players in without budget restrictions

UTA!!!!

Definition of game of 2 havles, 5 point cushion in tact, another 3 wins and a draw might be enough

MJ massive upgrade over Sarmiento

Sorry Grady and Wallace offer absolutely nothing

The Field fan club are probably going to have a field day with this, bottom line it was his only 2 goals this season and bet you many people forgot he was even playing for QPR, he had what 5 different managers here and no one fancied him so I don't buy this idea he was treated poorly.

As for the game, CC got is wholly wrong system and personnel, Wallace as a CF experiment needs to end asap he's ineffective playing with 10 men esp away from home. We were overrun in MF all night and he took of our only outlet for a CB????

We got a point because we playing QPR, a better team and we lose 4 or 5 their CF was awful, they had so many set pieces and they were all so poor (or just well defended by us)

Last 1.5 performances are worrying...
