I thought Racic looked fine first half in a 5 3 2 but as soon as we switched systems the pace of the game passed him by .

That 2nd half free kick and his defending for Preston's goal sum up his time here , for me he offers nothing more than what we already have.

I'm a big Carlos fan , he was my choice for the job from day one.
For 18 months he did a superb job under difficult circumstances behind the scenes , I don't think many can deny that.
I understand he's lost key players in Okay and Kipre , you can add Townsend to that because we don't have a proper LB Carlos will use at the club (he's not having Frabotta) . I've said for a while we look unbalanced as a side and that had improved a bit with Styles at LB but as soon as he can he reverted to Heggem there and that effected our balance again Yesterday and lead to the ultra safe passing around the back yet again .
He hasn't been helped by the form of Wallace , Grady and Swift vanishing but he's not helping himself with what seems science based selections and substitutions . What had Dobbin done to deserve a start at Preston ? , Carlos's choices are looking more confused by the game .Strongest team from the off then make changes , old fashioned maybe but this data lead thing isn't working at all .
CC is still a young manager ,  I don't think he had 6 seasons as a head coach ?  Now is not the time for rash choices and I'm confident the owners won't do that but its clear he has lost his way and I'm hoping he goes back to basics instead of overthinking as it seems about every team we play.
I'm keeping with him just yet.

Which I find quite staggering in all honesty. The last few games have disappointed me too, but we are fourth in the league and have been on an upwards trajectory ever since he arrived...keep the faith chaps
CC was my choice before he got the job and you are correct we have to look at the bigger picture .That said I cannot argue with anybody who brings up the style of play and lack of goals at certain times . It's not been always but there have been some very dull performances and at the end of the day the paying public want entertainment .
Thin lines right now . ( P.S stop bring on Wallace for Maja ) .

Played well attacking and seemed a little quicker in his passing although Oxford didn't press him as much as other clubs have , what did worry me was the huge gaps he left behind him off the ball .

This no forward on the bench has to stop , if Cole can't play 20 mins somebody needs outing for signing him . Lobbing Wallace or Dobbin up top achieves nothing and to keep doing it is on Carlos , waiting for an injury prone Dike is madness too .

I'm sick of seeing us line up with no striker on the bench , as soon as Maja went off we collapsed at trying to hold the ball up.
Cole might not be up to it over a season but he's got to offer more than lobbing a winger up top from when Maja goes off .
This side doesn't score enough goals overall to achieve much this season.

MJ was dreadful, if I remember correctly also lost the ball before the goal....
He was poor but does give us balance , Grant is a backwards step and I'm surprised Carlos has carried on with him so far.

Hate to say this but I thought it said MarkW hahaha! I’ve no idea if you know tactics haha but please do give me your opinion anyway :P
;D 4 4 2 ;D
There's no flow or balance in the side , Racic is struggling .
Id go back to basics in Mowatt and Molumby , despite struggling Tonight I'd put MJ in for Grant too .

Tidy on the ball without being amazing. Woeful off it.

6'4 but spends most the time on the ground after being outbattled by a little fella.
This league has hit him hard IMO and now he's being targeted.

I do wonder If he has too many options now , seems to be intent on Racic playing which has unsettled the midfield a bit in my view .

I love Jed, he has a part to play in the squad this season but he is not a starter anymore
Love him too but we should be moving on from him and Grant starting for us in a bigger game like this.

Good price for us , not convinced it was the right one for Faal himself as he's behind a couple of players there for the one wtriker place.

That move and finish yesterday will become the blue print of our season. Fellows exposing his full back and laying the ball across to the likes of Maja and Grant. He is a clean striker of the ball as you could imagine that BTA would have sent the ball back down the motorway in a similar position.

He is technically better than I have given him credit for recently. He is certainly much better at holding the ball up. Interested to see how he progresses this season as given his finishing abilities then he could be in for a hatful this season.
Always been a technical player , good on the ball.
The question is can he be a regular scorer at this level.

Er… Aldershot last season!
Far stronger , Bartley/ Pipa/ Mowatt/Chalobah/Dike/Pieters started that game .

Where will the kids get their next minutes?
Jan FA Cup I'd guess

I suspect he'll do well at Coventry , Robins will improve him in my humble . Not a dig at Carlos .

No sorry, it stinks of the **** that Lai left us in.
I'd hoped the days of quick fix signings with no future profit had gone with the likes of Heggem signing .
If Cole proves useful I'll eat my words .

Hope for the best but this stinks of Ian Pearce  :'(

Granted Zohore was a pretty poor signing but the injuries to Dike and Maja could not have been anticipated. We cannot pay another chunky wage for a striker without off loading another player elsewhere in the squad.
I agree but selling BTA now would weaken our forwards even more and I don't trust Pearce one bit to find actual goal scoring forwards to replace him , I'd sooner sell from another area ( Okay by the sound of it ) .
Correct , you can't predict injuries but Maja despite looking a good player has never been a regular scoring here only a weak Ligue 2 .

22
Some of this could be Thomas-Asante's agent angling for a new contract and rumours to the effect that the player would be happier staying where he is play into that narrative.

It is a tough one for the club. Sell him for around £3m and he has a great season at Hull we look rather foolish but at least he hasn't left for nothing. Offer him a new contract and he doesn't improve we have saddled ourselves with another relatively expensive player with limited resale potential.

I don't know maybe we have to back ourselves to replace a player we bought for £0.3m with £3m.
Buying / loaning forwards has been by far our weakest area going back to Zohore and its got worse really .We can't trust Dike to stay fit , Maja not much better so far and not really a regular scorer in his UK stints . I think we need to add to BTA not sell him , I certainly don't want to see wingers rammed out of position up front this season.

23
I'd sooner work on Asante's development this season and offer a new deal now , I know there's areas he needs to improve but he's come a long way (movement being a key area for me to improve ).
Lets not forget he had to play a lot of games due to injuries to the other options and didnt get much of a rest ,  one more season then see where we are with him in my humble.

For those talking about Cleary we need to remember he lost a season pretty much with two awful hamstring injuries , I think the Club have done well for him with another year .
Needs to get match fit then out on loan asap.

Overall played very well since CC arrived , can't really argue with the new deal .
