As I predicted we got a thrashing.  You can't expect League 1 and PL2 players suddenly manage the chasm of speed, thought and reaction that is required to play Premiership teams in one single leap.  But there you go.

We were just trying to lull the Premier League into a false sense of security ahead of HMS Albion sisping the playoffs. Phase One very definitely complete  ;) .

I suppose with 18 months left and after a good half season so far he's just putting the feelers out there. Bloody agents.

Putting the feelers out? More like a hungry octopus on speed grasping for whatever he can get his client plus whatever he's 'entitled' to in commission. Yeah, bloody agents looking out for their clients. And themselves  ;) .

Not sure it's really fair to criticise some of the players seeing as they were playing against a team way above the quality.  What do we expect?  That Swift and Grady were suddenly going to have a decent premiership defence scrambling?

A bit of application would have been nice.

Think it's a Euro footy site taking a stab in the dark to be fair.

Courtesy of his agent performing some serious gymnastics.

Getting rid of replays is a disgrace same as loads of games on Thursday and Friday. The FA cup is the most historic tournament in the world and it's been totally watered down to favor the big boys. Tanworth robbed of a cash cow replay down that London that would have helped finance that club for years

I'll tell you what else is a disgrace. Tamworth charging adults £42 a head for an FA Cup tie. They've lost out on a replay but a good number of their regular supporters refused to pay the exorbitant £42 admission fee and missed out on some magical moments.

Ironically he rarely conceded late goals with us. I know there was Oxford this season but I can't remember too many other occasions.

We conceded late against Oxford and Sheffield Wednesday under Carlos Corberan this sea. Last season we conceded late goals against Middlesbrough, Huddersfield, Blues, Southampton (twice if you include the playoffs) , Leicester, Sunderland and Ipswich. Didn't check his first season with us.

That's yourself and SmethDan  (I think it was a long time ago) that have said he is slow on the turn, and that does seem to suggest he still isn't ready.

Today was a bad day for all the defence and those meant to protect them, against very strong opposition so it would be harsh to judge him on this alone.

We should give him more opportunities long term, but that isn't going to happen now, so it is best that he goes back out on loan to Wycombe as a potential promotion should do wonders for his confidence and he needs to play games to improve his game and hopefully become a vital player for us in the future.

Yes that was me, well remembered given it was a while back. Posted it in response to someone suggesting we should play him on the right of a back three. My response being if we did use him in a three he should play centrally with more mobile players either side of him. At the same time if used in a back two I suggested he'd be better on the right side of a pairing so I'd have preferred to have seen him alongside Heggem yesterday instead of Holgate. Still, it was what it was. Minutes under his belt and a bit of experience against better players than he's faced in League One. All part of the learning curve.

Nixon saying Blackburn wants Schlupp from Palace but if they can't get him then they will move for Wallace

Bit of a leap given they play on opposite sides of the pitch.

And like Balis who do you think was realistically better ?

I'm sensing angst. There's really no need. I haven't stated anywhere on this thread that I'm either for or against any appointment. Apart from Russell Martin that is which was a bit of a given from me. Balis is being wary. That's healthy.

Did you actually read my post ??
I’m not sure that there’s an actual “reaction”
What I said was pretty clear
Any sensible person wouldn’t wish him bad
Social media is exactly that …social…so open to all and all includes some idiots
Being a footballer that is out injured long term,it may be considered that dancing about on tik tok/face book/myspace insta might not be the best idea …

Not sure how you can find an issue with that but each to his own eh ?

I'm in agreement to be honest.

So your writing him off before we have even kicked a ball under him. Steve Cooper has been out of management for over a year. Graham Potter was out of work for nearly 2 years, Who from the realistic options did you want?

No I don't think he is to be honest. My take from both of Balis's posts is that he's expressing a genuine concern while hoping for the best.

I agree with his reasons for not bringing on Tyler Young, they were 1-0 down until stoppage time, the kids hardly figured all season so not as though a regular even as a sub.

Cue another miserable joyless git, timing impeccable as ever  ;D  ;) .

If change comes into my life I hope it arrives in the form of a voluptuous blonde with big knockers and a filthy imagination. Not too fussed if she's bald to be honest. And I want to win the Jackpot on the Euro Millions too please. Cheers in advance  8) .

Sean Dyche spotted boarding a number 74 bus at New Street Station heading for The Hawthorns.
😜

Should've caught the Metro, the Soho Road's a bugger this time of evening in particular.

I'd play our best team here but wouldn't risk anyone with a slight knock like you might in a league game. I would be interested in seeing if a midfield three would work although fear Maja would be too isolated, maybe something like:

Palmer

Furlong
Bartley
Heggem
Styles

Molumby
Diakite
Mowatt

Fellows
Maja
Grant

Not a bad shout so long as it becomes a 451 when defending with Fellows and Grant covering the full backs out wide in the 5.

Of those listed I think Bar sounds most interesting but does he have the experience? I don’t know a lot about him.

I saw what you did there  ;D  ;) .

I'm willing to bet that there will be people on here who start to judge before that. But it's all a bit of a pointless discussion at the moment. It takes as long as it takes and we'll know the choice fairly soon I'm sure (I anticipate the person watching the cup game on Saturday). In the meantime, there's absolutely zilch that any of us can do to speed things up, so really no point in any of us getting our knickers in a twist.

Sounds painful. Good job I paid extra and invested in a job lot of mankinis courtesy of Shein. Top tip. Shoulder straps eliminate the risk of getting anything in a twist. As does Veet but that's another story for a different time. And quite possibly a different kind of forum  ;D .

In talks with Rene Hake, Ten Hag's Assistant at Man U According to Romano. Interesting!

Noticed he was in at 4/1 this morning. Seems to have come in from nowhere. Very interesting.

It’s amazing how fortunes can turnaround in football.
It wasn’t too many seasons ago that Bournemouth FCwere a total non-entity languishing in the lower leagues and now we are expecting a big loss to them and soundly beaten as posted above. Frightening really.

Correct. And yet when they were languishing in the lower leagues they still managed to knock us out of the FA Cup at their place despite being an apparent non entity.

Pile on fweind 😂😂
I’m very clear what I am on about thanks
There was (yet another) reference to the “Corberan detractors” when asking if postecoglu should be considered …
Bit strange really
Ange is still in position,we wouldn’t pay that sort of salary ,we are very advanced in terms of new appointment.so im not sure what they were actually on about ??
Additionally the “Detractor” thing is a moot point as Corberan walked so there has to be a replacement.

The rest of your post suggests otherwise. At the same time I'm happy to take your word for it. All that matters at the end of the day is that you understand what you're on about and that what you're on about keeps you happy  ;D .

Hopefully as good as Dobbins

And there was me banking on a more expensive downgrade  ;D .

Not expecting anything other than a defeat here.
It'll be good for some of the fringe players and young talent to get game time although due to not playing together regularly I'm expecting a disjointed performance.

In a way it's a shame that a new head coach isn't in place for the game (at time of writing) as they could have had a chance to see first hand how those players perform.

I imagine the team will look something like (although PL2 side do play on Friday against Everton):

Wildsmith
Frabotta
Holgate
Taylor
Nelson
Bostock
Racic
Whitwell
Heard
Sule
Cole

Subs: Cann, Diomande, Heggem, Styles, Diakite, Mowatt, Diangana, Wallace, Love

I'm expecting a lot of rotation but that reads like an unserviced helicopter flying headlong into a hurricane. Like many I'm making the journey down and although my considerations won't be considered regarding selections it would be nice if we didn't stroll into the game with our pants around our ankles while wearing a smile.

Wonder whether this means some young Everton 'talent' heads in the opposite direction.

Aha. I think I must be getting my point across.

That's as maybe, personally I'd prefer a proverbial kick up the backside over an actual kick in the nuts so it's Dyche over Pardew for me. Not that either event is likely to happen but I'd be keeping an eye out for any pigeons or seagulls on laxatives passing overhead if I were you  ;) .
