Does anybody seriously think Reyes Cleary is anything over than an extremely average lower league player? Liam Delap? :) are we serious….
I think none of us know, and given the options available this might be when we do find out,

Chasing a goal with five or ten minutes left plus stoppage time, bring him on and let him write his own song. 'Dreams can come true........', there's always time for a bit of Gabrielle  8) .

how many instances have we seen of players getting a chance through fortuitous circumstances coming good?
Maybe Reyes will be the next?  He has certainly been Jonny on the spot in his formative years.

Regarding Wicky, I'm not at all sad that he's not coming to the Black Country.  I wasn't impressed  by his stage-managed training video posted here.  He seemed to be shouting encouragement without doing any actual coaching or giving any instruction.  Contrast that with the initial videos of the  Corberan era.  He had the back line constantly shifting from side to side against the attacking threat and explaining what he wanted in other situations.  Basic coaching I know but the team needed that when he took over.

Bullet dodged - or just bad aim.

Football management is a truly stressful occupation.  Mowbray's true friends should try and dissuade him from returning.  Great guy but would need young assistants.

But Mogga could have our Spanish bloke (Abella?) and Mozza alongside surely (if he wanted them)

Not convinced about Hake to be honest, but it is not my decision. Hopefully stats will influence the owners, who seem to be moneyball types.

I have done some reading this morning and I am not convinced in any way by Hake,
Wicky is a better option in my opinion, Fischer seems to be out of running but he would have been my top option (from the left field list).

In Dan’s defence, there is nothing bizarre about it in the slightest.

The club should have been well aware that Corberans agent had him on manoeuvres and that was the ideal opportunity to commence due diligence with potential candidates. That is not disrespectful but forward planning for when the scenario arose. Similar scouting happens with players and it equally applies to managers too.

We’re now 16 days following Corberans departure and we’re still seemingly no closer to an appointment.

Ashworth who was a very canny operator and knew how to run a football club took 14 days to appoint Di Matteo after Mowbray left, and then 5 days to appoint Hodgson after Di Mattteo was sacked.
16 days over a holiday period where you are reviewing folks from all over the planet, then arranging interviews, agreeing package for them and their staff and waiting for decisions back, getting this done quicker would be flaming amazing in my opinion

Edwards has gone from Luton -Graeme Bailey

Wonder if Bilkul rate Edwards?

Weird one, an Amazing season followed by disappointment (predictably), followed by dross.

I would consider him, if I was Bilkul

Username checks out ;)

I think I’d favour Wicky over Fischer seems like a bit more of a track record.

No to Southgate and no idea about this Grosso chap also linked.

Is that Matt O'Grosso ??

I imagine he has come up against a fair few cloggers playing for Wycombe. At 22 he is past getting protected. Give the lad a chance, he might just grasp it with both hands

He clearly is a goalscorer but the problem he has always had and still has is that he carries too much weight, this means he is very rarely fully match fit. Walsall said the same thing that he just couldnt get fully fit.

Its up to him and only him now, get properly fit and shed the excess weight, hopefully then he starts to get a chance or continue along the way he is and never make it at a decent level.

I hope he chooses to put the work in as he is no doubt a goalscorer but we will wait and see which way he goes.
Perhaps he needs to have a chat with Grant about his coach

Just doing some reading up on Wicky (from wiki).
This stood out to me
"He became first-team manager on 21 April 2017, replacing Urs Fischer after a boardroom change.[18] Days later, the team wrapped up an eighth consecutive league title,[19] and on 25 May won the Swiss Cup with a 3–0 victory over Sion at the Stade de Genève."

This was his first senior team manager role, which was on coat tails of Urs Fishers success,
then at end of the very next season
"On 26 July 2018, having finished as runner-up in the domestic league and having been eliminated in the semifinal of the cup as well as having started the new season poorly, with elimination by PAOK in the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League, he was dismissed"

Yes its 2nd in the league and a cup semifinal but this was in Switzerland with a team that did the double the previous season remember,

He then goes off the the US u17s and then to Chicago fire and gets chopped before returning to Switzerland and lasted a season and half at Young boys.

It sounds to me like he has been fortunate to land jobs with big fish in the little swiss pond but failed to maintain what was there before him.

Interesting that Urs Fishers name is in there as a success and he is apparently now an outside bet.

If you're not getting a game at Walsall then you're not making it here.

Time to let him go.

Devils Advocate here, In a top of the table squad who are on a fantastic run, would you take the chance of disrupting that?  You may well be correct that he is not the standard we require, but it could just be circumstances are holding him back.

The performance at Swansea will determine if the in game management was dire or intelligent, until then it's a moot debate

You all know in your heart of hearts how this plays out,
He comes back and builds fitness during the latter half of the season, the club justifiably decline to take the risk and do not award him a contract, someone with loads of cash like Everton take a punt and he becomes the next Lukaku.
It is written in the stars

Impossible to pass judgement, some players need games to get into form, this lad has been hard done to, so far, I for one refuse to discount him yet

Apparently we have spoke to Moyes but as it stands neither party will be going any further.

By all accounts he isnt completely sure if he wants to get back into management, think he thought he would back in the Prem now but thats not looking likely, was told it was a very amicable chat but unlikely to go any further.

I think the names being linked seem quite sensible if not overly exciting, although its a good job still, due to us likely being in the championship next season its not the attraction it has been the last twenty years.

We are likely going to be cutting our budget again in the summer and after a number of years outside the premier league, out budget will be more competing with mid table clubs rather than relegated or yoyo clubs budgets.

Whoever comes in will have to have an eye on next season and know they will rebuilding a team, thats why i am not sure if Eustace or Williams would be coming because it will be a bit of sideways move for them in terms of what they have to work with as they are already doing similar jobs at their current clubs.

I have said my choice would be Mowbray based on what he has done at other clubs similar to us but failing that i would be looking at coaches who are showing promise in lower leagues or maybe coaches who have had success but also setbacks (maybe a Schumacher type) somebody who is hungry as its a big challenge.

I think it's very interesting that the club has been speaking to Moyes, it COULD imply that they are interested in experience rather than a novice, on that basis my second favourite(Behind Moyes) Bilic could come into the reckoning
