Good game.  Thought we looked really bright and don't understand the negative comments about the performance in the match thread.  We forced Sheff Wed all the way back for huge periods of the game and deserved the win.

Armstrong looked excellent.  New keeper was good.  I think with how deep Sheff Wed got I'd have liked to have seen more from Price.  That's the one position that I think we still struggle with - someone central to open a sitting deep team up.  Heggem really unlucky with his goal line clearance, would have been an amazing stop.

Saying all that, we lost the way for the last 10 mins but certainly didn't deserve to draw that game.  I thought Bartley's legs went a bit and he was constantly leaving gaps around him.

Looking forward to seeing this team gel a bit more - no doubt the transfer window strengthened us significantly.

Someone just got sent off after the whistle

Bartley.

...than a CC side who knew how to shut up  shop.

Did it though?  We conceded plenty of late goals under CC and everyone was critical how we'd drop off, try to see out games when ahead, and inevitable concede.

4
Molumby!!!!  Might be getting a yellow there  :D :D :D :D

5
Yet another late goal conceded.

6
Bartley has lost it here - he's way off the pace of everything.

7
Fair play to TM for the subs.  He went for it.

8
Don't get the complaints about Grady.  He's been the most lively of the front 3 so far.  I'm more disappointed with Price - he's offered absolutely nothing.

9
Thought we looked pretty good for most of that.  We pushed Sheff Wed back so they had all 10 men across their box.

Most disappointing aspect has been our corners - we've struggled to beat the first man.  Goals will come this half (for us).

He was just as bad as Mel, Irvine and Pardew.

Even game but once we got the goal we were brilliant.  All the attacking players deserve credit as they got forward and we looked like we'd score with every attack.

2nd half dropped off with all the subs and disappointing not to keep a clean sheet but 5 (five!) goals.

Styles has the best feet in the squad.

“Fellows will create the odd chance”…what am I reading?!

Thought we did more than enough to win that game. Grady played well and I was surprised he was taken off. Styles good too. I think I’d like to see Style in midfield which would basically mean giving Frabotta a chance.

More full circle things now that all of his old teams and us are in a row.

I'll own my comment!  I don't mean overall in a season, and I think Fellows is a quality player - but in games like today, where teams sit deep and know what to look out for, he can struggle.  Both MJ and Fellows saw a LOT of the ball in wide positions but how many times did we create a decent chance out of it?  The first Molumby miss and the goal are the only two I can think of but between them they crossed the ball 14+ times, both cut inside a lot and they were dispossessed 5 times each.  Thankfully MJ's form has picked up so he's started taking up some of the slack.

Basically, if you'd said to me that Fellows was going to have the kind of possession and space he had in this game, I think highly enough of him that I would guess he'd create a hat full of chances for the team.

We had a lot of shots but not really that many clear cut chances, still easily deserved the win over the whole game.  After Grant, Heggem had the most efforts on goal which gives you some kind of idea on what kind of game it was.

Oh, I also thought Styles was excellent all game.  Late on when he was given license to roam I thought he looked very tidy and we should look to use that more often in games we control like that.

Yet another draw. Defensively we’re all over the place when teams work it out wide, seems like we never prevent crosses and they always manage to evade all our defenders in the box. Finishing and decision-making from some of our players is abysmal.

Hopefully TM can find a way to start putting these dross teams to the sword. We just seem incapable of winning enough games to really push into the playoffs.

As I said above - look how many times we get Fellows and MJ into good areas out wide and how often we create a good chance vs what the opposition seem to do to us.

Molumby did miss two good chances on the face of it, but both not that easy when you consider they were on his wrong foot. Fancy he would have got one of those on his right

I kinda agree that he has two wrong feet!

I think the first one was naturally onto his left foot but he tried to steer it in right footed and got it wrong.
Which makes the fact that on the second, he chose to hit that with his left foot, despite it being a much more difficult strike.

We played alright overall.  We just don't have the cutting edge we need.  MJ and Fellows will create the odd chance - but considering how often we work possession to them it's not really enough to create 1 or 2 chances.  No real pace from midfield.  Molumby gets a nose bleed when he gets forward.

I think we should have subbed Mowatt off for Cole earlier.  Stoke weren't offering anything in attack so having two holding midfielders is a bit of a waste.

Someone needs to tell our players that trying to hit the ball at 110% power will often lead to wild shots.

A forward roll by Grady to celebrate?

He just fell forward as he was pushed off balance when he scored.

Molumby should have scored again.

We're not actually playing all that badly - we just don't have a cutting edge because we don't have a striker holding it up nor pace from midfield, nor someone who will skin their man and create space.  Fellows to some degree but players are wise to him - how many times is he going to cut across the edge of the box to lose possession?

Not sure it's really fair to criticise some of the players seeing as they were playing against a team way above the quality.  What do we expect?  That Swift and Grady were suddenly going to have a decent premiership defence scrambling?

Talks are underway.

As is the search party to find the balls that went into the east stand.

Not sure I’d fancy him, was never the same after the skiing accident  ;D

Would still be better than Pardew.

He had a good game today - kicking was on point and couldn't really do anything about the goal.

Change should have been Bartley for Styles , swift is much to lightweight rancid should have come on for johnson , As for Cole he does nothing should give one of the kids a chance

Bartley for Styles is a good call.  Stick Heggem LB and Bartley in the middle or play 5 at the back.  I like Styles but his weak point are deep crosses, he's not the tallest of players.

Typical though.  I'm not a fan off the changes we make like this - when we do 1 or 2 subs every few minutes.  It seems to leave us disjointed.
