Anybody else notice there hasn't been a single thing posted on Twitter, Whatsapp etc (not on FB so unsure) since the Mowbray departure announcement. No happy birthday posts, U23 news, even Carabou adverts! Silence is deafening! Even Shilen and Andrew havent posted anything, thank you Tony etc like they did when Carlos left
He was sacked after taking us from 6th to 10th what on Earth are they going to thank him for?

A lot of the comments to the press have seemed odd. The one about winning the last three games because we were playing three of the bottom clubs for example. The press can twist things as we know, but Mowbray has enough experience to know that. I prefer to remember him for his first stint, and glad he has gone before more abuse came his way, which he does not deserve.
Just looking back to the first stint, we were champions with 81 points, losing 11 games. Not exactly a fantastic record, and must be one of the lowest winning points tally.
And we had many poor games that season Phillips and co dug us out of. That's why I say our title winning season under him was overrated.

Anyway some Blackburn fans said that Mowbray is a nice guy until things don't go well then he throws everyone under the bus. That's exactly what's happening...

The whole club is stale, I would fancy Blues to go up next season far more than us unless we can be smart with the new managerial appointment and smart in the market too this summer. If we managed to attract Gary O'Neil I wonder if he would push to sign the Korean lad (Hwang?) from Wolves, not getting much of a look in and was scoring goals for fun last season
Don't forget Wrexham if they go up aswell their spending power will probably be huge.

I know people (on here and Nestor) are saying to take time to get the appointment right, and I have no doubt that this won't be a quick appointment.

But there is some merit in getting this done quickly-ish. There are going to be a lot of similar size clubs looking for managers in the close season:

Southampton
Leicester
Boro if they don't make playoffs
Norwich possibly

Them and others could take candidates off us

EDIT - Norwich announced they'd sacked their manager about one minute after I posted this!  :D

They probably saw what we did and realised no point waiting until the end of the season

Cardiff fans must be fuming we didn't wait until the end of the season.

GON now favourite. The other names in the running are either unrealistic, or just tedious.
Aren't odds pointless doesn't it go off who places money?

The players aren't responsible for Mowbray's shocking in game management at the likes of Plymouth etc. The players aren't responsible when they're not coached properly & management does not watch the opposition and just tells the players to play with vibes

Yes some of the players are not good enough but let's stop with the conspiracy theories and just admit Mowbray was a shocking appointment.

Surprised Dani Rohl isn't on the list,  although he may end up at Soton.
Christ I really hope we don't even entertain the idea of Dyche. Look how well Everton are doing without him.
5 wins out of 14 games is hardly doing well.

Lewis Cox said it was Grady that Mowbray confirmed would be leaving. Likely Swift too.

Not groundbreaking news but very welcome news.

Lewis Cox

"About 30 mins before his dismissal Tony Mowbray confirmed Grady Diangana will not be at #wba next season. Hinted same w/ John Swift. Not big surprise reveals. Head coach now gone but ownership lead on recruitment/contracts etc."
Yet he brought them both on on Friday to save our season... deserved sacking for that alone.

That was a disgraceful performance from him today.

At one point he jumped for a header but didn't actually try and head the ball. It's like he tries to put just enough effort in to trick people into thinking he's trying.

I hope he feels some shame for getting another manager sacked but he comes across as thoroughly unlikable and I doubt he cares he contributed to Mowbray leaving.

Mowbray got sacked because he wasn't good enough not because of Kyle Bartley.

Yes Bartley is awful but let's be clear Mowbray got sacked because he is an awful awful coach.

Given what we have seen over the last few games with attitude and performance levels of the players, it makes  you wonder if it was deliberate particularly from the older and longer surviving members of the squad.

Many of those will have realised that in the event of reaching the playoffs and maybe, just maybe,  promotion would see the end of them in a highly paid job and to delay that happening would be in their personal interests.

To have a largely collective drop in performance levels is strange to say the least and certainly not acceptable. Has Mowbray been stitched up deliberately we ask.

Tinfoil hat much? We've been shocking for months this isn't like us playing amazingly then dropped off. When the gaffer expects you to win every game and doesn't look at the opposition what can the players too? We just don't look coached at all

Cooper's Championship record is pretty good, got into play offs twice with Swansea and took Forest from bottom to premier albeit with dodgy calls in the final & the last manager overthinking on the day according to some Huddersfield supporters

Football probably won't be pretty but as long we get results who cares? Just look at Burnley today don't think their fans gave one toss how they dug out a result.

Enjoy retirement Tony, I'll be surprised if he took another job. Only postive out his tenure was seeing 5 goals at the Hawthorns (admittedly probably the highest point of the season in general)

I still think recruitment has been poor & obviously there are still some bad eggs in the squad that now need to be rid of

Still a heck of a lot of work to be done but slighly more optimistic now about next season give how fast they've acted here

He was out the door why on earth did we give him another contract? the last manager's only big misstep (assuming he wanted him to extend)

There was no lack of leadership under the last manager so this all stems from one man Tony Mowbray. He's managed to make the players revert back to pre the last manager

If Mowbray gets the summer we will be heading to the Jurassic period. We will be doomed. This man cannot be allowed to continue after Luton.

This is worse than Steve Bruce as we actually played better under him. For a manager to do no homework on the opposition and expects us just to win games is pathetic.

It's all very much player power to me.

They have seen off more than one manager for my money.

Forget ability, they have it at this level but they have the worst attitude I've known in a squad and it's been this way since our PL relegation in 2018.

Under Bilic their attitude stunk and it still does.

Diangana & Ajayi are gone so that leaves Bartley, Furlong and Grant left I believe from Bilic era?

I’m not sure what more he could have done other than decided to stay on his line?
Plus we still had what 3 players behind in goal?

Unfortunately he’s shown he’s no longer got the nous for the job , we need to thank him and say good bye , we then need to bring in a young ambitious manager who can do what for us what Sunderland have done .

Thank him for what? Taking us 6th to mid table? No thanks needed just sack him and move on

Apart from a 10 minute spell when we scored a comfortable afternoon for Derby

We never looked like getting more than one goal

But I bet Mowbray enjoyed the game because we had more possession then we did in the Watford game!

We actually had a slim hope of at the very least having something to mathematically play for but to be slipping into the abyss with 2 games left in unacceptable. The players, manager, it’s on all of them for me. I don’t think Mowbray will be removed but with the benefit of hindsight it’s been a woeful appointment.

Not with hindsight though. I have been screaming since before he was appointed that this would end in disaster. He is a rubbish manager who never should have been appointed in the first place all down to the board simply not having a scooby doo once the last manager left.

Says in his pre match press conference that he "expects" us to win our last 3 games because we are playing teams at the foot of the table. To me this sort of statement is counter productive and just acts as an extra piece of motivation for opposing teams. In anticipation of replies which say something along the lines of "What do you expect him to say, that he expects us to lose?", I would say it would be far better for the manager not to say anything at all in relation to predicting results, as more often than not it will just come back to bite you.

This is the arrogance I've been talking about he's been like this since he was appointed. Glad people have finally picked up on it.

Just get the dinosaur gone before he takes back to the Jurassic period.

You can blame the players all you like but when you only look the opposition with 3 days before a big game that is pathetic. This man is arrogant and deluded that he thinks all we have to do is turn up and win and surprise Pikachu face when we don't.

Get this man out out football club first & then deal with the time wasters.

Spot on Tim and welcome to the forum. Like yourself, and probably influenced by Mowbray’s first management stint with us, I welcomed his appointment but, it’s all gone pear shaped and agree, it’s time for retirement.

It boggles my mind that people fell under the illusion of his first spell. It wasn't even that great we had many many poor games under him even in the title winning season not to mention all the support the fans gave him in the relegation season only for him to stick 2 middle fingers to us and go to Celtic

Under RDM in 2009/10 we were not only statistically better but played much better football too

Molumby, Furlong, Mowatt, Bartley.

As soon as they got their new deals they all dropped off
I noticed that about JM & thought can't be a coincidence
