Field came on as a sub and made a crucial block to stop a late Brentford goal; which directly contributed to Charlton winning again.

Field also started for Charlton today, beating Reading 2-0 away from home to go 2nd in the league. Field had an excellent game by all accounts. Withdrawn on 75 minutes after twisting his ankle.

At this rate we'll need to recall both Leko and Field in January as Charlton could be competing for the top 6!

I have to say that I am very surprised by how well Lee Bowyer is doing in management, I always felt that he was a bit of a thug and not the sharpest tool,

Yes his wiki is not a great read re incidents.....but his nose is clean as a manager and deserves to be judged afresh on what he's doing.

Charlton fan I know is impressed with Field, maybe he can do it at this level if given a chance, we've never given him a good run yet gets written off so easily by some.

Leko hit and miss with them, does some good and then totally the opposite, no inbetween.

I see Field challenging for a starting place come January or the beginning of next season. Better than Harper.

Reading the match report, it seems Leko was heavily involved in most of Charlton's attacks. His goal had a big deflection but he did turn his man inside out. I'm fairly certain he won't develop into a prem player but it's great to see him compete so well in this league. Hope he can keep it up.

I think they're thriving based on being genuine first team players on loan.

Here you can't help but feel even when we start academy players we can't wait for an excuse to drop them.

Field and Leko definitely benefiting from being on loan. I think Field might've got injured yesterday.

Great to see them both playing and doing well.

One note of caution though is Leko was brilliant for about 10 games according to Bristol fan I spoke to and then that was it and he didn't play again and was sent back.

Hopefully, he and Field will benefit greatly and play a lot of games and keep up a decent level of consistency.

I would love to know how much Stoke offered for Field if the bid was actually made and not just made up.

Had nothing to do this last hour so decided to have a browse of the Charlton fans forum to see what they think of our two loanees so far.
In general they think Field has been excellent and are surprised that we loaned him out. Hoping we don't recall him in January
In general they think Leko could be great if he had a brain in his head. Make of that what you will

Hoping Melbourne can take the opportunity. Seemed to have a disappointing time in Scotland, haven’t looked promising in pre season a couple of years ago, so it feels like this might be his last chance while in our books. Needs to really take this chance now.

Leko just scored for Charlton.
Burke had an assist and nearly score few days ago, good start for him in Spain.

Leko dropped while Field remains unable to break into the Charlton starting midfield.

Both on bench vs Fulham.

In fairness with Charlton starting so well it’s going to be tough for Sam to break in

Some clubs rotate, some don't. Charlton do, both Field and Leko are doing well at Charlton according to some who watch them regularly.
