Mad Mick in to 11/8 at Coral. WTF? Good god no. I won't be setting foot inside VP again if he's stupid enough to appoint that idiot.
Did you know we won the European Cup?

I did before the ridiculous appointment of Mcleish. McCarthy would be up there in the ridiculous stakes and would make the fans even more angry.

It would be a very dangerous appointment and Lerner should seriously consider the consequences of his actions before he appoints Mick McCarthy as the next manager of Aston Villa football club. Really there are Albion fans out there who might just die of laughter ;D

Mick is a decent individual and not a terrible manager, but for Lerner to choose him after Alex McLeish would show how utterly out-of-touch he is. In the NFL, you can get away with picking whomever you want, but it's entirely another matter in English football.

Maybe not terrible but very "old school" negative and just got another team relegated. An Irish version of Alex McLeish. Surprised that American sports fans are so ambivalent about Coaching appointments or is it just English football that is so obsessed with the cult of the Manager? You are right if Lerner does appoint McCarthy he really is out of touch, he has to get the fans back onside with this appointment.

In the US you don't feel like you have the power to influence the decision. You have to take what the owner gives you. If you cause enough trouble for the club, your dodgy owner will just move the club to some other city that's desperate for one.

There also seems to be more of a stratified "coaching pyramid" in European football, with fewer people deemed acceptable choices for a coaching job.

Well would they do with the seat he doesnt sit in anyway I wonder.

It would be a terrible appointment though. Absolutely no chance. It will be Lambert or Martinez I think.

Maybe that is Randy's next trick Glasgow might be short of a football club in the near future "Glasgow Red Socks" has a certain ring to it don't you think?

Wouldn't that be amusing? Sell Villa Park to some shady real estate developer, buy or lease Ibrox, and he's ready to go.  :D
