They booed O'neill.

It's tight, but I think they're just going to survive. :(

Against Sunderland they looked as dross as they have all year, really not preforming well at all. if they don't find a way of scoring some goals thankfully they might be dropped right in it! Let's hope they are beaten by Bolton on Tuesday then our boys can crank up the pressure! provided we turn up wanting to win... It's a very young inexperienced side they are having to field i fear for them, if only Sunderland's goal stood today as it should have!

One more win will do for Villa. However, if they keep drawing and losing games, who knows? If Bolton beat them and win their other game in hand they're on level points with Witton, with Wigan and QPR only 2 points behind.

If Villa are to go down, Bolton need to win at Seal Park.

forget it folks, they aint going to go down. the bottom of the league, thankfully, has been mighty poor this season and i just cant see bolton beating them tuesday. in a way, i kind of want our match against bolton to at least have some significance, so a draw would be the favoured result in a way they cant catch us up. i think its bolton bburn and wolves for the drop this year.

Will be a lot clearer after Tuesday, if you look at the Villa message boards, they think if they lose on Tuesday, they will probably go down, I think they may well be right.

They'll stay up.  I think they've just about done enough.

I just want to finish above them.

its very difficult to see them going down.3 teams currently below them will have to get above them for that to happen and their g/d is probably worth an extra point >:(

They need 1 more point in my view, which I think they will get even though McLeish is a dreadful manager. Sadly Bendtner had a perfect goal dissallowed on Saturday. Still, even if they don't go down it will be their worst season in years with a lot of re-building to do.

TBH Bolton look poor and I think it may be a case of Bolton not being good enough to get the points to catch Villa. Bolton have NGOG playing up front and he couldnt find his a**e with both hands, much less the back of the net !

If Bolton beat Villa, and we beat Villa, I hope we send the under 12's to Bolton.

I'm more than willing to sacrifice 3 points to see them go down.

i actually said in a previous topic i wouldn't want us to lose to Bolton even if it put villa in trouble, but, when i think about going to school in Aston for a year when i was 7 and the amount of bullying i received for supporting west brom i say put shorey in goal at Bolton and loads of youngsters in the team, maybe send the ladies team out, send the buggers down!!

Bolton are rubbish! - We would still bloody win  ;D

I agree though. All of our players can have an off day for all I care if it's in aid of sending the seals down.

I seem to remember how Portsmouth didn't really seem that bothered against us in The Great Escape game, knowing that our winning might send down Southampton.

So we should all go wearing Bolton shirts?  We could get Super Bob on the back to make ourselves feel a little better.

I just remember when the full time whistle went, they all went mental while we were silent waiting for the Palace result! Such a bizarre day.

Yes, they were being sold off in the club shop for a tenner. The pompey fans were getting 'POMPEY' in letters on the back.

Great, great day. It was very odd when they celebrated like mad when we scored and how they boinged along with us. Would love to see some decent clips on youtube from that day.

I don't particularly mind Villa, but I remember Paul Merson saying last season that we would never finish above them. So close to doing it. It always comes across as a bit paranoid to complain about it, but of all the pundits out there Paul Merson really is the one who strikes me as not liking us at all.

Incidentally, his predictions for this season were Pardew sacked first, N'Zogbia best signing, and Torres top scorer  :D

Don't take it to heart this is the same guy who thought Scott Dann was not good enough for Walsall and believed Newcastle don't deserve to finish higher than Villa because Villa have a better history.
