I saw yesterday that Huddersfield have signed 8 players so far this close season and 7 of them are foreign players brought in from clubs abroad. As we already know, the bigger clubs also barely feature a British player in their starting XIs. How are they getting round the home-grown requirement in their 25-man squads?

Just been on their website, and they only have roughly 27 or 28 players listed, including 4 keepers. Players under 21 also don't count.

I haven't read the whole article (by that I mean I've only read the title  ;D ) but this may lend itself to an explanation.

It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.

Our good friends at Everton have done it again. Fresh from having their pants pulled down last season in the transfer market, they have paid up to £50m for Richarlison from Watford. The actual deal is £35m up front with add ons. He scored 5 times last season, and according to the wfc fans when AWOL when Silva was sacked.

Does anyone else thing he is worth the money, because I cannot see it.........

He's one of them. Got loads of ability but I think the Watford fans are right went pretty anonymous after a while. The talent is there, the application?

Is he worth £35 - £50 million? Is anyone worth anything like that money?

I suppose he's worth what someone is willing to pay for him.

I'll expand on that ............. couldn't give a blank. Bores me. Dull, noncompetitive, showground for the "elite" clubs. Ruined football.

Glad we're in the Championship. Shame we can't win it and stay there.

If you don't care about the Premier League, then why are you posting in the thread about how much you don't care? I'm not having a go, I just don't get the mindset.

Bit like a conversation in a pub. I wouldn't care that Johnny is decorating his living room but you tend to join in the conversation.

Gold and black this year, but hopefully redecorating navy and white next year.

Marco Silva with a 22-0 win today Jacko  ;)

Afternoon mate, you've been remarkably quiet about the rest of their pre-season games culminating in a mullering by Mogga's men last night?

Bury 1-1 Everton
Lille 0-0 Everton
Porto 1-0 Everton
Blackburn 3-0 Everton

 ;)

Fulham about to spend fees of £20 plus million on 2 players this week - Mitrovic and Mawson. They have alledgedly spent £25 million plus already on Seri. That is some big spending for a club with Fulham's revenue.

Is it a surprise that the top league is dominated by the top clubs? Hasn't that always been the case?

Fulham have brought some decent players in to be honest, can see them and Wolves surviving which would mean two of the 'old guard' could be coming down.

As it stands I would guess at:

Cardiff
Huddersfield
Brighton

49 clubs have competed in the Premier League since it’s inception in 1992, 26 years ago. Only 6 clubs (12.24%) have won the title in that time. Two clubs have won it on one occasion and the other four clubs have won it 24 times between them.

Can you name those four clubs? If you can then you will see the common denominators are their income, their spend and the quality of their players
