Jacko won't like that he is Shane Longesque !

Seen enough of him in 2 matches to see he's got a better first touch and far better instinct for goal than Long.

Nowhere near the athlete Long is though, strange comparison a couple of them draw imo.

As an under 21, Morton wouldn't have to be included in our submitted squad list, however I really doubt he will come back and even make the bench. It would be such a damning indictment of our current forwards and I don't think Bilic is the kind of manager to upset the strikers we have

However, unlike several other of our players aged under 21 he doesn't even have a squad number.......

Returning players must be returning from a curtailed league, which Morton is. However, players who have featured in play-offs cannot be used by parent clubs, which means Morton cannot play for West Brom.

Sam Field subbed after a nasty head clash today.

He was Squad Number 35 for last season (2018-19)....

You'll remember he scored over 20 in his final season for Reading in the Championship which is why we bought him.

Seeing as Shane isn't an Albion player out on loan I'll wrap this up.

Those 6 goals a season sound like just what we've been missing this year though  :o

Yes we'll let you have the final word on Long for now especially as you commented in his athleticism above.  :)

Central midfielder Finn Azaz joins Cheltenham Town on loan in league 2.

Turns 20 in a few weeks time, can’t help but think this loan has come one season too late really. Heard good things from those on here and twitter who have watched more of the under 23’s games than I have.

I hope that he is one of many who go out on loan in the next few weeks, as keeping a load of 18-19 year olds in the under 23’s seems a stupid tactic, even if you do need a few to help the kids stay competitive.

As a club we have been awful at getting their transition right from academy players to first team, with the only genuine successful case being Dara O’Shea , who, you guessed it, went out on loan at the right time (by success, I mean a player we managed to integrate into the first team at the right time AND get tied down to the right length of deal).

I like Azaz he's a good young technical footballer. The loan should do him good, it's exactly what he needs at this stage of his development.

link to Cheltenham game, Griffiths makes a big mistake early on but isn't punished, otherwise some good saves for what i believe was his first professional game.

Lincoln City win 2-0 with another Palmer clean sheet. Callum Mprton came off the bench.

Cheltenham Town lost 2-1, Griffiths hadn't actually conceded a goal from open play until the 92nd minute. Finn Azaz also got 90 minutes.

Rayhaan Tulloch got an assist on debut for Doncaster, before going off as the first sub.

Carabao Cup 15.09

Millwall 3 Cheltenham 1

Finn Azaz, who had just come on, has his first professional goal, a superb strike from outside the area.

Azaz had a bit of knack for doing that in the PL2 as well.

Callum Morton also has his first goal of the season tonight too in a 5-0 win for Lincoln.

Tulloch went off injured today for Donny Rovers (13th minute). Will be a shame if that's a bad one.

Palmer and Morton got another win at Lincoln, with Morton again coming off the bench. Sounds like Palmer had another good game.

At Cheltenham, Griffiths kept a clean sheet while Finn Azaz got an assist (but also subbed off). Griffiths seems to be doing really well but there are consistent comments that his distribution needs work, which might hold him back in the modern goalkeeping world (not hugely though).

Clayton-Phillips came on as a sub for Solihull Moors in a friendly loss to Hereford.

Pleased for the lad I reckon he is of   strong character a must for a good goalkeeper.
