Disgraceful, politicising a sporting event as a way of appeasement

Be far better if they actually engaged better in allocations of racism rather than just putting these on shirts

Being anti racism isn't political, it's common decency.

Couple of injuries to Sheffield United players apparently. Not sure which ones but bugger.
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.

You know what’s coming don’t you?  >:(

Looking forward to having some football back.

Do we know if sky are adding crowd sounds to the villa game tonight or are they going to keep it realistic and just add boos?

It is a bit odd all of sudden coming to terms with English football starting again tonight. Villa need 4 wins to stay up. Looking at their fixture list it is difficult to see how they do that without beating Sheffield United tonight. The Blades have a lot to play for themselves and I can't see them rolling over. Will be intriguing to see how this pans out.

The injured players were rumoured to be Fleck and O'Connell.

Double bugger if correct.

I can see it now. Villa jam a win tonight moving them out the bottom three.

COVID tests done over the next few days and Premier League finishes the season and Villa stop up.  :-X

It's Villa's luck isn't it?

They'll be desperate to finish it but it'll only take a few people to contract the virus and I'm not sure how they can?  If a player tests positive then don't the entire team have to isolate for 14 days?  So they can't play their fixtures?  I've got to be honest, it's hard to keep track of all the guidelines as they seem to change pretty often.

Can they get a pass if the other players test negative or is the test not accurate enough to take that risk?

NO. Only the player who tests positive is affected by the isolation period.

Positive tests are treated in the same way as injuries. I imagine there will be a number across the entire league where they say enough is enough but it will need to be an eye-watering number of players isolating all at the same time to move to a PPG scenario. With only 16 positive results in total out of 8,000 tests in 4 weeks, they will complete comfortably imo.

There are only 2 PL personnel currently in isolation.

I have doubts about that particular movement but I am all in favour of equality for all.

The response of the PL and FA in response to racism is pathetic.

The double standards demonstrate where their interests lie.

If a fan uses a racist term - banned for life & criminal conviction
If a player uses a racist term it’s a petty fine and six week suspension.

It’s a nice form of appeasement when they cannot be bothered to address the real issues

Team news for todays game has Wilder saying no injuries, full squad and no surprise selections. We will have to wait and see i guess.

Sounds promising, good stuff. Here's hoping for better weather than last night. It was lashing down over here in Erdington. Wouldn't want a repeat in case of the game being abandoned part way through. Can't be having that if the Vile are getting battered.

Spot on, 100% agree with the statement "Black lives matter" not sure about the political aspect of the movement though. I want equal chances for all.

The FA jumping onto the bandwagon is disgusting. They are constantly weak when it comes to dealing with racism but this is a nice, easy way for them to look good while doing nothing about curtailing it. Shameful behaviour.

Yup, exactly this.  One thing with the "Black Lives Matter" slogan is that it is really saying "Black Lives Matter Too" and that's how it should be considered.  If they'd gone with that from the start it would have been more helpful.

Can see a draw for Villa Sheffield tonight, I'm not really arsed about the other game.

Sheffield are really tough to beat but don't create loads whilst Villa create a decent amount but are shambolic at the back. I hope they lose 1-0 but can see 1-1 or something, either way a draw isn't ideal for them.
