Not sure whether this has been covered but his loan to Fleetwood means that he will be back from his ban earlier as they start their season earlier!

Surely this shouldn't be allowed?

Don't see the problem as long as there is no recall clause?

The new United shirt deal nets the club a staggering £51m a year from 2013/2014 it is this type of earning power which makes the Glazers debt irrelevant and the beatings of the United fans just so much hot air

Good thing Obama bailed out GM. Otherwise they wouldn't have been able to go on wasting more oceans of money on rubbish like this.

Blackburn's pre-season friendly with Dutch club NEC Nijmegen on Sunday afternoon has been cancelled because of the threat of fan violence. The decision came after claims that Rovers fans had been involved in disturbances with rival supporters.

A statement on the Dutch Police website www.politie.nl said:

"Supporters of Blackburn Rovers were involved in rioting in Deventer on Friday. On Saturday there was a confrontation with supporters of NEC Nijmegen. The deputy mayor of Nijmegen has decided to cancel the exhibition game between NEC and Blackburn Rovers. That match was due to be played today at 2.30pm during the annual open day of NEC.

"On the basis of serious signals to the police that a confrontation would take place again today, deputy mayor Henk Beerten, in consultation with police, judiciary and mayor Hubert Bruls, decided to cancel the match this afternoon. Today, 8,000 visitors are expected at the open day of NEC which starts at 12.30pm, including many families with children. With the serious threat of unrest in the Goffertpark around the exhibition game, it is not sensible to play this game today."

Blackburn issued a statement on their website, which read:  "Both clubs wish to express their disappointment that such a decision has been necessary."

The match with NEC Nijmegen was meant to be Blackburn's second game in three days in Holland after they had lost 4-2 against Go Ahead Eagles in another friendly on Friday.

There's some real knuckledraggers in this world. Wasn't one of Stoke's pre season games called off for expected trouble as well. No wonder most of Europe hates us.

Really?????   He was banned for actions in the Premier League, that must mean that he is banned from competing for 12 games and must serve the punishment in that league...surely that's just common sense.

Common sense would be for these bans to be based on time rather than matches. Really got no problem with Joey and QPR doing this unless he is recalled and plays a Premier League match that he would have originally missed.

In england though a ban is for any domestic game so all cups and league I understand what your saying, there must be a reason why it is like it is Im not sure it always has been the rules.

1-0 Chelsea in the Community Shield, Torres scoring

Chelsea down to 10 men, Ivanovic sent off, seemed a poor decision from a poor referee (Friend) to me.

Not all of us did and even saying that Bednar didn't clear off for 6 months playing golf basically saying screw you to the fans then coming back when he started noticing the money wasn't coming in.

I was one who didn't, but we're talking about the vocal majority.

As late as early last season there were posts on here about Bednar possibly being better than what we were picking.
