A lot of people saying Sunderland as well. Can't see it myself. Why would you leave a premier league post with premier league wages to drop to the Championship?

Surely Championship wages will be nowhere near as high as Premier League ones though?

Wouldn't be too shocked if he's got something sorted for China....will probably 'retire' for about 3 months first though.

Possibly, either way he's laughing - I believe he got a 3 million bonus for keeping Palace up, not bad for 5 months work and being allowed to spend 35 million in January.

I think they will be worse without him anyway which is good.

The question will be, does he still get it if he is not their manager in the 1st game of the new season?

Personally I think that the noose is slowly tightening on the Managers with a few too many dodgy deals in their dog's Swiss bank accounts    ;D

I wouldn't be surprised if he takes another job in August/September, but the transfer windows must be a nightmare for managers these days. They are probably a nightmare for several at the club but at least for those behind the scenes it's the time when they have to prove their worth to keep their jobs. The managers are probably in need of getting away from it for 5 or 6 weeks but have to keep up with the sagas that develop that infuriate us so much.

For managers like big Sam and Pulis who played and started their management careers in far more straight forward days, it must be a bit testing. Yes they get good money but it must be draining. Allardyce will know that if he sits back and enjoys himself for 4 or 5 months, then it's inevitable that some club will come knocking in Nov/Dec needing rescuing and he can look for another £3m bonus to keep them up. (same would apply to TP).

Like all millionaires.
It isn't the money any longer, it is the CHALLENGE to see how much money they can make.
What else can they look to?

Alladyce will take the rest of the year off with his family, and await for the phone to ring from the first Premiership club to press the panic button. Nice work if you can get it.........

I would want to press it just to get rid of Pullis.

Not convinced it's true as haven't heard anything else, but someone close to Allardyce said on the radio this morning that they think he may have lost someone in the Manchester bombings and it's that reason he decided to leave suddenly.

Interesting stuff going on at Southampton with proposed Chinese Investment

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/15301650.Saints_takeover_decision_expected/?ref=mac

I am a bit surprised as I thought that they had a solid financial cornerstone with Leibherr, but she wants to sell 80%. If it goes through it will be interesting to see what happens to them.

Marco Silva has left Hull City.

http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/live-hull-city-news-as-marco-silva-leaves-the-club-with-an-announcement-forthcoming/story-30353595-detail/story.html

Apparently he met with Porto the day before his meeting with the  Hull Board.

Palace looking interested.
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/may/24/crystal-palace-want-to-tempt-marco-silva-away-from-porto-move

Personally I think he was over rated. yes they played well at home (apart from against Sunderland and Spurs!) but were shocking away.

That appears to be the case. He must have revalued his life and decided to enjoy the rest of his comfortably with the England pay off and Palace bonus.

Yeah to be honest when I heard it, the presenter was saying that he probably shouldn't say it, but that it'll come out in the news anyway soon. Think he was getting annoyed of all the speculation about money, giving up on them etc etc
