He gets forward, its just what he does when he is there that is the problem. He overhits or slices most crosses and always has a missplaced pass in him. If by "top quality FBs" you mean anything above Championship level then I'd agree.

I just find it strange that people see signing players in all these different positions as priorities when, besides signing a LB, getting Dawson out of the RB slot is the first and easiest step towards progression. We could even do it by just signing a decent LB and shifting Nyom over.

Same old haters will always hate, same people that look out for errors of some but ignore theyre darlings

Bare facts of how well Daws has done in RB for the past 2 years, in comparison to Nyom who hasnt been as consistent hence why he didnt get in watfords poor back line. The same watford that we conceded alot less than over the past two years.

Daws will do for me mr consistent, if you think we could do better right now then get you need to give your head a wobble. 15mil plus in todays market with the bonus of covering two positions. Nyom hasnt exactly stood out there when given chance. Definately happier knowing hes staying and that the club can spend that money elsewhere

I've been well impressed with his two games in his more natural position of CH
A sound investment in my view

Had my doubts at times last season but this year he has shown his versatility and is well worth the contract extension

With Gibbs all but signed, do you guys think this mean Dawson is now a permanent starter at CB who will partner up with either Evans or the guy we signed to replace Evans?

I think sp, with Nyom at right back. To be fair to both of them they've had excellent starts. We've then also got Hegazi and Mcauley if we need to shuffle anything around

Expecting a long lay off. Foster raced over to him so I expect Medial or Cruciate or both.

Perversely will work out in our favour forcing us to play 2 proper full backs for the rest of the season.

Correct. We look short though with both him and Evans injured!

More chance of Hegazi filling in at full back knowing Pulis
It is not the taking part, but the winning that counts.

Shame, he's been ever-present and been playing pretty well too. Said on BT that he's started 91 of the last 92 premier league games for us

Unless he's filling in at centre back he's a hindrance to the style of play improvements people are demanding.

I doubt that Nyom will give us much more offensively and he'll definitely give us more heart in mouth moments defensively

He's miles better going forward mate. Absolute miles. Dawson is one of the most limited footballers we've had in the top flight

If Dawson is going to be out for a long time he will be a massive loss, one of our better and more consistent players.

Early Christmas gift for Jacko   :P

Big loss that, would have liked to have seen him at centre back with Nyom at right back between now and January with us hopefully buying a better right back at that point.
