All the best Ireland  8) .
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.

Hard luck NI. Evans was so close at the end there. Possibly the end for GMac and Brunt internationally.

Such a cruel way for a terrific qualification campaign to end - that decision to award the penalty on Thursday is one of the worst I've seen for some years.

End of an era for NI as I expect a few of those core players to retire and for O'Neil to get a job elsewhere.

Now that was a mad game last night, Swiss should have had 10, NI could have had 3.

Our 3 players all did very well, especially Chris Brunt, who was a contender for MOM .
Playing full back and had a number of efforts on goal,

Still think Michael O'Neill will go now as the squad will break up (age) and people will be looking to attract him away from NI
the road to the summit has dips, keep the faith when navigating those dips !!

Well played Sweden. They defended excellently and their players worked really hard.

Strange to have a World Cup without Italy.

Couldn't help but read that in the voice of Pulis.

Maybe Pulis could take notes from the Swedish manager on how to get defenders to defend excellently.

Agreed it will be strange not to have Italy at the World Cup.

Would prefer Ireland to win but I just hope that if James McClean plays that he comes through it without picking up any injuries.

England tonight remind me of another team... ;)

Doing well though so far the lads, Brazil are quality. That forward line is frightening.

I couldn't be happier.

Would love to see us Aussies do some damage in the group stage.

That may be the case but it appears that he is not the first choice of many fans.

Yeah there's apparent feeling against him due to him not making himself available for friendlies during his international career. Think this should be forgotten personally - not exactly a great shortlist Giggs, Bellamy, Mark Bowen, Osian Roberts

would have thought Mark Hughes would be interested now he's unemployed.

There are no so called big names on the list because Wales only pays a fraction of what managers earn in the Premiership. Giggs will need Osian Roberts as part of his team as he was a key factor in the international managerial careers of Gary Speed and Chris Coleman.

What an inspiring list..

The extra qualification places for world cups/euros may help him greatly.

I suspect it will end in tears.

Was always going to happen. Why I don't know. A disinterested servant to his nation who has nigh on no managerial experience. Shocking appointment.

I'm not trying to defend Giggs, he should have tried harder to make himself available more but....to an extent his career fell in the middle of two of the better periods of Welsh international football i.e. the Rush, Hughes, Saunders, Ratcliffe, Southall team and the recent and current Bale, Ramsey, Williams setup.
Giggs no doubt got a fair bit of pressure from his club manager when it came to international friendlies as Utd tended to be fighting on several fronts.
