His press conference and interview on the Albion website were fascinating

There was a clear emphasis from Nestor and Mowbray that we’re going to attack more, be more positive and I’m all for it.

I actually feel pretty emotional about this. I think our new owners have an approach to be proud of. I think Mowbray is a perfect match for what they want our club to be. Mowbray is my favourite manager in my lifetime. And then compound with his personal situation and similar situations my family have been in recent months - feels like a perfect storm, and a good one.

We’ve had a terrible few years on and off the pitch but this feels like a turning point, based on the foundations laid by the incredible Carlos.

I echo every single word of this.

Quite a range of emotions. Happiness, trepidation, but ultimately relief that he is well and back in football again.

Concerned over what seems a huge change of direction by owners in a short space of time

Is it a huge change of direction?

This is a much more pragmatic Mowbray than the 40 year old we had 18 years ago.

I am much more content with his period at Blackburn than Sunderland when you consider the owenrship he worked under there. Blackburn is often in turmoil and he managed that successfully so I would hope he can acheive the same here as we begin our rebuild.

I haven’t seen much negativity to reappointing him so it is an appointment that galvanises the fan base and has us singing from the same hymn sheet.

Not expecting miracles to happen overnight but looking forward to the summer to see us rebuild in a similar fashion to 07/08.

I thought this comment from Richard Stanford to be disgusting - he’s the operations and health and safety manager:

“This ground is safe. Sheffield Wednesday are still getting tarred with the same brush for what happened years ago. We will get our capacity back but there are too many people frightened to sign off the documents because of what happened years ago and that is what the truth is.“

This despite the incident earlier this season, the multiple breaches last season, and also includes a piece of concrete falling and hitting a young supporter.

This sounds like brilliant entertainment. Could anyone give us some of the juicier quotes please?

Happily - like a Saido I caught pretty much all five hours of it.

It got pretty heated and the fans nor Chansiri pulled no punches.

Particular highlights:

On his relationship with Rohl

- Chanisir stated he always backs his managers and when Rohl asked for six players in the summer Chansiri gave him 11

- He stated he hadn’t spoken with Rohl since December and that if the manager wants players then Rohl needs to speak to him. Rohls statements in the press contradict this.

- there are no players lined up for signing because Rohl hasn’t said so and that Chanisir doesn’t get involved. Despite repeatedly being involved.

- the fans then advised him to stick a meeting in with Rohl for tomorrow

- He accused Rohl of being “very brave” after criticising him in the press. He then claimed Rohl had broken their agreement of not speaking every day.

- he claimed there was no issue with their relationship but then said if Rohl wants to talk he will need to come and find him.

On selling the club:

- he claimed he was happy to sell the club if fans wanted him too. He then stated fans need to find the buyer as this isn’t Chanisiris job

- when fans asked for a price he accused them of crossing the line

- he told supporters not to bother coming if they’re unhappy. He accused the fans of having no right to protest and said they simply by a ticket to watch the game.

- he then claimed it was his club and not the supporters.

On Rohl/Southampton

- he claimed there was interest before being told to shut up by the comms manager due to breaching a confidentiality clause

On Shea Charles

- he claimed there was no worries about Saints recalling him as he wasn’t good enough for them

- Southampton call up during the forum and recall him

- Chansiri then states if they hurt us then we will hurt them

On FFP

- he stated he never asks for money from fans.  This was despite asking them to raise £2m a few years ago and having the highest prices in the league

- he accused rich Wednesdayites of not wanting to contribute financially to their club

- he then couldn’t commit to breaching this due to his cash flow issues.

He was repeatedly asked to shut by the head of comms.

He more or less said “what’s the point of this forum if you won’t let me speak”

Incredible SWFC fans forum tonight and major fall-out between owner Chansiri and Danny Rohl.

Go get him baldilocks.

I would also agree with this.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he resigned given the owners antics last night.

That being said, I stil expect him to end up at Southampton in the summer.

Farcical scenes at Hillsborough last night in a fans forum with the owner Chansiri

He had a go at Southampton because they had approached Danny Rohl.

Wednesday loan Shea Charles from Saints who has been excellent for them. The deadline to recall him was midnight just gone.

Saints called Chansiri after 5 hours into this fans forum and subsequently recalled him  ;D

You can imagine the reaction when he announced it to the forum.

Absolute muppet.

If Mowbray came back for a second time I just hope it would turn out better than it did with Giles and Atkinson when they came back to the Albion a second time.

I think we need a sense of realism that we're not a club that is blessed with the resources he had last time - there is no Koumas, Kevin Phillips, Zoltan Gera or Robert Koren so we will need to be pragmatic.

However, the job at Sunderland was pretty transformative under his tenure. He took a side who had just been promoted to the play offs where they lost in the semi-finals.

That was a young Sunderland outfit, and if the Albion are serious about reducing the age of this squad, then signing young promising footballers with the potential for resale is the way to go about it. I could not think of any other who fits that bill better than the style of Mowbray.

I don't know what you do for a living Gaz, but you sound as though you have a responsible position, so I'll ask you this question.

You are given a choice of two jobs, both which involves leading a team to hit a performance target. One job lets you chose your team members, the other doesn't. Which job are you going to chose?

I'm not sure that is necessarily relevant as the world of football is so unique and conventional wisdom does not apply.

What podcast is that mate?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2qN8aCAR2c

Talks all things football and parts around his health.

It’s a great listen. He’s got that buzz back.

He’s a massive loss - he really is. The gulf in quality between Maja and Cole is enormous.

I’d go Mowbray until end of season now.

Will be a huge summer coming up.

I am with this.

It’s an opportunity for both parties to determine whether it works.

He looks full of beans on that podcast yesterday which is positive.

Does Mowbray still take Mark Venus everywhere with him?

Yes he does.

I would absolutely love Mowbray - he delivered my two favourite years following this club.

That young Sunderland side that he assembled were a joy to watch. He also managed to do a very good job at Blackburn amidst the uncertainty of their ownership.

If we’re going to oversee a period of change, with a focus on a younger age of player, then I’m all for doing it under Mowbray.

Does it?

I'll re-sort this poll again.

I might have talks with Oldbury over some wages but these talks might fall down when it gets to my assistants Mark and Dexy.  :D

I thought he'd basically ruled himself out of the running as he doesn't think he is fit enough currently?

He did indeed.  Such a shame but here's wishing him a full recovery.

The club have done all this "due diligence" but seemingly forgot to discuss such a crucial fundamental like his coaching staff.

It really is amateur.

The tones of the responses from some on this forum are a joke.

You're meant to be grown adults ffs.

I expected a beating and boy did we get one.

It was a relatively strong side - it is a chronic shame however that so many of our well paid players are offering so little in return. It will be good in the summer to move most of them on.

A sobering reality check of just how far behind we’ve fallen.

Cant wait to win those play offs and watch this every week
