The problem owners and managers have is that they are "professionals" and as so have shorter term goals than we, the fans, do. We're here for life, so if you offered us a scenario that would take 4 years to gather an momentum at all, then 8 years to get to Europe and 15 years to challenge for the Prem title i think most would say yeah, sign us up. The owners and managers need results within a year or there are dire consequences.
Moore is hiring people he knows he can trust. It makes perfect sense. We might miss out on a few unknown talents, but also, we won't get massive wastes of space either.
Its the same problem as playing the kids in the 1st team. A kid will make mistakes, its part of learning, but those mistakes may well cost us goals and thus games (Leko in the Prem for example). I do wish he'd play the kids more, but it makes sense as to why he trusts a bunch of 28 year old journeymen more.
