Will Livermore have missed more games due to suspension than we’ve played at 15:00 on a Saturday this season?

Think this latest ban may be a blessing for us and force the manager into trying some different personnel and potentially formations. Although to be honest it’s not as though we’re flush with central midfielders any more and I’m not sure the Molumby/Mowatt combination offered anything more than we usually get with Jake.

Did a lot of running around looking busy and running sideways with the ball but looked very diminished of energy in the second half and in truth never really offered much.

Couldn’t believe he was surprised to be getting hooked off after his mistake at the back and failure to chase down his man afterwards and how long he took to actually leave the field when we were trying to push on.

Thought he was our best player on the pitch last night, really had vibes of his first season with us again. Hope he’s able to keep it going and get a run of good games under his belt, always rated him and actually prefer him to Bartley.

Was he playing last night or did we just bring him on to take corners and then take him straight off again? Talk about anonymous.

Just a bit of praise for Carroll who I thought worked his socks off against Blackburn. Wasn’t too pleased when we signed him but is certainly putting the effort in all over the pitch and is still very good with his feet.

Now if only we’d resort back to putting balls into the box again like we’d been doing under Val now that we’ve got a genuine ball winner up front.

Interesting timing. If we’ve started looking already and can get someone in relatively quickly, they’ll have a good chunk of time with the players before the next game.

No transfer window though so they’ll have to make do with what we’ve got. Now it’s time for the players to finally show whether it is indeed them that are the issue, or whether it was the manager

May be right but he had a totally knackered hamstring I believe - it ain't easy running with a serious hamstring issue. There are enough current problems, do we have to dig up episodes from several years ago ?

Oh totally. Just one of many examples of him having the heart of a mouse.

The club have only tweeted once today to congratulate the women's team. Normally we would get a tweet saying "we go again". Something is brewing surely ?.

Yeah noticed this too. Although it’s probably more due to the club knowing that the comments will all be filled with the same thing so it’s probably safer to just not post anything.

I remember him bottling a challenge in a game that led to a goal in our relegation season under Pardew. He should never have played for us again after that. The bloke is gutless.

Was it also Phillips that went down injured under Pulis just after we’d used our last sub and was told to carry on playing, to which he just stood in the centre circle for the last 5 minutes and refused to move?

Carrol the best of a bad bunch today. He kept their defenders in a game won freekicks caused chaos we just failed to utilize him and create anything but thats based on the personnel being used in the system otherwise a new system required

Had our best chance too and put himself about both up front and at the back.

Did well considering he was also playing in goal for Preston

I don’t think there’s any way he’s going to get the sack any time soon given the length of his contract, the compensation already spent on getting him here, and the fact the any new manager will still be stuck with the exact same bunch of players for the remainder of the season.

I didn’t realise he was playing until he waddled over to take a corner..

Completely anonymous and a shadow of the player we saw the first couple of games

Poor against a poor Stoke side. Really should have been 2 or 3 too

Reported on the radio that they had forgotten to bring their away kit apparently

Brilliant. I did see the tunnel reopening shortly after kick off and a man with a clip board come out making me think that they were going to be asked to change.

Was there any reason QPR decided to play in their home kit? I can’t have been the only one that struggled to be able to tell everyone apart at a glance.

We all know Phillips, has his moments. He's not a centre forward but when he's playing well he can be a handful. I thought Hugill did Ok when he came on as did Robinson. We looked more of a threat when Robindon and Phillips dropped deeper and narrower like two number 10's because they started picking the ball up in the hole in front of Millwall's CB's .

That was the problem today. Wasted 45 mins playing him as our central centre forward.

He won one header that he flicked on and held the ball up really well once.  That was pretty much it.

So was better than Phillips then.

What on earth went on outside the Smethwick at half time?

The guys around me were saying that the Millwall fans started throwing bottles over the gate outside and then broke through the gate. Sounded like there was a bit of a fight and then the culprits started being turfed out by the police.

He's a useless lump, and a very average championship striker who doesn't look like he'll ever score a goal for us. Nothing to be pleased about. Exactly the sort of player that mid-table championship teams load up on.

Thought he was one of our better performers in the second half and exactly what we needed against sides like this that one to battle in the air. Certainly offered more than Phillips in the first half.

Scrappy game, devoid of any quality. We should have known they’d come and bully us.

Needed more quality on the ball and less long punts forward.

Ironically scored our goal with one of the only headers we won in their box on the day.

Positives - hugil and robbo looked sharp after coming on.
Negatives - no plan b really. Looked sloppy and rushed on the ball. Kept persisting with long balls forward and balls into their box.

Oh and completely forgot about that penalty. Score that and we’re probably taking the 3 points. Didn’t look confident when he was waiting to take it and was saying to the guys next to me that he just needs to smash it down the middle. Keeper couldn’t have asked for an easier save. Missing a penalty should really be inexcusable as a striker.

Shame, the kids did well for 43 mins but then punished by a combination of £140 million worth of talent. I wish we would take the cup more serious, our first 11 would have given these lot a real game.

Part of me wanted a stronger side, but then we’ve picked up 2 injuries already tonight, plus Kipre getting clattered. Our first 11 does need protecting really

Men against boys and it shows tonight. We looked knackered towards the end and they’ve punished us

Definitely. Gutted for them as first 20 we’d done well. If we’d held on for 5 more minutes we’d have a chance second half. Now I imagine most are going to dread coming back out.
