Indeed, he's had awful luck with injuries. My mate's a Derby fan and he has nothing but praise for him when he's fit, shame he seems to always be injured

George Thorne has turned out to be a right crock

Hope he recovers though

It was a challenge that caused the injury.

Ive always believed that the top clubs need to support the lower league clubs be it through the transfer of players or the bringing through of good quality youngsters who end up playing in those leagues.

Im happy that our academy is producing players that are helping these clubs survive as they cant all make it as Premier League players

Sam Mantom left Walsall to go to Scunthorpe too, Walsall lost loads of players this summer for some reason.

Bonser would have had a fright last season because of how close they came to promotion. He doesn't like the costs associated with the Championship so is obviously holding a jumble sale to put a spanner in the works.

I would imagine they are struggling to compete on the wages front. Walsall is a very small club, and whilst Brentford, Scunthorpe and MK Dons aren't exactly powerhouses in the game, I would imagine they pay considerably more than Walsall.

Could be a long old season for the Saddlers!

I delivered some goals to Bristol Rovers yesterday, and Stewart Naylor helped me unload. He didn't drop anything. :D

Can you drop some off at the Hawthorns, I suspect we'll be in need of some goals at some point next season

Big Sam, who played one game for Albion, owes it all thanks to an Albion supporting priest:

I realise it's a long time ago but for some reason rick shepherd's name just entered my brain.
He was a pretty decent goalie for us ,stylish on and off the pitch.
Anyone know how he is and what he's up to.
I remember that photo of him with the stud marks in his chest in the league cup final against qpr was it from Rodney marsh's boots for the winning goal?
Must have been a foul, marsh was and still is a big mouth, full of his own self importance,a nobody in the game,me and Georgie best blah blah blah

Died in 1998 aged 53 unfortunately, couldn't find any further details of his death. He only played 39 times for Albion in 8 seasons but is fondly remembered by Bristol Rovers for whom he made over 150 appearances. Career seemed to end due to a fractured skull suffered in a match against Tranmere in '73.
