Awful news RIP Big Cyrille
It is not the taking part, but the winning that counts.

you were one of Albions greatest ever no 9 in a long line of no 9's, remember your first game against I think it was Rotherham   in league cup scored a pen, then went on to announce your arrival on the league stage with a superb goal against Middlesboro.
Met you on more than one occasion around town in your younger days and subsequently in the albion hospitality section , you always had time to talk to the fans and always made it obvious that albion was your first love.
you will be sadly missed  but our loss will be heaven's gain , what a strike force they have now with you and the "king"
RIP Cyrille

Wonderful player, true gentleman, people use the term legend much too easily these days, but this man was a true legend, not only a great player, but an inspiration for black players along with Laurie and Brendan. God bless you big fella R.I.P

Just found out about my hero Cyrille Regis. To say I am shocked is an understatement.

110% agree - the Albion broke down the barriers on black footballers. We should all be proud that he was part our club and the three degrees

R.I.P Cyrille you will always be in my heart and say hello to King Jeff
Condolences to his family

Sky Sports News didn't even run their usual title sequence, straight to a black screen and tributes. Nice from them, made me fill up though!

So terribly sad.
Cyrille sent me a signed photo with a personal message when he left for Coventry.
Still cherished.
One of the best players I've seen and one of the nicest people I've met
