Sadly this will be a good appointment.

Hopefully after last nights insipid England display someone will be on the phone to Steve to have a word about the national job......

Both appointments have the "poison chalice" about them, but he's more likely to be successful with Villa but I don't see promotion for them this season I think it's more like trying to be to stop the rot.

I wonder if he'll go back to Hull for players? Wouldn't surprise me if he went for Elmohamady, maybe Harry Maguire and Alex Bruce too.

Pretty sure Alex Bruce is a given...........on a 5 year contract.

He'll get them promoted. This season I'm not so sure but he will get them promoted IF given time.

Will he keep them in the Premier League?  All depends how deep the docs pockets are.

Just watching the Premier League Show on BBC2. It'll be interesting to hear what they have to say about Bruce taking over at Villa. Oh...hang on...

Good appointment...really?

A couple of promotions to and a couple of relegations from the Premier League...is that really what they have become?

so Bruce has to work with RDM's squad till xmas, how will they react to him?
Then xmas he will have a clear out and bring in his people.

They will not go up this season, then what will the evil Doctor do? Bye Bye Brucey !

So the cycle will continue.

In the context he is the ideal man. As you say, he often gets promoted and relegated, so they would be wise to keep him until they get promoted, then sack him when he starts to inevitably struggle. It's like if they got a slightly better Mick McCarthy in with a big budget and good team for that division. He's a steady pair of hands who should get them up within 3 seasons but that should be his only objective.

I do agree though, it does show how they have dropped and it will surely hurt the egos of many of them.

As an ex-bluenose he was under pressure before he got in the door, remember how quick they turned on McLeish.
I find it amusing how he has quote   "just in 48 hours realised how big a club this is"

Which means its been rammed down his throat incessantly (in a high pitched seal stylee) "we'm a big club Steve, we won the european club, we'm a big club ay we Steve"

Don't think they can sack another one, the tide is finally turning on VT though, far more thinking relegation battle than thinking promotion all of a sudden.  ;D

Totally balls statement which could just as easily, and perhaps more accurately, be re phrased to: "naughty word me this clubs in more sh it than I realised, but despite having loads of resources at my disposal I'll get my excuses in early just in case".

Followed by: "Well, you know me Tom...... "

naughty word-ugly-spudnutted-gob pooh-media darling-Viler tw@t.
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.
Oh, and always remember to defecate on those Vile chaps in claret and spew.
