He really was.

You can't have ever kicked a ball in anger if you think he should have anticipated a 20 yard bounce on a first touch of a professional footballer.

there's a compilation on you tube of all 41 goals, it spans over 11 years though 😉

Grim, its him then who should be embarrassed every time he looks at his bank balance.

Proud of the youngsters but we do really need to be able to apply the cynical stuff far better. We ended up with  the ten when it was patently obvious Brighton should have been down to that number for far longer. Then of course the dirty little premplayer gets the equaliser. Oh well on with the bread and butter stuff. Bond and Hoolahan deserve a start, Harper and Field should always be in contention and Tulloch and Rogers look good prospects so don’t let them get disillusioned. Mears Bartley etc are what they are, and HRK whilst not any answer at CF generally does a respectable shift at this level. With fairer more even handed officials we might have done a lot better tonight.

I enjoyed watching the kids but it is clear that we didn’t respect the competition. Just hope we win on Saturday now.
Bartley was at fault for first goal but according to some on here he’s to blame for everything, maybe even the Brexit debacle :D

He had plenty of time to rectify Bartley's error but reacted to slowly and then ended up on his backside.

I just hope that this game doesn’t cost us more than the cup run. Field and Harper gave their all tonight but looked done for well before the end. As those two have started recent league games, I just hope that they are not injured. A worry over JRod too.

As for all those on here giving stick to HRK, I would question how much of an Albion fan they are; the bloke did well tonight and ran himself into the ground, as he did last weekend. As for Bartley, oh yes, scored a goal, didn’t he? If criticism needs to be given out, give it to the awful BBC for giving us a day less recovery before a big game at the weekend. Well done to the lads........

Not good enough to what? Beat a team from the league above with 10 men?
Ridiculous comment.
And no it's not a fact. It may be your opinion but fact it is not.
I have a fact
It is a fact that an increasing amount of fans are questioning the management of this team
Now some on here will argue/fall out over the individual, points like Brunt, subs, playing from the back...but the FACT is that the noise is getting louder
If youre going to get told off, get told off for doing something not for doing nothing..

8,645 there  :o  It was indeed our lowest ever 4th round (or equivalent) crowd at the Hawthorns. Incidentally, 59,448 against Pompey in 1956 is the highest.

Dawson not remotely to blame.

He certainly didn’t cover himself in glory, he had a 3 or 4 yard head start on the striker and was more bothered about making a half hearted attempt at playing the man not the ball, the only excuse that can be made for Dawson’s defending is he was utterly stunned a professional footballer on 20k a week could take a touch that bounces 7 yards away from him, the defending from both of them was appalling.

Given our size and stature, we have to be a route for youth and in that respect tonight was a win. However it seems we could have so easily pushed more with better decisions, and none of those resolve around this kids.

I thought it was odd we were playing with a False 9 from minute 46 onwards.

However, if Bartley doesn’t make that ricket we win the tie.  Brighton looked shell-shocked at 1-0.  We even had a decent opportunity to go two up just before equaliser.

Imagine how those kids feel when Gayle comes on scores 2 in 10 mins and see us through

Why is Bartley getting all the blame? Yes it was a bad touch but Dawson for me wasn’t on his toes just like Saturday against assabalonga!!  Unfortunately the early subs didn’t help, played into Brighton hands later on! Well used subs from Hughton. Anyway the kids were excellent.

If you watch the equaliser again. Bartley is at fault for his own mistake AND the perceived mistake Dawson has made, then a further mistake of his own. After his dreadful first touch he then makes a move towards the ball which causes Dawson to hesitate. Then Bartley waved his arms to suggest he intended to pass the ball to Dawson and THEN he gets nutmegged on the edge of the box. Woeful.

Mistakes at the back cost us again tonight, frustrating to think that these coaches seem unable to cut out costly errors. Fine the culprits two weeks wages guaranted they stop sharpish. In relation to respecting the cup I see pep who is a trailblazer puts out full strength team in both domestic cups maybe other managers will take note

Can only assume he means Mears who while poor after we went to a 3, was not to blame for the defeat, he normally means Brunt and Morrison too but they weren't involved it's a catch all phrase I've seen regularly on here.

yeah thinking about it again, you’re right jacko. Bartley really made a complete mess of it. Hopefully he won’t ever get back into the first team

Bartley is rubbish
HRK held the ball up well and was the pick of the Forwads
Tullick looks a good prospect
Field was solid but gets caught in possession too much
Harper plays well for 79 mins and runs out of steam
Mears tries hard but lacks quality
Bond should start in next game

Overall good practice game for youngsters and for future squad development

Just because some people are making a large noise does not mean they are correct, they just follow a populist opinion that falls apart when questioned. One may even say there should be a special place in Wolverhampton for them.
