One thread for all the Rangers/ Celtic and other Scottish stuff, any others posts will be merged into this one.
Scott Sinclair just scored on his debut for Celtic
-
Celtic are champions already then ;D
-
cracking atmosphere between Aberdeen & Rangers. Mcinnes doing a great job but come on you Gers.
-
Where do Rangers realistically expect to finish this season? I would've thought they would be aiming for Europa League, not quite happened for them so far.
As a side note, I was in Glasgow for their first game of the season (against Hamilton) and had a quick look at tickets. Sold out and £160 was the cheapest on the market!
-
I would expect Rangers to finish somewhere between 4th and 7th, not strong enough at the moment to win the league and probably won't be for another 3 seasons or so.
-
Scott Sinclair just scored the winner for Celtic against Rangers to move 19 points clear at the top

It's a joke of a competition but always nice to see the idiots lose to the bhoys in green!

Oh definitely, they're 19 points clear with a game in hand! And have a goal difference of +40, to Rangers' +9. They've played 20, won 19, drawn 1, lost 0.
-
I suggest the idiots comment stop.
Otherwise the lot will go.

Whats all the Huw Har on Celtic equaling the Lisbon Lions there is no comparison the Lisbon Lions won the league title in Scottish League that had teams they could compete against Rangers,Aberdeen Hearts were all decent teams back then, they also won the European cup could you see the side of today doing anything close to that they have no competition in there league and they will never get close in europe Its like putting Swansea in the Welsh league they would also break all records.

Nah, Aberdeen were rubbish back then, and Hearts weren't much better. Kilmarnock and Dunfermline were probably the next best with Rangers. Was another decade or so before Aberdeen were any good
-
Celtic win the league with 8 games to spare after beating hearts 5-0. Still unbeaten in the league too and have a plus 63 goal difference :o

Yes hailing Rodgers as a genius winning a Mickey Mouse league with no opposition.
If we played a season against teams from the Conference (or whatever it's called now) I would hope we would win the league with games to spare
Even Scott Sinclair is doing well up there :o
-
Even my mate Alan could win that league with Celtic.
-
Even my mate Alan could win that league with Celtic.
Can't beat an average mid-table vile though ! (just saying)
-
They have been impressive from the outset.
They had a complete clown in charge, swapped him for somebody decent and spent the money they had saved in previous seasons wisely.
Unfortunately, they will take some stopping over the next few years. The bears are still in the process of re-building. Aberdeen don't have the funds nor fanbase to push them all the way.
-
Rangers are a complete and utter embarrassment
SOonerthe tax Man comes calling again the better

An absolutely abysmal, pub team performance from Rangers made even worse by supporters disgracing themselves. Now I have to put up with all the crowing from the missus's family. Need some booze...

Pedro aint the man.
He has over seen the two worst result in Rangers' history.
Nice bloke, but out of his depth.

McInnes would be great for Rangers but doubt he'd leave Aberdeen now.

What a pisser ;D
Can't blame the bloke in charge, not his side.

He's been told to sit tight for a year :D
The state of Scottish football is incredible. Sad thing is I can see the English league going the same way once the Premier League bubble bursts.
-
Rangers have gone out of the Europa League to some Luxembourg part timers. That is embarrassing.

People have said its going to crash for 20 years
I think its possible it will one day but people will always love and watch football and pay to see it and rich people will want to own a slice

Yes you can - hes had more than enough time to at least put forward a vision and I am still none the wiser. It wasn't Murty's side either but he knew how to get a side organised and hard to beat. Pedro has shown nothing that inspires me to believe he's the man to take the club forward
And you can take this comment as a warning to stop with your wind up attempts otherwise they'll be deleted in future

Dorrans scores two goals for Rangers. Currently beating Motherwell 2-1.

Caixinha sacked by Rangers. Not before time!

McInnes favourite for the job.

Steve Clarke gets his first scalp at Kilmarnock, didn’t take long.

This has got McInnes written all over it. How romantic. :P

McInnes is the logical appointment
Caixhina should have gone in the summer. Awful

Second that
Loved the photo of Big Kyle after the game ;D
-
Congratulations Sevco for the biggest result in their short history yesterday afternoon.
-
Well done Hearts! ;D
Just a shame Rangers ballsed up the game with St Johnstone as it might have meant only a 2 point gap leading into the next Old Firm game; although with it being at Parkhead and what with the disparity in quality I think Celtic will stroll it.
-
Pleasing second half display from Rangers. Decent result as I was expecting us to get turned over. As for Sinclair's miss... :D
-
Never thought it would be possible to be even more in love with Youssouf Mulumbu..

Anyone see browns reaction to what happened ?
Passion we need

Scott Allan scored in the Edinburgh Derby

-
Sounded like a cracking Old Firm Derby. Rangers must be kicking themselves not being able to take advantage of Celtic having a man sent off. 9 point gap with Celtic having a game in hand.
-
The Scottish premier league is Very Easy to win with Celtic If Celtic were in England they'd finish mid table But if a Team like Albion went over to Scotland we could win it never would happen though. And with this team even if we did we wouldn't
-
Pathetic! >:(
-
Gerrard as Rangers Manager. Very odd.
-
Superb scenes from Parkhead.
Seven in a row, which is seven more than Sevco have ever won.
HH!

Our time will come again.
-
Gerrard should have second thoughts.
Rangers are a shambles. Hardly a surprise for a team who's exsisted for a few seasons
-
To be fair, it could have gone either way until the 5th goal went in :(
-
Good luck Mr Gerrard. You'll be needing it. In spades.
-
Well, if anyone can stop Brenda winning a trophy it's that there Gerrard.
-
I doubt Gerrard will make it as a manger, doesn't seem intelligent enough but time will tell.
-
There are many types of intelligence, covering many aspects of life and activities.
I’m not sure if he will make a success of management, history tells us many great players have failed. But unless he tries, he and we will never know.
I’m not Gerard’s biggest fan, but I wish him well, if management is what he wants to try.

Saw the thread title and thought "Christ! We haven't been relegated that far have we?"

Celtic: Neil Lennon replaces Brendan Rodgers as manager

Laughable appointment.
Failed at Bolton, failed and recently sacked from Hibs
Disappointed for Oli Burke mind

Celtic: Neil Lennon replaces Brendan Rodgers as manager
Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/47371095
Must admit that appointment baffles me a little.
Seems strange for them to go back to Lennon. Half expected them to go down the route similar to Rangers/Gerrard.
-
I'm surprised Rodgers decided to go now rather than the end of the season, but it's been urine easy for him up there, and he's looked to be on the way out for a while now.
That being said, Celtic have probably gone with the cheap option until the end of the season. They have a much better squad than any of the other teams, so should win the league. Question will be if they can follow it up with the cup. Rodgers success will become a stick with which to beat any future manager.

We came very close to signing him in the Mowbray era, if my memory serves me correctly.
We were in for him and a team mate, whose name escapes me, from Hibs, where Mowbray had managed before joining us. I think the combined fee was in the region of £5m, but it didn't materialise unfortunately.

Keep the Rangers/ Celtic petty stuff OFF this forum, check the rules its been there for a number of years.
And no I don't follow either so give no tosses at all who wins but not wanted on here, any more from anyone at anytime will be removed

Proven winner. Closed gap massively on Celtic. Plays decent football. Not connected to the club.

Makes no difference at all, wenger, mourinho , Ferguson didn’t have good playing careers

I’d doubt it. Celtic are managed by a whopper and Rangers record in Europe is testament to the job Gerrard has done.
I’ve never understood why this argument is used to beat Scottish football.
Give these clubs the similar income levels to the Premier League and they’re in the top 6.

I don't doubt that Liam, but looking at yesterday's game I thought the standard currently is quite poor.

What a tame "Old Firm" match. Well behaved players that only saw a "card" in the 2nd half.
My one observation was the appearance of the players who all had short hair. Such a change from the rubbish we see in England.

Interesting point but what is the significance of the length of players hair? I s long hair a problem? I remember getting grief from my parents in my youth about the length of my hair, the 60’s and 70’s, and now, would you believe it, I still get grief for long hair, now from my wife and son!

Rangers totally dominated however I did like the look of Aijer Celtic centre half who we apparently were keen on or had watched. Wife was delighted being a Rangers fan

Think it's fair to say Rangers will win the title!

Think it's fair to say Rangers will win the title!
I hope so, but It’s not over yet. Celtic are likely the win the two games in hand, and will have three more games against rangers.
If Rangers can win the next old firm it’ll be theirs to throw away. Celtic still have the better squad though and should be walking the league again but Lennon is awful.
-
Rangers effectively wrapped up the SPL title today. Well done.
Bit late the title being wrapped up in January, it’s usually done and dusted by Autumn.
-
Game over for Celtic. Will they get rid of Lennon?
-
It should be game over, but you would expect Celtic to win their 3 games in hand which closes the gap, plus there are two more old firm games left I believe.
Anyway, Gerrard is doing an amazing job. I don't love him, but you have to respect the achievement.

You might not, but I bloody do. :D
He has transformed the club and will seemingly change the sway of the upcoming decade. Celtic will really struggle without those champions league funds.
Pretty sure Rangers will automatically qualify for the group stages due to the co-efficient points
-
A depleted Celtic side conceded a stoppage time equaliser against Hibs tonight, putting them 21 points behind Rangers.
Even winning their 3 games in hand and then both Old Firm games, they would still need to make up another 6 points to go level with Rangers. It’s starting to look like an impossible ask now, especially as they currently have a number of players self isolating.

starting? they lost any slight hope of winning the league when they lost 0-1 on 2nd Jan. Even if they'd have won that game they would have had to win, pretty much, every game until the end of the season to win the league.

As I said before though, had they won their 3 games in hand and then the 2 remaining Old Firm games (so the games in their control), they would have only been 4 points behind which is nothing. That's nkw back out to 6 and with how poor they have been, it's now starting to look like Rangers title, save for any late collapse from them.

I do wonder what this does for Gerrard's stock as a Head Coach. Move to a mid level PL club in the summer perhaps?
-

Gerrard's doing a good job but I can't help thinking he's benefited hugely by the appointments of both Nicky Hammond and Neil Lennon. Celtic have entered a two horse race with their legs tied together. Based on his time with us I've no idea what qualifies Hammond for his role and Lennon seems too limited to resist a resurgent Rangers. Perfect storm.
-

Most think he is holding out for the Liverpool job once Klopp decides he wants a new challenege. I've read that Klopp does not plan to do a Fergie and may look elsewhere in a few years time so I suppose it depends on how long Gerrard can keep his Rangers stock high.
Would he want to gamble his reputation by going to a Southampton or a Brighton? I suppose if the Leicester job came up or even Chelsea/Spurs then he might go for that.
Whatever he decides, he has begrudgingly proved me wrong with the job hebhas done at Rangers both domestically and abroad.
-
I agree with Dan, I think it is fair to say Gerrard has done well but he has benefitted from some decent circumstances (no pressure for 2 years, Celtics incompetence following Rodgers leaving).
I think Gerrard will stay at Rangers for at least another year too. He will want a crack at the champions league, although they still do have to qualify).
A mid level prem job would be a massive risk to his aspirations of being Liverpool manager too. I think in that respect multiple titles with Rangers would be better. Especially as Celtic will not be this poor next year.
As for this season, I hope Gerrard goes the season unbeaten and scratches Celtic's name out of the record books for most points (big ask!)
-

You're right about the perfect storm. No comment on Hammond at the moment who hasn't had enough time, but Lennon shouldn't really be in that job. He did a good job when he first took over a decade ago but since then he has been underwhelming and he is responsible for this Rangers title just as much as Gerrard is. He should have been replaced a long time ago.
-
Some achievement for Gerrard this. New club as Champions up there for the first time since 1982/83 (Dundee United).
-
Gerrard as Rangers Manager. Very odd.
Wanted to come back and reply to this post now ;D
Not so odd is it at the minute...hes doing a grand job up there with Rangers
-

No need for him to move. The job he is doing both domestically and in Europe is quite frankly phenomenal. He and Ross Wilson have done a stellar job in taking an appalling run football club and turning them into a formidable outfit.
The likelihood with the co-efficient rankings is that Rangers will automatically qualify for the Champions League meaning it is another test for Gerrard to overcome. There is no need for him to jump ship whilst he can continue adding trophies and European adventures to his CV.
It will be the Liverpool job that opens up when Klopp decides to call it a day.

Let's face it - it was a self inflicted depleted Celtic side.
That trip to Dubai was a complete and utter farce. A glorified booze up.

I dont think they expect the co-efficient rankings to positively affect the need to qualify until 2022 (although I could be wrong). This year I believe they just get 2 qualification positions. So Celtic may well dodge a bullet.

You're right - the effect of this season will influence the number of teams that qualify for 2022. The position for next year has already been set.
When I last reviewed the rankings, Scotland were currently 11th in the rankings which is the final place for automatic qualification to the champions league.
The nearest country to Scotland at that point were Ukraine but the downside is that both Shakhtar and Dyamo Kiev are both in the Europa League compared to the one side in Scotland. I haven't reviewed them since the last round of fixtures so the position may have changed.

BBC Sports Scotland Tweeted
Scottish FA chief executive Ian Maxwell has written to all 10 Championship clubs asking if they want to continue playing or suspend their league.

Celtic draw at home to Livingston and with it, we can near enough declare Rangers champions. A Rangers win tomorrow puts them 23 points clear and even if Celtic were to win the 3 games in hand plus the 2 derbies, they would still need to make another 8 points up.
Finally Scotland is more than a 1 horse race again.

What is the association Albion have with Rangers? I remember a while back there were Albion Rangers supporters clubs or something in Tividale or Stourbridge.

Yes i know it's Facebook but Eddie Howe odds on favourite to take over from Neil Lennon. Might as well hand the title to Rangers now.

Personally, I will always feel indebted to them for Willie Johnston, and that's more than enough for me, what a player he was!
-

There is no official association to my knowledge. There are a variety of similar associations up and down the country such is the breadth of their support.
Though I don’t recall a specific Albion one as many tie in with the West Mids group.
-
I think, wherever you are in England and you find a Scottish or Northern Irish community, you are likely to find Ranges and Celtic supporters clubs not too far away
-
For those who haven't seen, Celtic played one of their must win games of hand last night - a second consecutive game vs Jack Fitzwater's Livingston. For the 2nd successive game, they drew. 22 points behind Rangers, only 2 games in hand and now they need Rangers to drop 10 unforced points to stand any chance.

Do you think Neil Lennon will leave at the end of the season or do you think the board will sack him or will he be given a chance to redeem himself next season?
-
I think the only reason Lennon hasn't been sacked already is cause the Celtic board have pretty much written this season off and want a new manager to come in with a clean slate in the off season

10IAR unbeaten for Livingston :D

A similar situation to that at Real Madrid with Zinedine Zidane

Celtic have a large following. I haven't looked up how much but Covid restrictions will have had a significant effect on monies coming in. It could just be Lennon's still in a job because they can't afford the pay off along with a fresh wage and transfer budget for a new manager.

I predict a lennon strop and flounce out, cannot take criticism (and I think hes a plank)

Very strong indications Rafael Benitez next Celtic manager.

yes not going to Chelsea! I can't see him at Celtic or Newcastle but by the same token I can't see which of the top 8 sides in the Premier league need a change of manager.
More likely to end up at Wolves than us I think.

Such a sad day for Scottish football to see him leave

Thanks Neil for the sterling service this season. It's been such fun. ;D

Celtic have previous for nicking our Head Coaches. Attractive proposition chance for Allardyce to manage a team in the Champions League....
Sorry my bad. Chance to manage a team in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League by playing a team from Faroe Islands losing by away goals (my goalkeeper was distracted by a low flying Puffin) and being sacked just in time to "rescue" a Premier League club.

I believe that the person who they hire has to be from a Catholic background. Therein lies the hatred of Celtic and Rangers.
It was only Rangers that had a strict "unofficial" rule about religion. Celtic have always signed players from both faiths. Kenny Dalgleish was a Protestant and a boyhood Rangers fan, Jock Stein was also a Protestant.
In fact I remember reading a few years back how in the 50's/ 60's/70's Celtic used Rangers rigidity for their own benefit by actively trying to sign up and coming Protestant talent knowing that Rangers would never sign a Catholic, so they could sign up all the best young players.

Agreed; that Rangers have been far more rigid in recruiting players on religious lines. This has started to break up since the late 80s when Graeme Souness; pushed hard to get Mo Johnson in; with the double whammy of being a Catholic and a former Celtic player.
Lorenzo Amoruso also became the first Catholic club captain in 1998.

Lorenzo Amoruso also became the first Catholic club captain in 1998.
Mo Johnston was also about to rejoin Celtic when Rangers came in and offered a more lucrative contract....so a triple whammy!
Sadly I remember reading that the kitman at the time refused to lay out Johnston's kit .
-
Well done Rangers on all but securing the title today.
1 point required or a Celtic loss.
Terrific scenes outside of Ibrox at the moment.

GLASGOW RANGERS CHAMPIONS

Well done to Rangers.
It's always good to see clubs win a title for the first time, especially when they've come from the lower leagues. ;D

I mean, where's the lie :-X ;D
Seriously impressive though, I did genuinely doubt Gerrard but this is excellent.
-
Congratulations to Rangers and job well done to Stevie G.
-
Rangers have clearly done well but Celtic failing to win 12 of 32 is a rapid collapse. There was no competition for Rangers this season have Celtic have only themselves to blame.
As usual up here the Old Firm bring violence, sectarianism and negativity to the game - George Square in Glasgow trashed last night. I dont know how they get away with it.
-
It's not just that Rangers have won the league but they have also been good in Europe too and have beaten some decent sides along the way.
Gerrard deserves praise for what he has achieved in his 3 years at the helm.

One for us to maybe get in when Big Sam leaves if or when he does can image games against Warnock or Sheffield United with him in Charge would be fun after his history in the Infamous Battle with both.

He should never step anywhere near us.
I am amazed that Aberdeen have kept him for so long. It’s taken the fans protesting to manage it.

Have to agree, as with Appleton if they hadn't played for us no-one would be mentioning them in line with this club.

Sorry Liam! Have to disagree, i would drive to Aberdeen and fetch Mcinnes myself if he would come!

I realise that now I didn't then he has a bad style apparently although games against the two I mentioned with him in charge should be fun ;D

Why? He's done nothing at Aberdeen to suggest he could do anything with us.

I fancy a drive up to Scotland after lockdown ;D I like Mcinnes the man and i think in the championship he would do a good job at the Albion.

But why? what was it about the job he did at Aberdeen and before that at St Johnstone and Bristol City that makes you think he could manage successfully at a higher level?
-

I liked Irvine the man but he was an absolute disaster despite his previous experience. McInnes is hardly pulling up trees, enjoyed watching his tenacious play here but we need to leave it as it is.
-
in a similar vein and on the wrong thread (sorry) I always enjoy seeing Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink being interviewed, he is such a different character off the pitch its bizarre.
As for Dekka McInnes, its a no from me, nothing notable on his CV which you would say "that justifies taking a punt'
-
But why? what was it about the job he did at Aberdeen and before that at St Johnstone and Bristol City that makes you think he could manage successfully at a higher level?
What makes you think he couldn't? And what makes you think when we are back in the championship we are at an higher level? Would we beat Aberdeen, St Johnstone or Bristol City! I don't think so. He would get us playing some football, he would bring some steel into the team would motivate them and wouldn't stand any nonsense . Just my humble though and he is a better option than Mark Hughes, Ian Bowyer or Michael Appleton.
-
McInnes as a manager for us would be a no from me at this time. Not been impressed with his appointments at any club.
As a player he was immense for us, but as has been said above, if he hadnt played for us no one would consider him as a future Albion manager
-

can’t talk about the other two but we played Bristol only last year and beat them... twice... and one of those was with 10 men.
Appleton is a better fit as he’s big into the psychology side, giving players the winning mentality, as well as working with younger players and plays a much more modern game overall compared to Dekka. Not that I’d advocate for him to take over at the moment either.
-

I think he couldn't because he hasn't shown that he could at any of the 3 clubs he has managed.
he failed at both Bristol City and St.Johnstone and couldn't really make Aberdeen compete for titles with Cel;tic and Rangers (once they were back in the top flight).
Aberdeen fans regularly complained about his style of football and since January Aberdeen have scored just 5 goals in the league.
In European football he never got Aberdeen out of the qualifying rounds of the Europa League in any of the seasons he was in charge.
I wouldn't want any of the managers you mentioned either but in my opinion he's at about the same level as Appleton and Bowyer and at least Hughes has managed at the highest league level.
-
As they're one of the teams I've casually followed for years, I just wanted to post a message in praise of St Johnstone's remarkable cup double that they've achieved today.
Given the total, unending dominance of Celtic and Rangers, St Johnstone's feat is nothing short of remarkable, so all possible credit to their players and manager Callum Davidson, who was only appointed in June last year to what is his first managerial position!
-
Only three cup wins in total and two of those have come this season. Superb achievement given their resources when compared to the Old Firm. Knew a couple of lads from Perth in times gone by so I rooting for St Johnstone today.
-
Rangers beat Celtic 1-0 in the Old Firm derby. Sounded like a good game.

Sky reporting he has been appointed manager of Rangers
-
I think Van Bronckhorst will be a good manager for Rangers having had success with Feyenoord also he knows the club having been part of the successful Dick Advocaat years.
-
According to Rangers official site, Van Bronckhorst is their 17th permanent manager.
Watford get through 17 managers in three seasons.
-
I don’t there there was a better candidate out there to be honest.
Automatically draws the support of the fan base.

Well it would appear that Kilmarnock have sacked their coach Tommy Wright despite their game being called off!

Amazingly, Celtic were still 20-1 on (so a 5% return) after the game at Betfair.

Was hoping Hearts could get in between the Old Firm.domination of Scottish football but fair play to Rangers players for battling to the win after the draining week they have had.
I need to visit Tynecastle or Easter Road still, been ousltside both but want to see an Edinbirgh derby, been a wish of mine for about 20 years now.

For someone who doesn’t care about Scottish football you certainly seem to care enough to tell us you don’t care.
Why don’t you just ignore the thread and save yourself and us the time and hassle of having to read the reminder that you do not care.

Hey Liam, it's still a free world isn't it, free to travel and free speech is still allowed right?
I love Scotland as it happens, but I have no interest in their football or politics, why can't I say 'who cares' is someone who does care more important or more knowledgeable?
I've been taking my family to Scotland for 30 years or more the Highlands and Islands are truly amazing, in fact I'm taking my wife up to Oban in 3 weeks time ferry over to Mull then onto Iona and finally back to Stirling, its a trip I've promised my wife since her life threatening diagnosis a few years ago.
Anyway mate its still a free world even in bonny Scotland eh it?

I think it's pretty clear the point Liam was making. Regarding free speech, you is equally allowed to challenge something you say, in the same way you are defending your right to say it. That said, there are many things you're not allowed to say on this forum (and the wider world), so no, you don't have free speech, but at least the government won't come knocking of you call Livermore rubbish...
You've come on this thread twice and posted about not caring about it. Maybe the first time, it's possible to give the benefit of the doubt, but it's natural people will question your motives now you've done it again.
I have no real affection for Scottish football. I don't follow any of their clubs, and while I understand why Celtic and Rangers have a following south of the border, it's not one I give two hoots about. So I just visit the thread every once in a while to see what others are saying, but I will rarely post here. I won't make comments about why anyone would care about Scottish football, because other people clearly do care about it, as they are discussing it! Personally, it would be quite rude of me to be dismissive of their right to discuss it here.
-
I don't think that I am being rude or dismissive in any way at all.
I have a valid opinion and I have a right to impart ideas of all kinds.
My opinion of Scottish football is as perfectly as valid as someone's opposite opinion but the point is that we all have the right to say it.
Not too just flippantly say that if you don't like something don't look on it, that's not very friendly is it?
Anyway people must be allowed to speak freely otherwise who says who is right?
Am I supposed to not put my point of view because someone says so, I can feel offended as well as the next person
Anyway I have some ikea stuff to put together
-
That's the point, you are allowed to say "who cares", but don't be surprised if people take issue with what you say. That's what a forum is for.
-
In my honest opinion IKEA products are generally of inferior quality to other furniture products. They are cheap and nasty, pass themselves off as a premier outlet when they are anything but and I wouldn't even have one of their bins in my house. Not even if it were gifted to us.
I went there once. Once. At the behest of my wife and sister. Never again. Ever. If IKEA ever sponsor the Albion I will have a real dilemma on my hands. Follow West Bromwich Albion or Scottish fitba. I sincerely hope it's a choice I will never have to make.
Those are my onions........... so there.
-
I know what you mean mate, but I think that the build and design and price do have a place in a lot of people's houses especially if sympathetically placed with more familiar named quality furniture/items.
It's a bit like buying an expensive suit and wearing a primary t shirt underneath it can look great
-
Tried to book the Ibrox tour, sold out for the next few months! Ar well, won't be doing that then.

Very funny Dan I mean genuinely,
Don't worry 59 your not missing much, have you been round the Hawthorns? It's inspiring
I wonder do they have tours around the training ground in Walsall?
I remember back in the day at spring Road how times have change, do you remember the little flip up seats at the Hawthorns?
Even after all these years from the mid 60's until now when you walk up to and into the ground up the steps then you see the pitch especially a night match it still takes my breath away, it's awsome

The seasons first Old Firm derby saw Celtic score 4 without reply against Rangers and open a five point gap at the top of the division after just 6 games being played in the Scottish Premier League
-
It's fascinating looking at the Scottish league tables at the moment. It never really felt like the Scottish leagues changed all that much when I was younger. Gretna, Peterhead and Elgin joined and Clydebank went bust but it was usually the same names.
The success of the English non league playoffs however seems to have had a knock on effect north of the border. Since bringing in promotion and relegation, gone have Brechin City, East Stirling, Cowdenbeath, Berwick Rangers and Gretna, now all in the Scottish non league.
In their place, Bonnyrigg Rose and Annan Athletic sit in the 2nd division, Kelty Hearts and Edinburgh City are now division 1 clubs, while Cove Rangers are 1 promotion away from facing Celtic and Rangers in the SPL.
Makes you wonder why they didn't introduce promotion sooner.

Best passage of play I've seen from up there in ages. And people say entertainment's being coached out of the game. Might move up north and get me a season ticket. Or I might not.

Cue Mikey trying that one tomorrow

Rangers losing 2-0 at HT to Celtic.
Rangers have been absolutely dreadful
-
Game.of 2 halves. Rangers score 2 goals in 3 minutes. 2-2
-
No. 2nd chalked off for a foul in build up. 2 -1
-
And it ended 3-3. Only watched from the 80th minute. Although you can't fault the commitment the technical abilities of both sets of players left a lot to be desired.
-
I left the pub to walk back to work and it was 1-2, got back to work and 3-3, i'm footballing cursed.
Sounds like you caught the good 10 mins Dan
-
I saw it from about 40 mins onward. Pretty good watch that! I hope Liverpool and Man U can emulate that and their FA Cup match a few weeks ago
-
Whatever happens with the title, I know two things.
1/ Brendan Rodgers should never have gone back to Celtic. This season's relative struggles won't have done anything for his reputation.
2/ It's nowhere near the standard it used to be, when Celtic had players like Larsson, Sutton, etc, and Rangers had a similar strength squad. And I can confidently say it will get worse, and the idea of them joining the English pyramid will be floated again.
-
And Rangers lose 3-2 to a Ross County side with with two former Baggies academy players. George Harmon (LB) got on the score sheet while there was also a start for former Liverpool poachee Yan Dhanda in midfield.
