Ive had to turn it off...can’t watch that rubbish!

All this shows is that if we have any injuries to key players we are stuffed

Feel a shame for Field as he is not being given a go in his proper position

We needed about 4 more first team quality players vying for this side

Poor from us..however not bothered about this competition in the slightest this year, it’s all about the league and getting promoted

3 mistakes from young lads , diving in on two.
Hard to be too harsh on them playing a fairly strong Premier team .

Awful, awful, awful.

It was going to be a tough game anyway and not taking the competiton seriously has cost us.

I know we are trying something new but tactically we are approaching it wrong.  We never seem to have options on the ball when the CH's have it and we concede possession too easily.  We might be trying to play the ball through the middle but we are simply not good enough for it.

Darren should apologise to the fans for this performance.

While we are light up front, I think this is more of an indictment on our tactics tonight than to our squad depth. Get Sako in and we look to have options.

Today we had pace options but Moore didn't use them. Too happy to fall back on the safety blanket of experience so cramed players in rather than build a balanced first 11.

Could have been different had we set up with more than 1 forward player. Awful, predictable result. Moore got it wrong today

I think we have played some pretty good stuff. Three nil is very unfair on the team performance.

As usual poor at the back but I agree on the rest , played some decent stuff at times.

We deserved to get stu**ed.
No tactics and a very poor side to be put out.
Field played out of position and it showed.
Barry, Morrison and Brunt showed how slow they each are and why they should be drawing their pensions.

Morrison and Hoolahan very good.

Useful run out for Harper and Adibiyaro.

Thought Brunt was generally poor and Townsend and Kanu just don't look good enough.

Even still, had we had a decent striker on the pitch we could have worried them a bit more I think.

We finished the game with three youth players in defence and two in midfield, yet I still thought we did some good stuff.

Would have liked to see Field in midfield but I can see why he was in defence. Would have liked to see Gayle get the last half hour but can see why he didnt.

All in all, Moore needs to try and make the right decisions to get us promoted, and I think there were one of two in that match that showed they are pushing the first team and gained a good 90 minutes so they are better prepared should they be needed.

What a waste of an evening.

Awful starting line up, awful tactics, awful substitutions. Big Dave has a lot to answer for after that

At least it wasn't a league match.
Crystal Palace showed us the difference between us and a Premiership side.
That gulf is very deep.

Thought we were very lucky to get away with losing by only 3 goals we still need a major overall of the squad starting in the January window.

baffled when chasing the game you leave a striker like Gayle on the bench, why bother having him as a sub? knocked the ball around well at times but constantly gave the ball away, that line up was never going to win tonight.

If anyone didn't see that team selection coming I can only ask where you were for the first 2 rounds?

Can see why Moore doesn't pick these young lads; poor to a man. Townsend absolutely dreadful.

Our second string needs to be beefed up and recognise what work they have to do.

I didn't like the team but you are correct , DM was never going to do anything else . Our squad is wafer thin in areas , reality of relegation.

Townsend is shocking...but Moore signed the bloke. Much like Mears who is next to useless.

Robson-Kanu is just a waste of a shirt, why are we still picking him?

I thought the match showed that our second string is weak up front and at the back. If we had a decent striker (Sako?) and at least one more centre back, allowing Field to play in midfield, we would have looked a lot better.

Our first team would have beat Palace tonight in my view.

Clearly, the club are not arsed about this competition.
They could at least be honest & admit they don’t want to be in the league cup, admit they are going to put out a below strength team & reduce the prices to a quid or even make it free entry.
If we are expected to watch a reserve team, at least have the decency to be up front & not take the urine out of the fans & price it appropriately.

Purely because he won't risk the other two on a night like Tonight .
Harsh on Townsend , poor Tonight but up against a decent defender and I don't think wing back suits him.
