Generally decent from the ref but I won't deny questioning some of his decisions during the second half. Much better than a good number of the whistle blowing, card waving 'look at me' utter dross merchants we've encountered for much of the season though so credit where it's due.

Experienced players who are knackered or younger academy pro's who are fresh for 15-20 minutes? Why not give them a chance? Taylor Gardner-Hickman, Nathen Ferguson, Dara O'Shea have all proved that if you take a gamble, sometimes it can work out very well. It isn't like they will kick the ball into their own net if given 15 minutes.

Jordan Hugill has played something like 18 games this season with 1 goal scored. Is his contribution really that much better in the last 20 minutes than a kid like Tulloch or Cleary?

When do these kids ever get the chance? Other clubs with similar academies to our own take the risks, why don't we?

I think introducing one young player at a time very gradually into a winning team (not a struggling one) is ideal. You’ll never truly know if they’re good enough without giving them a chance - and the hard reality is most of them won’t be.

But I do think we need to be very cautious about this - young players can be exposed very quickly and it can do enormous damage to them (and also to our results).

Ideally we’d have a stronger line-up in which to introduce them. And I agree Hugill is a poor player.

MOTM for me was Reach.  When he brought the ball out of defence I always thought there was a good chance of a telling ball.  Couple of poor tackles but good positioning meant he didn't have to tackle much; worked well with the LWB whom I'm not going to mention..

Another unsung player was Molumby who made some great interventions in our area when the CMs had been pulled out of position.

If any scouts are reading this, worst player on the pitch is Gardner-Hickman - shouldn't give him another thought.   Best player on the pitch was Hugill, obvs.

We've blooded youngsters in recent years who OK haven't made it with us but I don't think they've been badly exposed or had enormous damage done to them (or our results). I'd prefer us to be looking to give the younger players a chance rather than treating them as a last resort.

11k attendance?
BBC Football and the WBA official site both say 11,109! There was a lot of empty seats but it was way more than half full.

No way was that the attendance. Not sure how to prove it and there were empty seats. Given that the attendance is now based on actual number of tickets sold would expect it to be 21000 as stated by Atomic.

Attendance was 21,306.

How many actually turned up? Can only guess. Somewhere between 19,000 - 20,000 I'd say.

Anyone with eyes could see the 11,000 was nowhere near right. God only knows where that originated from.

Also gone for Hickman, would have gone for Valérien Ismaël if I could, he deserves credit for putting out a scratch team that did what was needed.

I've gone for Bartley.

Considering the injuries I thought he was excellent in marshalling that back three.

Reach, TGH & Livermore all worthy contenders.

Bartley did a great number on Carroll.

Clearly Robinson for me. Only one of our players who looked capable of scoring.
