                       1 Rodák
4 Odoi        16 Tosin      13 Ream     33 Robinson
        24Seri                    10 Cairney
8 Wilson      14 De Cordova-Reid      7 Kebano
                     9 Mitrovic

This is how Fulham have set up against Forest today, if they go the same against us, I think we will get over run in Midfield, should we change it up? Will VI do that? What to?

Personally if Mowatt is fit I would go 4 -3 -3, with JL on bench.

I don't think VI will change, good or bad, he has no other way to play. I think we will stay the same but with Mowatt and Moloumby in CM.

If we negate Mitrovic, which we can with our CHs, we can match them.
Not going to lie though, this could be. “Leeds” moment.

God I'd love to get one over these. I know that goes without saying....

they have decent wingers (Wilson, Kebano).  They might set them high up the pitch able to run against our centre backs - not a comforting thought.
We are also vulnerable to overlapping fullbacks and Odoi and A. Robinson are quick - an even more unsettling thought.   VI really should consider 4-3-3 against this lot.  Did he not change tactics pre-Barnsley?

They didn’t need to get out of first gear today against a truly awful forest performance, forest did create chances mind and a decent forward would at least have had 2.

Big call how we approach this game.

We may well not be good enough to beat Fulham. Though they are more than capable of losing games - they’re not invincible by any means.

But what I really want is a performance that gives us a chance, not the utterly feeble displays we put in at Swansea and Stoke recently. I can cope with losing if we perform.

At least the players will already know they’ ll need to put in a decent display if they’re likely to bring anything back from Craven Cottage.

Got a feeling that VI may be able to reverse the recent trend of WBA "bottling" big games.

Worst case scenario is we set up, not to lose, and lose. I'd rather go down swinging, they are good going forward but suspect at the back.

If all are fit, excluding O'Shea obviously:

                   Johnstone

        Ajayi     Bartley    Clarke

Furlong   Molumby  Mowatt    Townsend

        Phillips   Hugill     Grant

Subs: Button, Kipre, Reach, Snodgrass, Livermore, Robinson, Diangana.

For me it's my favourite 352 set up for this game.
I know Val won't go for it.
I think he should go for 343 at least.
Our 2 in midfield will be overrun with our 3 defenders getting spread and the long ball over the top is a very easy pass for them to play
I think our front 3 exc Hugill will be too fast and clever for their defence but it's midfield for us that's critical

I dont see Mitrovic out running our defence (Ajayi) but allow them to push / pass us back to our box and his physicality will cause problems. We NEED to win midfield as they will not go long ball IMO.

Going to be an interesting tactical challenge.

I would go with this from the start
               Johnston
      Ajayi  Bartley  Clarke
Furlong                        Townsend
    Molomby  Snodgrass Mowatt
         Robinson   Grant

bench = Palmer / Phillips / Kean / Diangana / Hugill / Livermore / Reach

There is no way Val will deviate from 3-4-3 so we'd all be wise to forget that suggestion. It just won't happen. I've always been a fan of a three man central midfield either that or four in a diamond but VI is absolutely insistent on 3-4-3. The only variation you may get is one of the front three dropping slightly deeper into a "10" role but even that seldom happens.

Let's face facts, Fulham could beat any formation or personnel that we could put out, especially at home, so expectations need to be realistic. Same in reverse though, any 11 we put out is capable of beating them.
That being said, if Val decides to bring back Livermore and Mowatt, at the expense of Molumby and Snodgrass, he is just giving ammunition to his doubters. I think most would accept one or the other but not both, not after Swansea.

I agree with Atomic that calls for 352, as sensible as they may be, are futile, so, assuming 343, I'd go along with his 11:
                    Johnstone

        Ajayi     Bartley    Clarke

Furlong   Molumby  Mowatt    Townsend

        Phillips   Hugill     Grant

If Mowatt not fit then stick with Snodgrass.

For me Hugill is the correct choice over Robinson as we need to give their defence something to think about. From Saturday alone you can see that he can hold the ball up to allow others into play, and he is quite physical. His confidence will be up too so I would like to see him get the nod.

Ditto. Would be strange to drop Hugil, Phillips or Grant after Saturday.
