Come on lads we cant be brilliant every week  ;)  a draw against an in form team at their ground is not to be sniffed at, that point could be the difference between the play-offs and finishing 7th.

Has anyone heard that Lai will be entitled to a bonus fee of £10 million for every year Albion spend in top-flight should they be promoted.   :o

Just read this on the Birmingham Mail and if true it is bloody disgusting.

When a group of disabled Blues fans and their carers made their way across the bottom of the Smethwick End, right in front of a clutch of Albion supporters, they were bombarded with abuse and plastic bottles were thrown in their direction.

Yes the scenes were ugly on Sunday but no worse than when there were Chelsea fans in the Brummie Road in 2017, and have people got short memories? Man Utd 5-5 game fighting and scuffles in all four stands.

Did you know…

That the Hawthornes is the highest stadium above sea level in the country…

 ;D

We may not be  the highest Stadium now, some talk of The New Lawn ( Forest Green Rovers ) having that record now.
This taken from Forest Green Rovers Web Site:
I therefore got another friend to do a check using the Lidar data available that gives accurate levels.
The result is that New Lawn is 164.3m and Hawthorns is only 163.1m.
So New Lawn is definitely the highest ground - until FGR move!

The first book ever written about the Baggies was called West Bromwich Albion, Soccer in the Black Country and was published in 1965, the author was Peter Morris.

Did you know: Clive ( chippy ) Clark was the first player player to score a goal in a League Cup Final played at Wembley. 1967 was the first Wembley League Cup final before that the final was played over two legs  ( home and away ). Yes we lost 3-2 to QPR  >:(

I sat in The Halfords Lane stand that night and it was bloody cold that night, I am sure I read that John Osborne wore three Goalkeepers tops, two pairs of tracksuit bottoms and 2 pairs of gloves.  Once again disappointed and like someone else said, being a Albion in a school full of Vile fans wasn't great after we lost.
.
We entered the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in season 1966-67

Dos Utrecht Rd2/1L ( a ) Drew 1 - 1  Albion scorer ( Bobby Hope )  Att, 5,500

Dos Utrecht Rd2/2L  ( h ) won 5 - 2 Albion scorers ( Brown 3 Kaye Clark ) Att 19,170

Bologna Rd3/1L ( a ) lost 3-0  Att 20,100

Bologna R3/2L ( h ) lost 3-1 Albion Scorer ( Ray Fairfax )  Att 27.401.

Those posters A4A will be handing out today should make for terrific paper aeroplanes. Here's hoping nobody loses an eye. Not even Colin, he's only got the one.

A4A are asking you NOT to make paper aeroplanes with the posters, but to take them home and dispose of them as you wish.

I have heard this " the club may not or will not exist in a few years" from a few fans, but I disagree this club will continue even if it goes into administration. Like WBArgo says if we have to start again so be it, the Northern Soul motto says KEEP THE FAITH  and I think a few of supporters should learn to do that.

More likely to be offered Dwight Gayle and £2m and no doubt our esteemed leaders will go for that….

Kev there are some fans out there who would be wetting themselves at the thought of Gayle coming back. :o

My wife just said to me.... Why, when the Albion have just scored, do they retreat?
Basically... When we have the advantage, why do we back off?
Best form of defence is attack. Keep them pinned in their own half by their own goal.
Easier said then done. One ball over the top from the defending team can leave you wide open.

When I was helping run the Disabled Supporters club I had many a meeting with Mark Miles and while I found him fair and honest I wouldn't want to cross him. He may have come up though the ranks from a facilities manager to the new CEO, he has been there 20 years so knows the club inside out. Lets give him a chance before we start crucifying him.

Buying a season ticket is not giving money to Lai. It costs millions to meet the running costs of the club. Our money goes towards that. Lai will not see a penny.

Well said KN22.

If you want to get a message across you have got to do something to hurt them. You can think what you want but the facts are if everyone keeps buying season tickets you are supporting the owner. That is the fact like it or not.

Its no good doing that pathetic thing of holding your phone up during a match. What the hell is that going to do !! It was like the Blackpool fans a few years back when they wanted to get rid of the owner Oysten, they refused to buy tickets and attend the matches. The message got home and they eventually got rid of him.

So buy your season tickets but by doing that you are supporting the owner.

I have bought my season tickets to support the team which I have done for many years and in those years we have had some right dodgy owners.

Sorry but for the life of me I can not understand fans saying " I am not buying a season ticket cause I dont want my money going into Guochuan Lai hands, as mentioned he wouldn't give a dam even if none of us turned up and that would play right into his hands of selling parts of the clubs infrastructure. It's the club we should be supporting, the players on the pitch, the manager on the touch line.

Renewed home and away season tickets
