Time will tell but on paper Jacob Murphy is about as good an option as is likely to be out there for us so I would be very pleased with him.

Young, something to prove and a good record of 9 goals in 37 in his last championship season, in a Norwich side I imagine was bang average.

We have been strongly linked with Jacob Murphy the past few days and are now seeing much more credible sources link us with him as well.

"West Brom are poised to complete the signing of #nufc winger Jacob Murphy before Thursday's deadline. Straight loan to end of season, no permanent option to buy at this stage #wba"

Granted it's only twitter for this link, but I think we're generally in agreement that John Percy is usually a very good source of information for transfer dealings.

Pleased with Murphy, can carry the ball and is also a goal threat. Will be able to play in either of the wide positions for sure, and probably has enough about him to play the deep forward role that Rodriguez plays but I haven't seen him play that recently.

For me, we still need another option up front. Either we go for another forward player or sign a central midfielder who can carry the ball and be a genuine goal threat which will free Phillips up further forward. If we sign this type of player in addition to Phillips, I'd be confident of making the top 2.

John Percy from the Telegraph is pretty reliable/solid so given he's confirmed this I would be happy its a Deal pretty much done.

Yep been hearing all afternoon that his move to us was back on so sounds promising.

If it means I don't see HRK until Darren makes his first substitution for the rest of the season, I'll be happy enough

Jacob Murphy on loan from @NUFC looks like it will be priority target achieved but almost certainly won't be @WBA only new arrival before tomorrow night.

I would say and hope we would be brining in a couple of additions to assist the squad.  We have lost 3 out this month (Barnes, Burke and Sako) and two more are out of contact at the end of the month (Mears and Hoolahan)

I think getting in Murphy and Chalobah would make up for the loss of Barnes overall. Not bothered about losing Sako or Burke but would be nice to get another attacking midfielder in to help with the numbers

watched a youtube compilation (not the most reliable of things I know as you only see the 'best bits') but he does seem similar to Barnes which is good. We need that sort of drive and ability to run at defenders. He also looks like he has a decent shot on him like Barnes.

Hopefully we get this across the line.

He likes rounding the keeper!

From that clip he looks a worthy replacement for Harvey Barnes RIP

There's a hold up to the Murphy loan. Essentially, #nufc are trying to use #wba's interest to get some sort of agreement in place for Rondon to stay beyond summer. Not sure whether loan or permanent, and not sure if Gayle's involved in any way. Sounds complicated...

Gayle on a permanent and Murphy on loan, plus a bit of cash, and they can have him.

But I've read they're trying for another years loan - which doesn't make sense for us, as he's out of contract in 2020.

Can't see this happening now. You have to feel for the player(s) involved.

Bit late in the day to start negotiating that type of deal I would have thought.

#wba are finalising loan deals for Jefferson Montero and Jacob Murphy. Looks like the Murphy loan will now NOT involve Rondon or Gayle. Too complicated. Would now just be a straight loan. And that might not be the end of it...
