Well, well, well what a surprise
The sale of tickets has been delayed for Albion’s Sky Bet Championship fixture at Leicester City.

The Baggies visit King Power Stadium on Saturday, April 20 (ko 12.30pm).

Details and a new set of sales dates will be confirmed at the earliest possible opportunity, and the club apologises for any inconvenience caused.

West Bromwich Albion FC / How to watch Burnley away Friday
« on: January 15, 2023, 01:22:12 PM »
Apart from taking out a Sky/BT subscription what are my options for a guaranteed viewing of Fridays match?
I'll even be prepared to pay a sensible one off amount
The usual streaming options are pretty much out ATM for some reason which I suspect is a deliberate blocking of some kind causing constant buffering which is fair enough considering the illegality of streaming

Is there any news on if this is still liable to go ahead? Can't find anything on the OS and need to make plans given it's supposed to happen just a couple of days before Christmas

Struggled to find a suitable thread for this so stuck it here, feel free to move it Admin's

Reading FC twitter account

We wrote to the other 23 @SkyBetChamp clubs to offer a reciprocal ticketing arrangement: their fans can have away ticket prices capped at £20 at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, if our supporters can have the same at their ground.

So far three, unnamed clubs have taken them up on it

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me

Any one know where they stand now? Points deduction or demotion down the leagues?

Any one on their books we should be keeping an eye on?

How the Mighty Billy Big balls are fallen eh? (entirely post Wembley prejudice on my part)

West Bromwich Albion FC / Corners and free kicks
« on: December 19, 2021, 08:25:26 AM »
A simple question to the club
"How have we gone from being one of the more potent and feared teams when it comes to the taking of corners and free kicks to what is, and has been for months now, on view at games and is utter garbage?"
Why is Furlong taking the majority of them? And then overhitting them?
There is a corner/free kick specialist, first name of Chris, on the coaching staff but obviously not being used or listened to
Are they protecting Mowat's recent injury in some way? Early doors he seemed to be pretty good at taking 'em
Yours sincerely a frustrated Baggie!

West Bromwich Albion FC / Fulham tickets
« on: October 12, 2021, 10:12:07 AM »
Mods please move when the Fulham game has been added
A price of THIRTY QUID! (concession price from the full adults THIRTY FIVE QUID!) for tickets for this game, which is even more outrageous especially if compared to the Swansea concession price of £!5.00
The games gone I tell you. For clarity this is one away game I will be giving a miss

General Football & Sports / Adrian Goldberg and Keepy Uppy
« on: August 21, 2021, 06:49:34 AM »
Can I commend Baggie Adrian Goldberg's short film Keepy Uppy very thought provoking and I have to admit is very similar to my own views that I much prefer winning in the Championship to struggling to survive in the Premiership but also accept the prem money skews everything!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tGohBC_eac&t=118s

After all the excitement of the Euros, here's a rarely spoken truth about English football - it's boring!  Not on a match by match basis maybe, but season in season out, the major trophies are hogged by a handful of clubs. Meanwhile "the rest" desperately aspire to reach the Premier League knowing that once we get there, grim survival will be the order of the day, in a sport now dominated by money. This film is calling for a better way to run the game, free from the stranglehold of fear and finance.

General Football & Sports / The men who sell football
« on: August 11, 2021, 10:11:53 AM »
https://youtu.be/ldgTCXpDEgk

I have only scan watched very briefly for now (at work) but looks like some pretty explosive stuff in there

37 minutes in got my attention though as it features suspect financial doings at Seal Park!

This documentary reveals how English football clubs can be bought by convicted criminals and become vehicles to launder dirty money. The football dealmakers – who link foreign buyers with British football clubs - tell undercover reporters how they can hide a criminal’s money and identity behind offshore trusts and use “dirty tricks” to deceive the football authorities. Chris Samuelson, an offshore finance expert and Keith Hunter, a former Scotland Yard detective, also offer our fictitious criminal a new identity by purchasing an EU passport for 10m euro. Our undercover reporters reach the brink of striking a deal for the criminal investor to buy Derby County FC, one of England’s oldest football clubs. The Men who Sell Football is the prequel to the Bafta-nominated documentary, The Cyprus Papers Undercover, released in October 2020. Samuelson’s lawyers say that he was never told about Mr X’s criminal convictions. Had he known, he would have ended discussions immediately. Hunter says that he strongly disputes most of our findings.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Ticket sales dates and loyalty points
« on: August 10, 2021, 09:53:04 AM »
I know this is a locked topic but please bear with me
The link on the locked Ticket Sales Dates topic here now leads to a 404 error page on the official site
Tried looking round the site for ticket sales dates and just couldn't find one.
Accepting I can be particularly dense with online stuff at times I am here to ask if anyone else can find the page?
Even if subject to change due to being televised I like to get the away games tickets sales dates diarised just in case I'm able to make the game and so get my application in before they inevitably sell out
Talking of priority away ticket purchasing does anyone else think their loyalty points look a bit depleted from the last time you checked?
Edited to add that the £7.50 for the Walsall ticket seems to have been credited to my account

West Bromwich Albion FC / The club shop (superstore my ****)
« on: July 26, 2021, 04:49:15 PM »
Thought I'd treat myself to one of the new away shirts before tomorrows Black Country derby
Pulled out of work a tad early and arrived at the ground around 2.45 only to find the club shop in darkness despite there being an 'open' sign on the door. A family arrived just after me looking to buy shirts and were equally disappointed. Enquiries at the reception area next door were met with blank looks and no idea what's going on. So we now have a shop that doesn't work along with an on line ticketing system that is pants we are coming apart at the seams it would seem

West Bromwich Albion FC / Things to look forward to next season

Long weekends in Blackpool and Bournemouth
Blue noses, Cardiff & Swansea away (always a bit 'edgy')
Local derby's, Stoke, Coventry, Forest, Blues, Derby
What's not to look forward to?

General Football & Sports / The IPL
« on: February 18, 2021, 01:49:51 PM »
Can someone explain, in reasonably simple terms please, how this 'buying' of players at an IPL auction works?

How are they paid for the matches they play? Is it like a footie transfer in that the player gets a percentage of the transfer fee? Understand that the 'transfer' is only temporary so do their clubs/counties get compensated?

Appears on something called TikTok apparently

Is he still chair of the supporters clubs?

West Bromwich Albion FC / 2020/21 Bucket lists
« on: July 23, 2020, 05:53:45 AM »
Awoke this morning with the expected hazy head and mind already turning towards the next season in the Premiership and my footie bucket list with retirement on the near horizon
Most importantly is to secure me seat in the Smethwick for at least one more season
Grounds I really must visit for the first time before the opportunity is gone again obviously subject to away supporters being allowed back in to grounds so this probably needs to stretch over at least two seasons
1. Tottenham
2. Man City
3. Liverpool (for a look at their new stand)
4. Arsenal
Local away derby's, again subject to away supporters being allowed back in but these two do have a faint possibility of infiltration being possible  ;)
At least one and possibly two if the jammy buggers survive somehow
Finally a decent attempt in a cup competition
Unlikely I know given how league survival will be considered the only real measure of success
Any other suggestions?

I doubt I'm the only one but registering for this is proving to be a bit of a major faff as a non ifollow user up till now
Had to first add the West Brom App to my laptop so had to install Blue Stacks so had to create a Googlemail account
Now the ifollow page is telling me the cut and pasted promotion code is 'not valid' so now entering into what might well be a long series of emails grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Got mixed feelings about this and DC as a club as have never quite been able to forgive them for that defeat and their subsequent poor showing the next season
