Televised Games?
« on: April 09, 2012, 02:29:18 PM »
Is there some sort of reason for our lack of televised games? You're meant to get a guaranteed 10 a year, but we're only on 7. That works out at 1.5m less in TV money than we should be getting, which is a fairly large amount.

Looking at the schedule we're not due to be on again this season either. The only possibility is maybe the last day if Arsenal are still in the champions league race. I only noticed as Stoke bringing up their 10th TV appearence of the season. It seems a bit odd that we seem to have missed out on it, I can't imagine the club would turn down the money. Norwich by contrast are on (or will be on 11), Wolves on 9 (but you'd imagine their last game against Wigan will probably make TV.

Interesting Dan. Like yourself I assumed that all Premier League teams had to appear a minimum of ten times during a season.

I think we might be on against Bolton and Arsenal due to the fact that Bolton will be fighting for there lifes and Arsenal still need to cement there Champions League place.

TiptonBaggie is right,

Haven't Newcastle and Man United been on four times in a row? Even Swansea have been on twice in a row.

I'm surprised our game against Manchester City wasn't featured on SKY.

i am quite happy that we dont have as many televised games.
Whenever we are on tele. we always seem to loose. May be some one will tell me how many games we have one when on tv.

Does this mean there will be three games shown on television then? If there isn't it clearly isn't mandatory to show each team 10 times.

Looking at our remaining fixtures they are all potentially interesting.

I doubt Albion will be on many more times. There's not much call for a team pushing for mid-table.

I imagine the last day of the season will include a multi-screen option including Wigan v Wolves, Man City v QPR, Sunderland v Man Utd and Chelsea v Blackburn. I think these games will end up deciding who wins the title and who goes down.

It's going to be relegation and champions league places that look like they will be tight. Depends on how clear they are, Arsenal might make it onto the TV as could the Bolton game if they need to win.

Sky have already announced fixtures for weekend we play Bolton and we haven't been picked. However if Liverpool or Chelsea make it to Cup Final, then 12.45am slot on Saturday 5 May becomes free, so it may yet happen

Bolton v Spurs is live on Sky at 8pm on Weds 2 May and Bolton would surely object if they were made to play at 12.45 on the Saturday, so if the slot becomes free then Sky would probably fill it with another game.

But you can guarantee Albion wouldn't be shown as much if we were fighting relegation. And probably not if we were going for a Top 4 place.  Just not a fashionable club.

Complain when we're not on, complain when we are with KO times being shifted etc. Less times we're on the better for me
