I'm not so sure about Fischer. My albeit brief look at his time at Union Berlin suggests that his 4th place finish was largely due to an extreme over performance in front of goal, wherein they scored 51 goals from an xG of 38. They then underperformed the following season and barely stayed up.

His tactical style seems hard to pin down but looks like it's a back three, and certainly more noted for defensive solidity than great attacking play. That said, if we were in the Premier League I'd expect similar, but we're not.

Ange Postecoglou anyone after he gets the sack from Spurs? Plays with no handbrake for the Corboran detractors.
Nobody on here sacked Corberan
He decided to walk out on the club…might be worth remembering that?

who said  Corberan was sacked? I was talking about the spurs manager getting sacked and how he might suit those supporters who like attacking managers. Not sure what you are on about.

I'm not sure Zippy knows either to be honest, he's prone to rambling though (allegedly) so there is that  ;D .
Pile on fweind 😂😂
I’m very clear what I am on about thanks
There was (yet another) reference to the “Corberan detractors” when asking if postecoglu should be considered …
Bit strange really
Ange is still in position,we wouldn’t pay that sort of salary ,we are very advanced in terms of new appointment.so im not sure what they were actually on about ??
Additionally the “Detractor” thing is a moot point as Corberan walked so there has to be a replacement.

The club has briefed the media that they want an appointment to be made in time for the Stoke game. In practical terms that means this week so whoever is in charge has a week to work with the players ahead of that fixture.

As the ITK posters have so helpfully pointed out that means final interviews Monday and Tuesday decision today announcement Thursday or Friday.

I would be surprised if Wicky isn't one of those interviewed and I suspect  Steven Schumacher is under consideration. Unlike Cooper and Potter he is still building a reputation and probably feels the need to return to work sooner rather than latter. A return to Plymouth is very much an open door for him. At this point he has chosen not to walk through it which might mean he has a chance of a better role with us.

The rest of your post suggests otherwise. At the same time I'm happy to take your word for it. All that matters at the end of the day is that you understand what you're on about and that what you're on about keeps you happy  ;D .

Zippy I think people are more than welcome to say “Corberan Detractors” in regards to discussing the next manager as it’s quite relevant when discussing style of play and who might be a good or bad choice. I’d say Postecoglou is some pie in the sky thinking though!

I don't think use of the phrase 'Corberan detractor' is something anyone can have an issue with. Zippy, are you now trying to claim that you weren't one after seeing the paucity of options available to us?

You were staunchly Corberan out for a long time and made your feelings very clear on it.

Regardless of whether Ange is sacked, he would not be coming here, whether we would want him or not, so that one is a very quick discussion point.

The reference to Postecoglou was because l think he, will be sacked if Liverpool beat them badly tonight. He was just an example of a manager who's teams play without the so called handbrake on that Corberan was accused of. Of course the  chance of him at the Albion at this time is far fetched. I heard Spurs fans complain that he is too gung ho and it's just interesting that most fans complain no matter what the playing style is if the team isn't winning games. Pulis my exception to that rule. I couldn't cope with another 1-0 slow motion win under him. Even reading his win% stats are boring. W36, D36, L49.

Also remember Carlos had one of the best  win percentages of any Albion managers ever and our playing style was million miles away from the likes of Pulis served up.

The crazy thing about Pulis is he didn't play that sort of football under Palace so don't know why he reverted back to Stoke type footy under us...

Username checks out ;)

I think I’d favour Wicky over Fischer seems like a bit more of a track record.

No to Southgate and no idea about this Grosso chap also linked.

Postecoglou will not be turning up at the Hawthorns. Totally unrealistic.

Does anyone actually read the posts? I was trying to highlight the type of manager i.e. an all out attack style compared to Corberan's accused overly cautious approach and that many Spurs fans weren't happy with his approach. Still would like Cooper but if not would gamble on Wicky.

Other than the meaning of a “detractor “ is to be disparaging …and I think (and certainly my point of view) was not to be disparaging but to night light real concerns re use of the squad and stubbornness to adapt etc etc .
I was then Questioned if I knew what I was on about,by a poster that asked if “tge detractors” would be happier with a manager that is way beyond our current realistic ambitions.

I wasn’t anti Corberan
I was disappointed that he refused to use options available until invariably had no choice…at which point those options looked good (Styles for one)
I respect what he did and where we went from under his management, but that doesn’t meant there cannot be any critique…unfortunately it has been for some a bit in or out with no room in the middle…and yes in recent months I would have pulled the plug and am actually grateful we got a payment rather than having to pay out .

In terms of attack-mindedness, Michael Flynn and Ryan Lowe stand out among managers who are attainable. Do they make more sense to you?
