Dyche would be an utter disaster for us.

I'd be surprised to see Dyche settle down to the championship, with the possible exception of a newly relegated side. He'll still get job offers from the premier from teams worrying about relegation.

Why not go for the Sheff Wed manager?

I find it interesting that despite an unknown name shooting up the bettings odds to be favourite there is still no report from local journo’s. Silence could be telling.

Until John Percy tweets I'm taking

Why not go for the Sheff Wed manager?

I think southampton looked at him until they saw the compensation required to get him out of his contract.

Why not go for the Sheff Wed manager?

The purported £5m compensation figure may have something to do with that  ;D

West Ham have sacked their manager with Graham Potter supposedly already lined up and to be announced this week.

We never really had a chance with him anyway i dont think!

I see nothing much has happened in our Head Coach search as we now debating the possibility that Dyche  is fired from Everton and becomes a viable candidate.

As with Cooper and Potter it is likely that Dyche will have a gardening leave clause in his contract, so rather than having the contract paid he is paid his wages for the unexpired duration of the contract. If he wants to take a job before the gardening leave is over he has to forgo the remainder of the pay-off.

Managers fired by Premier League clubs on gardening leave are never going to take the first Championship job that comes along for less than a third of the money they are being paid on gardening leave.

Given the choice of Dyche or Brunt and Abella, I far rather go for the latter till the end of the season. Dyche would be a big step backwards IMO

We can only hope that it's never an option. Hobson's choice.

Wasn’t aware a Hobson was involved so Brunt and Abella have a clear path until the end of the season.

Wicky would be a gamble bearing in mind his little or no connection with UK football.

Wicky would be a gamble bearing in mind his little or no connection with UK football.

If we limit our search to those who have experience in English (or even UK) football, it really narrows who is available and probably also will push their demands up as the English game generally pays more than other leagues.

I have no problem with a manager with little experience of English football because at this point they have half a season risk-free to bed in.

Football isn’t a complicated game. European coaches can and do do very will in the English game very frequently.

I really do not see the exposure to English Football as an issue at all.
Its the same game, with exactly the same rules played Globally.
Its the way individual teams set up that is the key to combatting them to get a result, whether you are playing against Inter Miami, Inter Milan or Wycombe Wanderers.
The 'style' of players differs between teams as much as between Countries. There is no European type of football, Spanish type of Football, as there is a no West Midland type of Football.
Every Manager/Coach will have his preferred tactical approach, but this will be modified and affected by whom he is setting up against, not which Country they are from. So RW will do just fine, if he does his homework.

If names have/are been/being added to the list of possibles, should the ones now not available for whatever reason be removed?  Also, as some forum posters have mentioned names that are not on the list ie: Dyche, Abella etc, should they not be included?

The names on the list have been mooted about in the press/ online etc. Dyche and Abella have only been mentioned on here as far as I can see. If they get that attention they will then be added.

Those that are now not available may suddenly be available in the future so reluctant to remove and then add again.

I will now remove Robins though as he is definately out of the running

Changed my vote to Wicky. I don't buy into the theory that experience in the Championship (or even England for that matter) is essential criteria. I don't think our club is in the position to turn our noses up at anyone who has won domestic titles.

I still think there will be a couple of similar European candidates who haven't been leaked yet. The fact it's taking a while re-assures me in a way, hopefully we're taking our time to really think on this and set out the "project" to the new boss, be it Wicky or someone else.
