We're going to have to make do until Caleb can be recalled in January

Caleb not in the Wycombe squad today which if he’s not injured or suspended probably means we are going to recall him and he’ll be available for 3rd round of the cup

He could play in the second round of course.

He's coming home , he's coming home, Caleb's coming home. Left out of Wycombes cup lineup for the second time today. Says it all

For me it's time we find out if he's ready.

He's been rated one of the top  league 1 CBs every season he's been there. He's young but not a kid, turns 22 in Jan and we need CB's.

Not sure Wycombe would pull him out this early if we were recalling him. They’ve probably got 6 games before January

Just checked, it’s 8 including today

3rd round of FA cup isn’t until January so ensures he isn’t cup tied if we were to recall him.

He scored for Wycombe today. Only heard positive things about his loan spell there. Interesting decision to be made in January about recalling him.

Indeed. If we are not going to use him regularly, better to let him have full season away before coming back to challenge next season.

I don’t feel that bringing him back to warm the bench is the best thing to do for his career somehow. Ajayi will be back before long and we have plenty of options in front of him with everyone fit. He’s doing well, let’s let him flourish and come back even better for us next season

The Ajayi situation will I think be the deciding factor. Originally it was said he’d be out for about 16 weeks with losing McNair as well it does leave us short more so as Bartley seems to be still struggling a bit so I think January Caleb will be with us but he may leave again much later in the window

Taylor should stay there for the whole season and be back next season to start with Heggem (if we retain him) when we actually have sorted out our playing personnel enough to go for promotion

I'd recall Taylor and expect he will be used; McNair will be gone, Ajayi not fit and Bartley's fitness is hit and miss. He could challenge Holgate on current form and get minutes.

It will be absolutely awful if we recall him just for him to get splinters on his backside.

Calling him back to sit on the bench and play for the u23s is the worst thing we could do, I agree.

However he’s 22 in Jan, not a young kid anymore and it’s getting close to now or never for him here IMO. If not in Jan than next season we we need to give him a proper chance or sell him

I feel like with both Caleb and Josh Griffiths the time is coming quickly where they will want to be playing frequently or they may look at moving on.

Just watched him for 90 minutes on Sky against Bolton, reminds me of a young Kyle Bartley, let him defend, head away etc and he's fine. Not that great on the ball though but adequate. Pleased to say no arm waving and finger pointing or blaming of others, just played the game.

His stats say he's 188cm apparently but he looks bigger than that. Might be marking little blokes in fairness.

Not sure how long Holgate is going to be out for but it seems we have little choice but to recall Taylor now. We cannot get by with just Bartley and Heggem as well as they both played today

Holgate hoped to be back for next game but we will be short especially with McNair going to US now. I'm sure Bilkul have been working on a loan target as cover.

CT will be one of the main beneficiaries of the last manager's departure as he clearly didn't trust him.

Hopefully, he comes back and is brilliant and a worthy long term replacement for KB.

For people saying it's now or never for him at 22, I disagree.

Centre halves take so much longer to develop than any other outfield position. Dawson was much older before he established himself.

Dawson went on loan to Bolton in the Championship at 22 and meaningfully broke out as a starter at 24. I agree that Caleb isn't at a make/break point yet, but he will be in a season or two, so if those at the club don't think he can make the step up he's better off elsewhere
